Canada is good because its economy is largely unrelated to war, which keeps taxes low. In Alberta, there's no need to pay PST. You can move freely without requiring government permission, and currently, Canada's economy is the most stable. In my opinion, Canada is the land of the free. There's little worry about terrorism, such as planes being blown up. Canada doesn't possess any nuclear weapons, so people don't view us as a threat. It's one of the most peaceful places on Earth.

Canada is awesome. The people are really helpful and polite. There are a lot of immigrants, so they don't care about your nationality or skin color. They are really open to foreigners.

The nature is simply breathtaking. In British Columbia, you have mountains, ocean, and vast pine tree forests all together. There are also a lot of parks and pleasant places in the cities.

The cities are clean and organized, and the services work well. It's really safe. You don't see beggars in the streets or even shantytowns. I am used to this because I live in Brazil, but in Canada, even big cities such as Vancouver have none of that.

Economy and education are pretty good as well. There are a lot of opportunities. It's really peaceful, enjoyable, and nice. I've lived there once and will definitely return. You won't regret visiting Canada.

That stereotype is so not true. Most people here are friendly and will help you if you need it. Other than the enormous amount of political correctness forced on us, we have the freedom to do just about anything as long as it's not abusively illegal.

I live right on the Mexican border, and thousands get through every day. We need jobs and a sane political system, neither Democrats nor Republicans. We need a president who puts American citizens' needs first before special interest groups or foreign nations. Regardless, I wouldn't live anywhere else.

Sweden is the best country to live in. Canada is the worst. Criminals from all over the world live here and prey on Canada. Canada has lax immigration rules and admits all sorts of drug users and criminals, granting them permission to live here. It is a third-class country. There is no place like Europe. Every country in Europe has class. It's clean. If anyone has a chance to live in Sweden, go for it. You will never regret it. It's a beautiful, cultural country, as are all Scandinavian countries. Wow for this beautiful country.

England is the best country in the world. I've been to all of them, and in order of excellence, they are: England, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Australia.

England, and especially London, is unbelievable in comparison. It has the best mix of famous people, rich people, millionaires, billionaires, small businesses, large businesses, and multinational companies. The variety extends to cars, sports cars, art, history, culture, architecture, technology, people, and industry. Even the beaches and countryside are amazing - arguably the most beautiful countryside in the world. The political scene is dynamic, and British journalism is unmatched, with papers like The Spectator setting the standard. Sports like cricket and football are vibrant here, and the proximity to interesting places in Europe is an added bonus. Plus, England has a monarch! It's a bloody brilliant combo!

France is like a dream. We had the chance to go to Tahiti, Moorea, Bora-Bora, and the Marquesas Islands. Besides the fact that these places are simply marvelous and splendid, it's amazing to know that they are part of France.

Here you'll find some of the most beautiful coral reefs (UNESCO-listed) and gorgeous beaches in the world.

France is so diverse, has such a rich culture and history, and offers so many peaceful areas to live in. It truly is a bucolic country.

If you need your BBQ fix, no problem. Here you can eat anything you want because you'll also find cuisine from lots of other countries.

France is second only to the USA in McDonald's locations.

It's true that the French are not the best at speaking English, but they are not the worst compared to some countries around the world.

And most people speak only their own native language, so it's something understandable.

We plan to live there at least half of the time.

Norway consistently ranks in the top ten best nations to live in, and it's easy to see why. It has some of the highest incomes, low crime rates, an excellent healthcare system, a well-educated population, and a humane prison system that successfully rehabilitates offenders. It also has one of the lowest rates of income inequality imaginable. The only thing it lacks is an efficient intercity rail system, but the Norwegian government is working on that. All of these reasons make Norway one of the best nations to live in on the planet.

I live in Canada, and it is becoming a police state. Freedoms of expression, speech, and the right to assemble have been taken from us. There is now a secret police force in operation. The situation is starting to resemble Germany in 1933, specifically with laws like Bill C-51 and C-10. In contrast, Switzerland allows its people to vote on major issues through referendums. The Swiss are generally better educated and feel a sense of responsibility for the governance of their country.

