Batman is the best character in the batman comics. they are called batman comics for a reason. The joker appears in a lot of the comics, but not all of them. Batman does though, and I feel more emotionally attached to batman. Joker being number one on this list is understandable though. He's cool because he is like an evil batman, which challenges Batman in ways no other villain can.

This should be no contest, Batman is the best character on this list, he's complex, relatable and tragic! He's also badass! Without the Batman all the characters on this list would be virtually nothing, while Batman is awesome by himself, an inspiration and my favorite fictional character of all time!

Why is BATMAN the BEST...because nobody fights like him, defeats superhero who is a literal godlike being, never kills yet brings justice...come on what other reason do you want... o wait I forgot it he is the BEST because HE IS BATMAN or more like "I AM BATMAN"!

2 Joker The Joker is a fictional super villain created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson who first appeared in the debut issue of the comic book Batman (April 25, 1940) published by DC Comics. Credit for the Joker's creation is disputed; Kane and Robinson claimed responsibility for the Joker's design, while acknowledging Finger's writing contribution. Although the Joker was planned to be killed... read more

The joker is awesome. I think he is more interesting than batman, with a more interesting persona and a past. His laugh is creepy, and he always has tricks up his sleeves. I think the Troy Baker (Arkham Origins) and the Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight) are the best portrayals. Don't get mad about me liking mark hamill less than other portrayals, but hey, why so serious?

After a lot of thinking I concluded that he deserves the # 1 position

Right from his jokes, his persona, his actions, his tricks to keep batman on run makes him legendary

Be it comics world version of Joker, be it Rocksteady version of Joker or be it Nolan version of Joker. None will disappoint you.

Sadly Mark Hamill will never Voice-Act for Joker again... But Hey! Why So Serious?

The immovable object to the unstoppable force
The joker is absolutely legendary and the way that he does everything without a motive and has no rules at all shows why he is the greatest comic book character of all time. No matter where you look, a representation of the joker will always show you how amazing the character truly is.

3 Harley Quinn Harley Quinn is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as a sidekick of the Joker.

Is there anything to explain? She is just so BEAST!

Best character ever! Cutesy but deadly!

4 Catwoman Catwoman is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with the superhero Batman.

Catwoman has been featured in many media adaptations related to Batman. Actresses Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt introduced her to a large audience on the 1960s Batman television series and the 1966 Batman film. Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed... read more

Sexy, badass and complex, she truly is the hero of Gotham! Unlike Batman who is rich and has access to toys, Catwoman had to make up her own gadgets, being poor on the street, increasing her relatability! Not only that but Catwoman steals the show over Batman all the time, such as Julie, Anne and Michelle! She also is seductive and has a fun personality!

The most bad ass comic book character ever! She isn't an antagonist, but she isn't a heroine either. Not to mention that she is also Batman's love interest. But mind the comic book. She is ever better in Gotham. Gotham shows the young Selina, and might I add, she is my favorite character. Selina / Catwoman gets an A+, 10/10 for being amazing.

Catwoman should be number 2, behind Batman who obviously is the best! She's badass, sexy and interesting! She really has a heart despite being a criminal, as shown in KnightFall where she stole a government toxin to save a children's orphanage! Jean Paul interrupted, but Catwoman kicked his ass, lol, and you wish she would have killed him, so she could be a hero! She's awesome!

5 Robin Robin is the name of several fictional superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was originally created by Bob Kane, Bill Finger, and Jerry Robinson, to serve as a junior counterpart to the superhero Batman.

Dick Grayson is SO funny and it's amazing how he is still so happy even after his past! I have always (and always will) loved Dick Grayson from The Batman, to Teen Titans, to Young Justice, to when he becomes Night Wing in Young Justice and heck even in Teen Titans Go! He is AWESOME!

Holy top 10 list Batman! He was hilarious in the 60's, awesome in the comics, and had awesome costume nipples in Batman Forever. What's not to love about The Boy Wonder?

I like robin, cause of batman training him to become a master fighter, But, the only thing I don't like about him is the fact that he gets killed sometimes.

6 Riddler The Riddler is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman.

I really do hope that the rumors are true. I really want to see Edward Nygma team up with Penguin and Catwoman on the big screen. He is truly the greatest Batman villain

What's an 11 letter word that's always spelled incorrectly?

The 2nd breakout character of the Gotham T.V. series (Penguin being the first)

7 Alfred Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, most commonly in association with Batman.

There's just no beating him (accept for Batman). He's just perfect. I really like the Alfred from the dark night trilogy.

