Top Ten Best Books of All Time

The Contenders: Page 12

221 A Trick of the Light - Lois Metzger
222 Ella Minnow Pea - Mark Dunn
223 The Land of Stories - Chris Colfer

All the Land of Stories books always end with a cliff hanger. No offense but I think no other author has a great mind and thinks like Chris Colfer. It is a shame that the diary of a wimpy kid books top this one.

The third book ended with such a cliffhanger. I mean, the last line probably surprised me more than any other line and left me wanting to know instantly. Awesome book series. Deserves so much higher.

Best book series of all time! The character are so fun and relatable and the writing is so well thought out! I can't wait for the movies to come out!

What’s wrong with people? Nerds read Diary of a Wimpy Kid not proper readers. The Land of Stories books are exciting and very intense. Personally, I love The Hunger Games and Harry Potter, but I think these books are WAYYY better. With cliff hangers at the end of each book, it is very good. Vote for this!

224 The Kite Runner- Khaled Hosseini

Very Intense and helps explain a historic time period in a non boring way

This is one of the most amazing books ever... How come it is not in the list?

A Masterpiece, the first time I shed a tear while reading a book... so need to complement it, it speaks for itself...

Seeing its ranking makes me question my own sanity, but of course, idiots... - Ananya

225 The Iliad - Homer

The First and the best

It tells about the preparing of the Trojan war and tells it in a standpoint as of how ancient Greeks saw the world. So even if it is pretty much mythological is it also somewhat, but still, an accurate story onto how Greeks back then viewed life. The book is also filled with important lessons (mostly about the standpoints of war), excellent plot twists and transitions between different regions of Greek (and even Egypt, but just a few). P.S did you know that it is said that Cleopatra the third had a spiritual relationship with Homeros.

226 Faust - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Goethe's dark take on the Doctor Faustus tale is propably the best known and most important piece of German literature, both as a stage play and in book form, but even without its status, this just has so much to offer; and Goethe's works never shied away from touchy topics, in this case most of all suicidal thoughts and existential crisis, but also religion. Also: several quotes from the book are turned to everyday German phrases. - Martin_Canine

This book is so amazing even though its old and not as easy to understand, I reccomend you give it a shot! I'm reading it at the mountain and its pure poetry!

227 Angels and Demons- Dan Brown

This book is truly a masterpiece.. and the best book I've ever read. It is clear from this book that Dan Brown has put in lot of brains and efforts. I seriously don't understand why this is so low.

228 Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard Sword of Summer - Rick Riordan V 1 Comment
229 Insurgent - Veronica Roth

I love this book so much! It made me so sad when Tris and Four started fighting though. I am so excited to see the movie!

231 Carrie - Stephen King
232 I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings - Maya Angelou

234 The Holy Qur'an

The direct word of God (Allah) revealed upon Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon Him 1400 years ago. And whosoever believes in it and follows shall find Success in this Life and the hereafter.

The best book ever, guidance for mankind and ultimate peace!

Why is this not number one?

A book revealed by the Lord of the worlds as a guidance to humanity. But Alas! humanity is busy enjoying this worlds life and reading other books!
