My personal opinion is that Aphex Twin should be at Number 2, second only to Daft Punk. Anybody that has a passion for electronic music would agree I feel.

Aphex Twin revolutionized electronic music. Sure he hasn't sold as many records as Skrillex or Deadmau5 but he's a genius that injects a much needed heart and soul into the electronic scene.

The guy's been doing what he actually loves since '85. He's not as popular as he should be but Skrillex who's above him actually took much from Richard David James. And kudos to Aphex for "coming out of shadows" and releasing Syro and getting a Grammy for best Electronic Album of the Year in 2014. If you've ever heard of Ambient you can thank Aphex Twin and Bryan Eno for being the greatest pioneers of the genre. Aphex is also a major pioneer of Acid and Drum and Bass, and don't say that Drukqs isn't one of the most creative albums ever... Richard you're my favorite artist period. Thanks for sharing your passion and ingenious work with the world

Aphex twin produces amazing beautiful and emotional music. I have no problem with daft punk but Owl city? Come on people. Deadmau5 is pretty good but he isn't among the ranks of Aphex twin. I think everybody who voted for owl city should go out and listen to aphex twin now to change their mind. This is great music.

Daft Punk I can understand but deadmau5 and skrillex are higher? Come on Aphex Twin changed electronica for what it is! His songs are so unique and interesting, if you haven't heard his songs then please go listen right now. You don't know what you're missing!

I feel bad about this, because Daft Punk is awesome too, but the diversity of the genres Richard has worked in are unbelievable. Everything from jungle to modern classical to ambient (of course). His catalog is daunting, but absolutely amazing if you're willing to check it out.

Stupid children. Do they no realise one of Skrillex's biggest influences is Aphex Twin? Why on Earth is this electronic genius at number 9? This ought to be bumped up considerably.

Problem for me is that when he's good, he is the most influential, "ahead of his time" artist out there (bar BOC maybe). When he's bad (his drill'n'bass stuff, for example) he's unlistenable. To expect people to buy his more experimental stuff is asking for trouble. SAW 85-92 was a breath of fresh air. SAW 2 was, in my opinion, more about marketing (titles for the tracks? Nope, we'll make them "textures". Good luck with that) and making money. The actual record (which wasn't very good IF EVERYONE IS BEING HONEST) was secondary Really. Stick with that remix thing he did instead.

This guys at position number 4?... Aphex is the electronic music king, people need to realize the intense amount of creativity this artist has been putting into the music (and since the 80s), so versatile, prolifically talented... RAW genius!

Aphex Twin truly deserves this spot. I'm happy that he and Daft Punk are on the top 10, as I see a bit of a correlation between the newness of the artist and their spot on the list, which makes this list a bit inaccurate, but that's alright.

A true original under any name he uses. Probably should be a space or two higher.

I know these guys didn't put Skrillex and Deadmau5 above Aphex yo. Shrillex is cool for what he does, but I don't think he's near top 5. Deadmau5 is just overrated in general, his music isn't that good outside a couple standout tracks. Aphex arguably set down the foundations for what most of these guys do, and probably did it better than any of them. Daft Punk easily deserves #1 however.

In the mid 1990s Aphex Twin did some of the best Music ever created. All genres, not only Electronic music. And Aphex Twin is probably the biggest pioneer in Electronic Music.

The three words I would use to describe Aphex Twin's music is experimental, other-worldly and ingenious. The fact that he comes after Skrillex is a travesty.

Literally the most innovative and talented artists of this entire genre. If you've never heard of him, you will not understand how much impact he has.

Unlike everyone else on this list, Aphex Twin actually pushed art to new grounds and pioneered the modern electronic music sound and format

It's funny because everyone above Aphex Twin on this list usually was inspired by something he did or took one of his original ideas...go figure

Aphex Twin should be number one. Daft Punk is great and all, but Aphex's music is absurdly complex and well thought out.

Literally carried the whole electronic genre on his back... His sounds and rhythms are so unique, and he puts more effort into his music than any other electronic artist. If you say you like electronic music and you don't know Richard D. James, I am ashamed of you. Although he is less known than the other top three, he deserves to be at least #2 (Daft Punk may be more impactful, but I still like Aphex Twin better).

Daft Punk: okay mainstream electropop... Catchy...
Owl City: Fireflies is supposed to be this whiny little false artist's masterpiece, but it's just one wimpy fantasy amongst all the other songs that this guy come up with, not to mention that his musicality is uninspiring, basic, terrible. The keyboards sound like garbage, everything is so thin.

Aphex Twin: Every one of his album is a distinctive and mysterious journey of raw emotion embedded with style, colors, textures. The variety of soundscapes is off the bounds and none of them sound like they belong on Earth. Every song speaks to you, inspires you. It touches so many lyrical grounds whilst having no lyrics whatsoever. The flowing beauty of S.A.W. vol 2 that evolves and rains down on you... Crawls under your skin... Enthralls you. The sparkling resonance of your own life that you see in Richard D. James Album. The brutally sad emotional assault throughout Drukqs, from the quiet piano compositions to the monster drum and ...more - PinkflASHES

Aphex Twin is WAY better than Owl City (in my opinion), for starters, he has been around way better than Owl City, and made a break-through in the electronic music genre, he is all around better, and makes way better soudning music, owl city is just your average techno-pop whiny artist, go aphex twin - joelandrewp

If it weren't for Aphex Twin, there would be no Daft Punk or Skrillex, who regarded Aphex Twin as their biggest influence.

Aphex Twin deserves to be #1. Daft Punk is incredible as well, but Aphex Twin is untouchable.

The man is pretty much an electronic composer. He puts most of these other artists at the top to shame.

Apex Twin is in a league of his own. He is by far the best electronic artist with Squarepusher coming a close second. Why is Square pusher not on this list? Probably because who ever made this list knows nothing.

Should be 2 behind Daft Punk, much better than overrated Deadmau5 and Skrillex easily