Switzerland is the freest country in the world and has the most competitive economy. It features beautiful nature, friendly people, and a clean environment. It is one of the safest countries globally. In terms of liberal policies, it has relaxed gun laws, freedom of speech, direct democracy, and economic freedom. Switzerland is the best place to live in the world.

I cannot believe this! Did you know Iceland ranked #9 on the Human Development Index? Denmark made #2, Sweden made #5, Canada made #4, and Norway made #1! Do your research before making a list, please. Thanks.

Iceland should be number 1, like, really! Iceland is such a beautiful country with very kind people. It's clean, healthy, and has little to no crime, so it's the best country to live in. It needs to be number 1 on the list.

This is one very attractive nation that has a very good set of houses and is very clean, even though I have not been there yet.

10 New Zealand New Zealand is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean.

New Zealand is a country that, until recently, was very much overlooked. Now, people have started to extend their horizons a bit more and have discovered our little gem at the bottom of the world. It is the kind of place where you can retire and settle down, as it is safe, beautiful, and full of kind and hospitable people. It's also healthy to live in. However, personally, I have found that it is not the kind of place to spend your teen years and early adulthood, as it is not exactly party central. But from your 30s onward, it's absolutely perfect. My kind of paradise, I love the land of the long white cloud, and I can assure you that it certainly lives up to its expectations - perhaps it even exceeds them.

Germany has a strong economy, gorgeous landscapes, and the best food in the world. It is also the safest place to be. The people who reside there possess many virtues and kind spirits. We help bolster the economies of our fellow European nations and provide jobs for Greeks who are moving in. We are forgiving toward other nations and pay our debts quickly and efficiently. Politically, almost nothing goes wrong. We always have a caring and helpful chancellor. We are not greedy and are willing to help anyone in need. We welcome people of all races into our borders and warmly invite them into our cities.

Somehow, here in Denmark, you will earn more money compared to other countries, which will raise your purchasing power and quality of life. Although you pay high taxes, wages are well paid. Moreover, tax money plays a significant role in social value as well. Here, everything is more organized and centralized. In a word, you will be happy here.

Denmark is the best country because people have such a friendly sentimentality. The taxes are high due to free health care and free education, and we have the right to get something called SU, which is what students live on when they take an education.

13 Finland Finland, officially the Republic of Finland, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. It shares land borders with Sweden to the northwest, Norway to the north, and Russia to the east, with the Gulf of Bothnia to the west and the Gulf of Finland across Estonia to the south. Oh, there are many reasons. Finland is the best country to live in for pregnant moms, families, and kids. Finland offers free healthcare, and if you need treatment, you will get it. What about education? It's free as well, and one of the best education systems out there. We have good gun control laws, and there is no corruption. The government is chosen by the people and makes decisions for the common good. It's a liberal country. For example, equal marriage is now possible in Finland. Finland is more than a safe country to live in. There are so many other reasons as well why Finland is the best country to live in. The nature, with its lakes and forests, is absolutely stunning.

These territories include most of Central and South America, large parts of the United States, and numerous island countries throughout the Caribbean and Pacific Oceans.

The people are incredibly friendly. You can make a friend at a bar, and within an hour, you'll have a friend for life. Really! That stranger will open his or her home to you in the future and continue the relationship as if you had just met.

Madrid is like no other city in the world. Where else is it normal to eat dinner at 10 p.m. while the sun is still setting, hop from tapas bar to tapas bar, stay in the streets until 4 a.m., work for half of the day, go home to eat a large lunch, take a nap, return to work, and then do it all over again?

