The Avengers are an all-star team of superhero characters from Marvel Comics. This is a list of the best Avengers members and related characters. Avengers villains and supporting characters are also featured on this list.
The Top Ten
1 Iron Man Iron Man is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, as well as its associated media. The character was created by writer and editor Stan Lee, developed by scripter Larry Lieber, and designed by artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby. He made his first appearance... read more

Listen, without Iron Man, the Avengers could not exist. All the big plays, all the money, almost all the brain, and absolutely all the tech come from this genius billionaire playboy philanthropist. His suit is literally fit for fighting gods, and his blasters can be stopped only by Captain America's shield and the Tesseract itself. He is hugely intelligent, and one of the coolest things about him is that he makes and fixes all his own stuff! None of the others can do that. He is a born front-man but doesn't mind taking the backseat occasionally.

Also, did you see how he didn't treat Banner like a fearsome beast but instead like a human being? He was absolutely fearless in his presence, and that was really nice for Banner.

And the last thing... do you remember when he showed up in Stuttgart to stop Loki? And he took over SHIELD's systems? That awesome music completely encapsulates his unparalleled style - which, arguably, is his strongest and coolest asset that he brings to the team.

2 Captain America Captain Steven Grant Rogers, most known as Steve Rogers or Captain America, is a fictional superhero appearing in the American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was a World War II veteran and is known as the world's first superhero. The character was created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon and... read more

He is the best superhero of all time. He saved Vision from Thanos' alien guy in Infinity War and could've been stabbed in the chest if Vision hadn't decided to help him. He's always putting other people before himself, understands his team members, and helps them grow stronger emotionally. He is willing to do whatever it takes to save the world and is able to use what he has resourcefully. Come on, all he uses is a shield but still can beat the literal crap out of the enemy.

His personality also brightens his character and improves the atmosphere during the movie. How he told the general in Infinity War that he would fight him too if he got in the way of doing what's right. How he started crying in Endgame after Black Widow, one of his closest friends, died. All these little moments make him a great superhero and my favorite of all time.

3 Thor Thor Odinson is a fictional superhero appearing in the American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character, based on the Norse mythological deity of the same name, is the Asgardian god of thunder and possesses the enchanted hammer Mjolnir, which grants him the ability of flight and weather... read more

Don't tick this guy off. He has a super powerful, electrically enchanted hammer that comes to his hand whenever he wants, and no one else can pick it up. He also possesses super strength and immortality. Still want to tick him off? He's also a god. Good luck with that.

Nobility, valor, super strength, superb combat skills, immortality, vast regenerative capacity, and his hammer is one of the most powerful weapons in the Marvel universe. Enough said.

Thor smashes every Avenger with a single stroke of a lightning blast. No one can lift Thor's hammer as he is the only powerful god and eligible to lift it. Thor cannot die. He will live forever!

4 Spider-Man Spider-Man is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics existing in its shared universe. The character was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and writer-artist Steve Ditko, and first appeared in the anthology comic book Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962) in the... read more

Spider-Man has always been my favorite superhero. I'm not saying he would be able to beat one of the more powerful ones, like the Hulk, for example, but I think his powers are the coolest. I watched him when I was really little, and like every birthday I've had, I wished for his awesome agility and web-shooting powers. Again, I'm not saying he is the most powerful, I'm just saying he is my personal favorite.

Lots of these characters aren't Avengers, but they are Avengers characters. Spider-Man appears in the Avengers movies, so I guess that counts as him being an Avenger for a short time.

5 Black Widow Natalia Alianovna Romanova, most known as Natasha Romanoff or the Black Widow, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is one of the most talented spies and assassins in the entire world and is a founding member of the Avengers. The character was created... read more

I don't understand why she is so low down. She is awesome, fast, and a badass at fighting. Her costume is great, her ability to fight is great, and she does not take any crap from anybody.

She is the only one who can defeat the best Avengers, always in the shadow of the others but yet has fantastic abilities and faculties at the height of the best!

Black Widow is really awesome. For example, she was able to take out five armed men when she was too weak to even stand straight, after a major abdominal surgery which she had to undergo without anesthesia. Beat that, [insert whoever's name here].

