Carcass are a Death Metal/Grindcore band from England, formed in 1985.

Although widely regarded as pioneers of the Grindcore genre, their early work was also tagged as splatter Death Metal, Hardgore, and Goregrind. However, they also became one of the pioneers of Melodic Death Metal with their 1993 album Heartwork.
To date they have 5 Studio albums, 5 EPs, 1 Live album, 1 Split and 4 Compilation albums; in total.
The Top Ten
1 Heartwork

Wast there any doubt this would be first? It's the perfect album good guitar but not too melodic like Swansong (even though it was quite good)

Such a heavy album, it's a masterpiece and must be played each show! Rock on Carcass!

Makes sense that this would be at the top. It's often considered to be the first melodic death metal album ever made and is among the greatest metal albums ever made. Definitely Carcass' magnum opus. - [SD] LordAkira

2 Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious

This is the best by far. Its in Carcass' transision period and combines the aggression of grincore with melody from Amott

3 Symphonies of Sickness

I feel the first 2 albums are very underrated. Everybody hates on them it seems like. It's not just because these albums help launch the Grindcore/Goregrind genres. I trulty think they are solid albums. Symphonies of Sickness especially, this is amazing. Reek was good but the production isn't as good, plus Symphonies contains some of the best Grind anthems. I urge all fans of Carcass to at least give these albums a shot if you haven't already

Symphonies is just great.

4 Surgical Steel

A magnific album with many influences from whole the metal scene

Top 3 material

5 Swansong

I listened to the crap out of this album since the title pretty much said it all.
