Top 10 Best College Quarterbacks of All Time

The Top Ten
1 Tim Tebow Timothy Richard Tebow is an American professional baseball outfielder in the New York Mets organization and a former professional American football player in the National Football League.

Threw a touchdown pass going 1/1 in national championship in 2006, in 2007 he won the Heisman trophy, throwing 32 touchdowns on a 66% completion percentage, rushing for 23 touchdowns as well. In 2008, he threw for 30 touchdowns to only four interceptions, throwing for a 64.4% completion percentage, after losing 31-30 vs Ole miss in week 4, he gave a emotional speech expressing his shame for letting down the fans, and gave a promise that no quarterback in College football would ever work harder than him, or lead a team harder, or a team will work harder than they will. The gators would not lose a game after, winning games 51-21 against no.4 LSU, 49-10 against no.8 Georgia, 56-6 vs no.24 South Carolina, 45-15 vs no.23 Florida State, winning the SEC championship 31-20 vs no.1 Alabama, then winning the national championship game by a score of 24-14. Returning for a senior season, the gators would start 12-0, but lose the SEC championship game 13-32. He would have a remarkable last game, ...more

Tebow is the reason I love football. The way he plays and even with the flaws, it makes every game very exciting. Even in the Pros, when he sucked for almost 3 quarters, everyone including haters were counting down the clock and asking "when is Tebow-time kick in? " and it sure did. The most exciting games in NFL history in my opinion!

All I can say is no one did it like TEBOW... Point blank... How is Cam higher and he was Tebows backup... Let get serious... Don't be so bias because of what is currently going on in their careers so many tebow haters out there just because your tired of hearing about him... Smh.

This is a list of the best college quarterbacks of all-time, tannehill is not one of the best quarterbacks of all time. Even so, Tim Tebow is one if not the most accomplished college football players of all time.

2 Peyton Manning Peyton Williams Manning is a former American football quarterback who played 18 seasons in the National Football League for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos.
3 Deshaun Watson

One of the best college quarterbacks in
CFB history

clutch

Should have won 2 heismans

4 Matt Leinart

37-2 as a starter Heisman winner. Won two national champs and played for a third. Has to be top 10

5 Tommie Frazier

Honestly, what is the purpose of playing football? If your goal is to win games, perform great on the biggest stage, and win championships, then nobody was better than Tommie Frazier. Frazier was a four-year starter, losing only 3 games. Two of his losses were during his freshman year, one of which in the Orange Bowl vs. #7 ranked FSU (he still won the MVP of the game). The third loss was in the Championship game to FSU during his sophomore year (again, he won the MVP award). Frazier didn't lose a single regular season game after his freshman year, and won consecutive undefeated National Championships in his final two-years. He won the MVP award in 4 major bowl games (3 Orange Bowl, 1 Fiesta Bowl), including three consecutive National Championship games.

If all you care about is throwing for a lot of yards, regardless of winning big games, go ahead choose someone else.

3 National Championship game MVP'S. Back to back national championships. The team was 36 - 1 his last 3 years. The 94 Orange bowl loss would have been 3 straight National Championships if replay had been used back then. The calmest, coolest customer under pressure. Rarely ever made a mistake. A true field general. Just ask Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp.

If you actually know anything about college football in the 90s, you'll know how BA this guy was. 33-3 as a starter, two national championships (it should have been three). You must be kidding me that David Green, Matthew Stafford, Blake Bortles, AJ McCarron, and like 90% of the other dudes on this list are on here and not Tommie Frazier.

Back to back national championships. A star on both squads. Also quarterbacked what is widely considered the best college football team to ever take the field 95 Cornhuskers, and was the driving force behind that offense.

6 Vince Young Vincent Paul Young, Jr. is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League for six seasons.

Vince was good - no doubt - but this list has to have Mariotta and the other guy from Baylor named Petty - come on man...