15 Japan Japan is an island country in East Asia in the Pacific Ocean. It lies off the eastern coast of the Asia Mainland (east of China, Korea, Russia) and stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and near Taiwan in the southwest... read more

Well, let me fix that. 14th? No, no, it should be 5th or, if possible, 3rd! I believe Scandinavia and New Zealand are still better, but 5th for Japan can be possible. This is because I mentioned something that might seem like a large amount, but it's not. Scandinavia has 5 (or 4. Sorry if I'm mistaken) countries, and with the addition of New Zealand, wait, I take that back. Scandinavia is close to strong countries like Russia, France, and Germany. It's also possible that Scandinavia could get invaded. Additionally, it has a low level of corruption. Yes, you heard that right. Also, the homicide rate is low. Even if the suicide rate is one of the highest, as long as you're not depressed, it's not really a problem. You can live pretty comfortably for a long time with a low crime rate. Japan is one of the most secure countries with high technology, as well as a life expectancy of around 80! Compare that to the USA's 69 or 70! (Sorry if I offended someone. I didn't mean to.) Anyway, that's all I have to say for now.

16 Ireland Formed in 1916 after the Easter uprising, Ireland is a small country with a population of roughly 5 million.

I live in Ireland and can safely say it's one of the best places to live, and I've traveled a lot! There's good culture, the people are friendly, and it has always been a neutral country, making it very peaceful with no enemies. The standards of education are great, from infants to university. The scenery is beautiful and the climate is good, although it rains a bit more than perhaps desired. The land is very fertile and there is no shortage of sun either! Not to mention that there are great facilities all over the country. It's our own country and always has been. We didn't steal it from natives, we are the natives! Overall, it has a great standard of living.

It is the largest of four constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Netherlands consists of twelve provinces, and borders Germany to the east, Belgium to the... read more

The Netherlands is one of the best countries, if not the best, for taking care of the handicapped. I myself am on the border of being handicapped. I have a few minor issues, but they still make studying and working very difficult due to the pressure. Even though I understand perfectly well what to do, the pressure causes me to make many small mistakes. Although they are not significant, they are still borderline important. Nevertheless, in the Netherlands, I receive special payments because the cause of my difficulties is a handicap.

18 Brazil Brazil, officially the Federative Republic of Brazil, is the largest country in both South America and Latin America. At 8.5 million square kilometers (3,300,000 sq mi) and with over 214 million people, Brazil is the world's fifth-largest country by area and the sixth most populous. Its capital is Brasília,... read more

I live in Brazil but travel mostly to Europe and other South American countries. I can certainly say that our food is the best in the world. It's a mix of Italian, German, Portuguese, African, and Native American foods that make it simply perfect.

We have great nature - rainforests, rivers, amazing beaches - and a very nice climate. We have no international issues or wars.

The only problems are government corruption, the rising cost of living, and violence in the big cities. In the smaller ones, you can enjoy a very high standard of living, especially in southern Brazil, which is considered a mini Europe-like region in terms of climate (colder) and quality of life. I recommend the smaller cities in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina states, with low crime rates, high quality of life, and great landscapes!

19 Greece Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, is a country in Southeast Europe. It is situated on the southern tip of the Balkans, and is located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa. Greece shares land borders with Albania to the northwest, North Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north, and Turkey... read more

Greece is amazing in all aspects. It has a bad economy at the moment, but that could change. If all of us Greeks came back home to improve the country and address the issue of illegal border crossings that lead to theft and damage to our cities and islands, things would change. We could be proud of our country like Melina Mercouri was. We wouldn't need to ask for money from Germany or the EU. We could sustain ourselves through tourism and agriculture, as well as exports. It's something to think about. Great place!

Greece is a great country. It's a country with a rich history, boasting some of the greatest islands and friendly people. Additionally, the Greek people have one of the most significant histories of all. They initiated the Olympics with the ceremonial fire and were pioneers in culture. For countries who may dislike Greece, it's important to remember that our country - Greece - founded much of the culture you know today, at a time when your ancestors were still discovering these concepts.

20 Italy Italy (Italian: Repubblica Italiana) is a sovereign state and unitary parliamentary republic in south-central Europe.

Italy is a great country with a lot of history on its shoulders. Many say it has the best food in the world. Even though that is very subjective, Italian food summarizes the Italian culture: classy, creative, and full of love. Italians really love their food and lifestyle.

In fact, the most fascinating thing is how Italians are able to seize the day and get the best out of their lives. The sense of family, the appreciation for good food, history, art, music, fashion, and wine - these are all ingredients that Italians use to create, in my view, one of the best lifestyles on Earth. It is great to admire how they express their culture in what they do, from the elegance of an Armani suit to the masterful manufacturing of a Ferrari.