6 The Incredible Hulk Robert Bruce Banner, also known as The Hulk or Bruce Banner, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and was portrayed by Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The big green smashing machine. He has no special weapons, no armor. Just immense strength and plenty of pure rage. When he uses both on you, you better hope he doesn't find you.

Hulk even stopped Thor's hammer. Come on, he is the strongest in the team. And Banner is even more incredible as a scientist.

Lol, guys, he's practically invincible and has no limit of strength. Guys, he can destroy planets in a single punch and can pick up a god's hammer! The Hulk would destroy any other superhero. It might take a very long time, but eventually, he's going to get so strong that he could even kill Superman.

7 Black Panther T'Challa, better known as the Black Panther, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1966, first appearing in Fantastic Four #52 (cover-dated July 1966) in the Silver Age of Comic Books. He is known to be the... read more

He's one of Marvel's greatest characters. Did you know he invented the Avengers' Quinjet? He's one of the top 8 smartest people in Marvel. BP leads the most technologically advanced nation on Marvel Earth, where Tony's lab is considered an average little lab. Black Panther has defeated the forces of the Super Skrulls when all heroes on Earth fell to them. He also led the Avengers to capture Thanos, defended Wakanda from the attacks of Mephisto, and beat Doctor Doom and his Latveria forces.

He is a deadly warrior with extreme leadership, especially when leading in Infinity War, as well as a brilliant scientist/inventor, though I admit his sister does most of the work these days.

8 Doctor Strange Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange, best known under his alias Doctor Strange, is a fictional superhero created by artist Steve Ditko and writer Stan Lee appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Doctor Strange serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth against magical... read more

It depends on the view. For me, the most satisfying character is Peter Quill, who mostly always makes everyone laugh. But when it comes down to it, the character for me is Doctor Strange. He easily could have beaten Thanos if Marvel hadn't been planning on making a sequel. Imagine that his teacher was able to remove the soul from the body, and the soul wasn't able to return until it was allowed to, as was done to Hulk. So, he is very interesting in terms of what he can do, but the movies didn't explore that because the story would have been too short. At the end, he is the most interesting character, but Marvel hasn't utilized him fully due to the lack of storyline. It was about losing money, but still, I think he could have easily beaten Thanos. As said in the Doctor Strange movie, they get their energy for the powers from a different universe, so there would have been an infinite amount of it.

9 Ant-Man Ant-Man is the name of several fictional superheroes appearing in books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby, Ant-Man's first appearance was in Tales to Astonish #27. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Paul Rudd.

He's so funny and one of my favorite superheroes. In his movie, I laughed so much and was definitely entertained. It had an easy plot to follow, and it was just cool. Nobody doesn't like this guy.

Can I just say Ant-Man is one of the best characters in the MCU, but he is so underrated? I mean, who was the first person to go to the quantum realm AND come back? Who saves half the galaxy in Endgame? And who gives us the iconic line "Does anyone have any orange slices"? The answer to all of these is Ant-Man.

He is funny, awesome, and friends with Luis - The Best Character in the MCU.

10 Scarlet Witch Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is thought to be one of the most powerful people in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and can... read more

She destroyed so many of Ultron's robots and basically just has to snap her fingers to say goodbye. She controlled Vision in Civil War, stopped everyone in the big showdown in Civil War, held back Thanos and destroyed an Infinity Stone, and saved part of Wakanda when she destroyed the tanks.

She should be number 1 because of her ability to warp reality and change it, as well as reanimate corpses (as seen in the comics). It would be great to see this in the movies, showcasing her true power. She could probably defeat any of the Avengers, Loki, and even Thanos if her powers were at their maximum. She managed to infiltrate the minds of several Avengers, including Thor (a god), Iron Man (whom you ranked #1), Black Widow, and Captain America, causing significant upheaval. Additionally, she played pivotal roles in defeating Ultron and Proxima Midnight.

The Newcomers

? Human Torch The Human Torch is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.
? Wonder Man Wonder Man is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby, he first appeared in The Avengers #9.
The Contenders
11 Loki Loki Laufeyson, or Loki Odinson, is a fictional character appearing in the American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is the adoptive brother and archenemy of Thor, and is known as the "God of Mischief". In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character has been portrayed by Tom Hiddleston.