7 Cam Newton Cameron Jerrell Newton is an American football quarterback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He had previously played with the Carolina Panthers from 2011 to 2019.

Aurborn Qb was probably the best ever! He's probably almost the only reason I watch the Panthers! Gonna go deep in the playoffs, then loose right before the superbowl! The Packers and Steelers are going, or the Saints and Colts are going! I hope it's the second one! I love Drew Brees and I love Andrew Luck!

The best I've ever seen in my lifetime.

8 Andrew Luck Andrew Austen Luck is a former American football quarterback who played his entire career for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League.

Probably about right for Luck - maybe a bit lower.

9 Johnny Manziel Jonathan Paul Manziel is an American professional Canadian football quarterback for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. He was drafted by the NFL's Cleveland Browns with the 22nd overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. Towards the end of the 2015 season, Manziel endured numerous scandals, ...read more.

Watching him you couldn't leave the T.V. set until game was over

Then he became one of the worst quarterbacks in NFL history.

The absolute goat and is coming back to the nfl

This guy is legit

10 Roger Staubach Roger Thomas Staubach, nicknamed Captain America and Captain Comeback, is a former American football quarterback in the National Football League.
The Contenders
11 Marcus Mariota Marcus Ardel Tafuna Taulauniu Mariota is an American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League.

If you replaced any of the above qb's with Mariota he outproduces them easily. He would've won a natty if he had been targeting his top 4 wide receivers instead of the 5th string guys who werent even supposed to play until the year after he left. Was a clutch qb and rarely turned the ball over. First ever to have that kind of a touchdown to interception ratio, even when considering all turnovers he didn't even have 10 turnovers his final year and had over 60 total tds. Should be at least top 3 seeing as he outplayed Andrew Luck every time they matched up in college.

How can Mariota not be first! He almost won the national championship, and he was the first Heisman winner at U of O!

O.K. every Ohiho State fan should know this Ohiho State got real lucky that 2 of our starting receivers were hurt and our starting tightend was hurt.

Marriott is awesome favorite about ever let's hope it's #1 pick for fly in hawiin

12 Baker Mayfield Baker Reagan Mayfield is an American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League.

This guy would win games that shouldn't have been won by the Sooners. Extremely fun to watch also

2 best passer efficiency seasons of all time. Second most efficient career passer ever only after Sam Bradford. Take away his walk-on year at Tech and he's the GOAT no doubt

13 Davey O'Brien
14 Robert Griffin III Robert Lee Griffin III, nicknamed RG3, is an American football quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League.

He's gonna be the best rookie this season! I love this guy! The Redskins are my 4th favorite team so him playing for them is a dream come true! Gonna make it close to the playoffs!

He's really good! He should be #1 I don't agree with this list but watching rg3 play is amazing

Griffin is a bit low at 5 in my estimation

15 Case Keenum Casey Austin "Case" Keenum is an American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League.
16 Doug Flutie
17 Drew Brees Drew Christopher Brees is an American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. He is the only player to have back to back to back 5,000 yards in three seasons straight. Brees also has the all time best completion percentage with 66.95%.
18 Steve Young Jon Steven Young is a former professional American football quarterback who played 15 seasons in the National Football League and is best known for his 13 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
19 Trevor Lawrence
20 Kellen Moore

Best winning percentage of all time

21 Danny Wuerffel
22 John Elway John Albert Elway Jr. is a former American football quarterback and current executive vice president of football operations and general manager of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League.
23 Ryan Tannehill Ryan Timothy Tannehill III is an American football quarterback for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. He previously played for the Miami Dolphins from 2012 to 2018.
24 Sam Bradford Samuel "Sam" Jacob Bradford is an American football quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams with the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at Oklahoma and as a redshirt sophomore Bradford became only the ...read more.
25 Matt Barkley

He's a pretty good QB! Probably when he's done with college, will be in the top 3 picks in the draft! Probably 2nd because some of the college players these days are really good!
