One of the best bands of the 20th century, terrific hits and still excellent music, but without Freddie Mercury, Queen seems to be resting on past glory somewhat. Muse has definitely won their crown now as top band in the 21st century! You can detect some Queen-esque influence in a few Muse hits, especially in their recent album, Second Law. Like Freddie, Matt Ballamy writes hit songs for Muse and the band perform these perfectly together live, interacting marvellously with their audiences!

Absolutely amazing, so many hits

Queen is one of my favorit rock bands so I just want to vote for them

22 The Script The Script The Script is an Irish pop rock band formed in 2001. The band comprises keyboardist and lead vocalist Danny O'Donoghue, guitarist and vocalist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power.

The only band that I've listened to from which I rate every single song. Every single song that this band produces is gold. Other bands, of the like of Coldplay, are class but aren't consistent like the Script. Lyrics really meaningful and brilliant music.

How can anyone forget The Script! They are the best pop music band on this planet right now in my opinion...! Anyone who has listened to a few songs of the script will surely vote for 'em!

What a band the best sound for a long time the words and music go together like sausage and mash tasty as hell easy to digest and leaves you wanting more awesome keep going

The script is the best band in the planet how can anyone forget their songs nothing, breakeven, hall of fame, great vocal by danny oh he is my favourite singer in the world

24 Florence + the Machine

HOW IS THIS BAND NOT ON THE TOP OF THIS LIST? It is the best band EVER. You have to listen to them! They are surreal.

This band developes beautiful harmonies through the song, florence sings so open hearted and strong.

When I meet Florence Welch or Isabella Summers or Chris Hayden or anyone else my life will have meaning

This band is so unique. It really should be on top!

25 Biffy Clyro

I love Muse, Coldplay, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys... but I also love Biffy and they deserve to be alongside those bands. They cut to the crap, producing proper heartfelt rock music. I saw them last year at Isle of Wight, headlining alongside two more of my favourite bands, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Kings of Leon, and they stole the show. They're even better live than recorded. Emotion and talent. Biffy are genius and it's sad they're this low down. Mon the Biff!

If you haven't already heard this band go on youtube and listen to every one of their songs, one of the only modern bands which display unique musical skill along with simon neils lyrical genius. This band changed my life and influences me

One of the greatest bands alive today, and their songs have deep meaning, and are written for a purpose, the most underrated band out, why isn't this at number 1?! The boys deserve more recognition

It's a little scary how low down the list this band is...

Only lil' Wayne is better than black sabbath!

28 Bastille Bastille Bastille are an English indie pop band formed in 2010. The group began as a solo project by singer Dan Smith, who later decided to form a band. Beside Smith, the four-piece consists of Chris Wood, Will Farquarson, and Kyle Simmons.

I found Bastille after Pompeii played on the radio. I listened to all of their other songs and fell in love. Their music is remarkable and the lyrics are very meaningful. They are an amazing band and I think that everyone needs to listen to at least one of their songs other than Pompeii.

Oh my gosh. I love Bastille. I listened to Pompeii and thought it was incredible. So I listened to their whole album, Bad Blood, and thought it was amazing. All the songs are so meaningful. My favorites are Bad Blood, Laughter Lines, and Laura Palmer.

Bastille is just amazing. Literally all their songs are awesome and they also sound great live, which cannot be said about many singers/bands. I started to listen to them probably 4 months ago and instantly fell in love with them. Dan's voice is just incredible.

29 The Wanted The Wanted The Wanted are a British-Irish boy band consisting of members Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes.

I love The Wanted! Their music is great and their personalities are hilarious. Their music gets you in the mood for partying, cleaning, working out, just anything for me And they have some pretty sad/emotional songs as well And they have their mature moments

The Wanted's is just so awesome! All the songs have amazing catchy lines that will never stop you from listening to them. They seem like another bunch of normal 20 to 24 year olds but inside, they're like 4 to 6 yeear olds. They're like a 6 year old child trapped in a 20 to 25 year old's body.

The Wanted are absolutely brilliant! Funny, handsome, cool, excellent music-makers! Their music is fun to listen to, they create sad and party songs both. Very enjoyable.

33 The Fratellis

I'd say these guys are the most under appreciated band of the 21st century. They're fantastic. This band should be much higher.

34 Bloc Party

BP has reached no.9 before any comments are left here. That means, if necessary attention is paid to this genius band, this chart will be better.

This band is great on stage. They might not have as much energy as like, Muse, but Roger Waters loves engaging with the audience and you can tell they love what they do. Plus they're great stage show, like the wall, they buildt an actual wall on stage and had a big pig floating around in the audience.

Love this band, I must have made a wrong turn to be on a website that has some of these sorry groups way ahead of groups with actual talent

First band ever using stereo and developed music to new extends in a time there was as little as Rolling Stones and Abba