Currently, it is nearly impossible to imagine Batman without Alfred.

I really don't see why Alfred isn't in the top ten! This guy is like the greatest butler ever

8 Poison Ivy Poison Ivy is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman.

So underrated. I'm having a hard time figuring out who I like more... Harley or ivy? Ivy has a great origin and loves nature! I love nature and green so I love ivy a lot

Come on! Poison Ivy deserves to be in at least the top 5. She's my #1!

9 Scarecrow The Scarecrow is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman.

A villain which hasn't had his "Killing Joke" yet. He truly has potential to be a better arch enemy to Batman than even the Joker. They use the same type of weapon but in different ways. One is on the side of justice and the other just wants to revel in terror and hear the horrifying shrieks of his victims. He just needs to be more in the comics and have bigger roles.

So dangerous enemy and can made anybody watch him his fear and then the man is dead and like this he tried to KILL batman but batman faced it and defeat him.

The only villain to appear in the 3 movies of the Dark Knight Trilogy

10 Mr. Freeze Mr. Freeze, real name Victor Fries, is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman.
The Contenders
11 Batgirl Batgirl is the name of several fictional superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, depicted as female counterparts to the superhero Batman.

In film Batman and Robin is discover young woman. She is challenge of Bat costum and starter his Batgirl. Beautiful madam in black bat costum. She is have big Ear, s pointed horn. Batgirl his winning fight opposite Poison Ivy.

Batgirl is beautiful woman in bat mask, great style, great fight female. Werry intellect girl in black costum and bat ear.

I know that 'Oracle' is already mentioned, but, some may prefer Barbara Gordon as 'Batgirl. '

12 Penguin The Penguin is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman.

One of the most well-known characters of comics, currently the breakout character of the Gotham T.V. series

You'll get it once you watch Gotham. They flesh out his character a lot.

13 Bane Bane is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman.

I like bane because he has super strength and he is in the latest batman movie.

I love batman and the joker 100%. But come on he is just crazy.

14 Nightwing Dick Grayson is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with Batman.

Nightwing is confirmed as the best acrobat in the DC universe. He's smart, skilled, a strong leader, and has a funny, optimistic personality to boot.

Takes down everyone in 2 seconds he is amazing at fighting and I hated in arkham city he didn't have a campaign or story mode. Also nightwing needs his own video game hack maybe robin can get his own game to

Nightwing has been confirmed to be a better fighter than Batman himself. He should be higher on this list.

15 Two-Face Two-Face/Harvey Dent is a fictional villain from DC Comics. Harvey Dent was one of Gotham's most trusted citizens until he had acid poured on his face making him go insane and become a criminal by the name Two-Face. In film, he has been portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in Batman, Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever and Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight.

The most human of all Batman's villains and in a weird way, the one we want the most to get better and redeem himself. Two Face should be much higher than 17.

16 Deathstroke Deathstroke is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez. He is a mercenary and assassin who first appeared in The New Teen Titans #2.

He deserves a higher spot although he isn't just a Batman villain. So badass and powerful he took down the entire Justice League, never lost to Batman (mostly), and, of course, inspired DEADPOOL! Can't get better than Deathstroke (unless it's the Joker)

17 Oracle
18 Talia al Ghul Talia al Ghul is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with Batman.

Occasional lover of Batman. She is torn between her father and Batman and between good and evil. Deep down, she has a good heart and has shown this by helping Batman.

I not just voting Talia as the best character ever. I voted her because she's smokin hot! I might vote the Joker on my friend's computer soon!

19 Killer Croc Killer Croc is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman.
20 Red Hood The Red Hood is an alias used by multiple fictional characters and a criminal organization appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics.

Bruh, Red Hood will always be the best iteration of Robin as far as I know. He's the one with the most nuance, conflict and angst compared to the other ones, has a very dynamic relationship with Batman and is overall pretty badass. Oh, and he arguably has the best Batman Animated Film (yes, I prefer UDRH over MOTP). Surprised to see him be this low.

This guy is badass! He needs to get in the top ten!

21 Ventriloquist The Ventriloquist is the name of several fictional characters who are enemies of Batman in the DC Comics Universe.
22 Mad Hatter
23 Wonder Woman Wonder Woman is a fictional superhero created by William Moulton Marston and Harry G. Peter, appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics.