Loki is the bomb. I loved Tom Hiddleston (Loki) already, so this film made me love him more. He's so badass and sexy (I never said that). Although the movie is supposed to be about a bunch of superheroes fighting to save the world, I think most people were rooting for Loki, trying to rule the world. And also, I know he's the villain, but he has more fans than the actual superheroes (besides Iron Man, of course).

Loki is just so cool! You cannot beat Loki. I know he's the bad guy, but he seems to be more loved than all the actual superheroes. He could have won that war if he really tried, but all the way through the Avengers, I was totally Team Loki!

12 Hawkeye Clinton Francis "Clint" Barton, better known as Hawkeye, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is a former special agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., where he worked under the supervision of Phil Coulson. Known for his use of the bow and arrow as his primary weapon,... read more

If I had two votes, they would go to Iron Man and Hawkeye. Hawkeye is a family man with a commendable personality that hasn't been as tainted as some others. He possesses the best self-control, partly because he leads the most normal personal life among the Avengers.

What's more advantageous than attacking from a distance? Hawkeye has caused fewer accidental civilian casualties and city damages compared to other Avengers. This is because his method of attack often involves precise shooting, rather than causing widespread destruction.

13 Thanos Thanos is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Jim Starlin and Mike Friedrich. The character first appeared in Iron Man #55 and has been portrayed by actors Damion Poitier and Josh Brolin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He is one of the most badass characters in all of Marvel.

14 Nick Fury Colonel Nicholas Joseph Fury is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer/artist Jack Kirby and writer Stan Lee, Fury first appeared in Sgt. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson.
15 Winter Soldier James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Sebastian Stan.

Dude, this is Bucky we're talking about here. He deserves to be in third or fifth place.

He's got super soldier serum, a metal arm, great hair, assassin skills, and hotness.

Did you see his fighting in The Winter Soldier?

16 Vision The Vision is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is an android and a member of the Avengers who first appeared in The Avengers #57. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Paul Bettany.

He's awesome! Imagine how his power would look like if he had all six gems.

17 Gamora Gamora is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Jim Starlin, the character first appeared in Strange Tales #180. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she is portrayed by Zoe Saldana.

Gamora is hot and a badass. Being able to call herself the most dangerous woman in the universe is pretty sick, man.

18 Rhino

Whenever you see a giant rhino...

...RUN!

19 Quicksilver Quicksilver is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in the comic book X-Men #4 and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

In my opinion, he should be ranked much higher. He is a very powerful and authentic character. Even though he appears in only one movie, he still comes across as a great guy and an amazing brother. He constantly worked to protect his sister, Wanda, seizing every opportunity to do so. He cared deeply for her, safeguarding the only family he had left. Moreover, his storyline had so much potential for further development.

He also sacrificed himself to save a member of the Avengers and a young boy, epitomizing a true hero. Pietro is such an underrated character and truly deserved so much more.

20 Captain Marvel Carol Susan Jane Danvers, or Captain Marvel, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is portrayed by Brie Larson in the movies Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. Created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gene Colan, Danvers first appeared as an officer... read more

I love this character so much, but why is she so low on the list? She's the most powerful and, dare I say, beautiful. If you hate this character, then I hate you. She's so funny and so cute. Please vote for this character!

Why is she so low on the list? I think she is the strongest, especially how she destroyed Thanos' ships.

She is definitely the most powerful Avenger and she deserves to be first!

21 Abomination
22 Ultron Ultron is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is most recognized as a foe of the Avengers, and has a quasi-familial relationship with several of their members, especially his creator Hank Pym. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by... read more

His attitude towards Stark. Just funny!

23 Falcon Falcon is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Gene Colan, and introduced in Captain America #117. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Anthony Mackie.

I've always liked him. They just don't show him enough in movies, except in Civil War, where he was AWESOME. He needs his own movie or something so people can see how awesome he is.

Falcon has amazing aerobatic skills as well as acrobatic ones, and his suit is great, especially in the comics!

24 Red Hulk
25 Wolverine Wolverine is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly associated with the X-Men. His powers and abilities include a healing factor and his signature adamantium claws and adamantium skeleton.
