Top 10 Best Bowling for Soup Songs

This pop-punk band formed back in 1994 in Wichita Falls, Texas, and has been entertaining us with their catchy hooks and often hilarious, yet heartfelt lyrics for nearly three decades now. Comprising vocalist Jaret Reddick, guitarist Chris Burney, bassist Erik Chandler, and drummer Gary Wiseman, Bowling for Soup has created an impressive range of tunes that span genres and moods. From songs that encapsulate the angst and hilarity of teenage years to tracks that delve into the emotional complexities of adult life, they've covered it all.

What makes Bowling for Soup's music so compelling? Is it the way their songs often serve as the soundtrack to your high school memories? Or maybe it's how they're not afraid to infuse humor into topics that could easily be bogged down by melodrama. Their knack for storytelling is also something to admire. Each song is like a mini-narrative, filled with characters you feel like you've met somewhere before. And let's not forget the band's versatility. While their roots are firmly planted in pop-punk soil, they’ve dabbled in various styles over the years, keeping their sound fresh yet familiar.

Now, about this list of best Bowling for Soup songs. What do you think belongs at the very top? Is it their iconic "1985" that makes you reminisce about a different era? Or perhaps a lesser-known gem that struck a chord with you personally?
The Top Ten
1 Girl All the Bad Guys Want

This is the best song, firstly because it's the first of theirs I listened to, and the album (Drunk Enough to Dance) is one of their better ones! Fun video. Also really like Punk Rock 101 and No Hablo Ingles!

How is this not at the top of the list? One of the best pop-punk songs of the last decade. It's like an anthem of the genre. Vote for this!

First Bowling for Soup song that I properly listened to. And I have it on repeat, probably listening about 6 times a day. I really like it, and it's my favorite one so far. For some reason, it reminds me of Albus and Scorpius from HP & the Cursed Child. If you haven't heard this song, make sure to listen to it!

2 1985

Even though it's a close call between 1985 and Girl All the Bad Guys Want, 1985 deserves the top place. Especially liked the music video.

Love it! So many clever references.

Bruce Springsteen, Madonna - way before Nirvana, there was U2 and Blondie, and music still on MTV.

3 High School Never Ends

Love this song! Catchy tune and lyrics that are completely true. Even though it really freaked me out about high school. My cousin told me the exact same things...

I wanted to put When We Die as number 1, but I think even though High School Never Ends is not an emotional song, it really could be the theme song of my life.

Best song ever. Oh! Like seriously, I listen to this all the time and it's just awesome! If you haven't heard it, you haven't lived! Love you, Bowling for Soup, you goddamn geniuses!

4 Almost

It tells the story of a young adult who goes through many almost experiences during his life, from almost making out with the homecoming queen to almost getting addicted to drugs. He shows remorse for not making his move earlier, and he almost wishes she loved him too.

This song is easily their best, although they do have plenty of good songs. For example, "Girl All the Bad Guys Want" is great, as are "My Wena," "1985," "No Hablo Ingles," "Punk Rock 101," etc. Great band.

Classic, hilarious, sweet, and mildly offensive. This song is the perfect introduction to BFS.

5 My Wena
6 No Hablo Inglés

This song has officially helped me in life. Now, whenever I have a problem with someone, I just tell them NO HABLO INGLÉS! and the problem just magically disappears for good. This song should be used to educate kids and adults of all ages, and everyone should listen to it.

This song is amazingly good and fun. The lyrics are great and hilarious. It should be in the top 3, in my opinion. Vote for this song now!

A really fun song to sing when you're in class and extremely bored.

7 Ohio (Come Back to Texas)
8 Stacy's Mom

This version is the best version. A classic.

9 I Ran (So Far Away)
10 The Bitch Song

Why is this song still under the top 10? This is a very spirited song... inspiring me.

The Contenders
11 A-Hole
12 Running From Your Dad
13 Here We Go
14 Punk Rock 101

Punk Rock Academy. Another song with really good lyrics, like 1985 and High School Never Ends.

My favorite song by them. Great lyrics and a really catchy beat.

It's so catchy! Loved it from the first day I heard it. This needs to be in the top 3.

15 Melt With You

Come on, this should be in the top 10. This song is awesome. Yes, it's a cover, but what the hell with that?

Awesome song. It even made it to a movie as the main song and has emotion and feeling to it.

16 Right About Now

Brand-new song from 2013, and their most hyper-exciting song yet! Best song by far, in my opinion!

17 When We Die

Lyrically, their best song. Beautiful story and meaning, with great vocals and music to back it up. Just a perfect song that is extremely underrated.

This song never fails to make me cry like a baby. The lyrics have more meaning than any of their other songs.

Although not as big as the other songs, this song contains much heartfelt meaning.

18 Belgium

Funny and, at the same time, very touching.

19 Today is Gonna Be a Great Day

This song is just like a theme of my childhood. I think it's great to start your morning with it. It is very inspirational (speaking of the full version).

This song brings back so many memories. Why the heck did they cancel this show?

One of the most iconic theme songs for any show, let alone a kids' show.

20 Here's Your Freakin' Song

Laugh out loud. This song is absolutely amazing, and it's funny, too! At least he is honest with his girlfriend. Hear the lyrics as soon as possible!

Great if you have people who hate swears in your life. It's hilarious fun to play it when they are around. Memorized all the words.