21 Austria Austria was Celtic (Hallstadt) then as Noricum, part of the Roman Empire, Alaric, who took over Rome, studied at a monastery near Vienna. Simply stunning. I've traveled all over Europe, and Austria is the most beautiful country I've seen and experienced. The cities are clean, friendly, happy, and gorgeous. People appreciate and value their living space. It's a great environment for families. Rural areas of Austria, like Tirol and Pinzgau, are incredible. Breathtaking scenery, awesome skiing, and even better in the summer. Austria is better known for wonderful skiing in the winter, but summer is also a great time of the year to experience other mountain sports. Overall: 9.8/10.

22 Portugal Portugal (est.1152), officially the Portuguese Republic, is a country located mostly on the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. It is the westernmost country of mainland Europe, bordered to the west and south by the Atlantic Ocean and to the north and east by Spain. Its territory also includes... read more

Living in Portugal is very easy! People are nice and friendly. You can live the best of both worlds as the capital, Lisbon, offers an urban city lifestyle, while further up north you can enjoy the villages and countryside. Best air quality, best food, best prices, best people, and best weather. Amazing sights and picturesque landscapes. Portugal offers a lot of beaches, such as the Algarves. Surfing world championships are held there due to the amazing beaches and great waves. There's hearty, home-cooked food everywhere you turn. Lisbon, the capital, is one of the oldest cities in the world but still maintains its urban charm. The country has beautiful summers and magical winters. What could get better than that?

23 South Korea South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea (ROK), is a country in East Asia, constituting the southern part of the Korean Peninsula and sharing a land border with North Korea. Its western border is formed by the Yellow Sea, while its eastern border is defined by the Sea of Japan. South Korea claims... read more

I don't get why South Korea is the most hated Asian country of all time. South Korea is really unique to me. Their cuisine is something special, their shopping malls are high-class, and their form of martial arts is really safe - you don't have to worry about Japanese karate. Their arcades are really special, and their hotels are 5-star places to stay in. South Korea is also home to the world's largest Christian Church.

It's very convenient to live there. There are 24-hour marts, shopping malls, and food options. They deliver anything to you or even pick it up for you. The transportation and buildings are high-tech, and the environment is great. Public transportation is super clean and cheap - you will find food anywhere.

24 Singapore Singapore, officially known as the Republic of Singapore, is a sovereign island city-state in maritime Southeast Asia. It is situated approximately one degree of latitude (137 kilometers or 85 miles) north of the equator, off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. It borders the Strait of Malacca... read more

Damn! What the hell is this? Singapore should be the best Southeast Asian country to live in! It deserves to beat all the other SEA countries when it comes to the best countries to live in. I don't agree that Singapore only lands in 31st place. It should be in the top 27. The higher the ranking, the better and safer the country to live in. So please do root for SG! It's SEA's #1 best country to live in!

I feel that this list is not accurate. The larger the population in one country, the more people will be able to vote for their country. The best way to find out where to live is to go to a country and experience it yourself or ask the locals in the area. One more thing: Singapore is one of the best Asian countries to live in.

25 United Arab Emirates The United Arab Emirates, or simply the Emirates, is a country in Western Asia (The Middle East). It is located at the eastern end of the Arabian Peninsula and shares borders with Oman and Saudi Arabia, while having maritime borders in the Persian Gulf with Qatar and Iran. It's a great country to live in, with a peaceful environment and many entertaining things to do all over. Economically, it's one of the best places to live in, and it's easy to work your way up to your goals, especially when there is little to no tax at all.

The United Arab Emirates is the best country ever because it's very safe, and the skyscrapers in Dubai are amazing, like the Burj Khalifa! People are not bossy, and there are loads of shops. There's a variety of houses, hotels, and apartments!

I visited Abu Dhabi for 2 weeks and didn't want to leave! I was really shocked to see such a crime-free country. I am from the US, and you don't see women pushing baby strollers at 2:00 AM.

Beautiful city, friendly people, and everyone spoke English.
