The Contenders: Page 3

41 The Chainsmokers
42 Gary Numan Gary Numan

Give Gary attention, guys. He's excellent. - PositronWildhawk

No 32 really! Gary numan is the god of synth pop and should be in the top 5 at least

Popularised electronic music, number 1 singles and albums, other acts followed. Game changer, changed the direction of popular music. Bona fide music legend.

Is this list a joke.Gary Newman in top three.

44 Flux Pavilion

This definitely deserves the highest appreciations, he's so good!
Check out "Mountains and molehills", "The scientist", "Lines in Wax", "Louder", "I can't stop" or "Gold dust".
They're all insane! I love this guy!

...27. WHAT! This insane! This guy deserves a higher spot on the list. Listen to 'gold dust' or 'freeway' and be amaze

45 Skream

Skream was the one who started all of the dubstep way back when he released his first studio album Skream! Now he's moved onto bigger and better things, focusing mainly on Drum and Bass, where he performs often to large sell-out clubs and festivals. I personally have seen him live in Nottingham, and can safely say it was one of the best nights out I've ever had. I look forward to seeing him again soon!

Underground success, dubstep pioneer and mainstream "sell out" success - I don't personally like his more chart orientated music but there's no denying that he should be counted a one of the greatest by both purists and those looking at popularity. Skream - Skream is definitely one of the best albums in electronic music history in my opinion

48 Gorillaz Gorillaz Gorillaz are an English virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. The band consists of four animated members: 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs.
49 Antoine Lavenant
50 The Avalanches

Quite sad that this electronic group are so far down the list. Should be in the top 30 at least - Jiorl

51 Lemon Jelly

You really really need to listen to lemon jelly only three albums but each one class and listen to breeze block from radio one 35 minutes of genius

52 Digital Rust
53 Peer Van Mladen Peer Van Mladen

Like peer van mladen

54 Infected Mushroom Infected Mushroom

VERY complex, emotional, dark music that is truly unique in composer. This is by should be way above Avicii at least. I feel this list was made mostly by Americans who don't dig through the internet for thoughtful music...

HOW is this way down here? I guess you just haven't heard it...

Extremely underrated. Check them out if you haven't.

Greatest EDM group. Period. The most consistent, and varied. Listen to Poquito Mas for example. Like with many of their tracks. With any other artist this song would have been split up into an entire album. I'm manage to compress so much into their tracks, and make it work.

55 Benny Benassi

I think that he's just awesome when it comes techno and electronic and let's not forget about what a hit Satisfaction was and come on the guy's a legend

56 The Knife

Just awesome. Also, Fever Ray

57 Amon Tobin

Amon Tobin is awesome and unique. If you like Aphex Twin, Orbital, Boards of Canada, The Orb and the like, you'll like Amon Tobin. Or if you like Jazz, give Amon Tobin's Bricolage a listen. Or if you just came here to upvote your current favorite top-40 EDM (read: progressive house) or dubstep dj, you should listen to Amon Tobin anyway. After you've listened to Leftfield or Burial respectively that is (and Kraftwerk for that matter, and Brian Eno, and I could go on), because you all sound like self proclaimed Rock fans who don't know The Beatles.

58 KMFDM KMFDM KMFDM is an industrial band led by German multi-instrumentalist Sascha Konietzko, who founded the group in 1984 as a performance art project.
59 Madeon

Madeon is basically a prodigy when it comes to electronic music. His production skills and understanding of sound design are literally out of this world. I mean have you listened to his debut album? It's EASILY on par with, if not better than Porter Robinson's 'Worlds' and the guy is only a mere 20 years old! Also, was anybody else around when he was pumping out mind boggling remixes at the tender age of 16? I mean, the guy is just amazing...

To be honest Madeon is literally 2x younger than many of these artists and he's making music just as good, or better. He has a distinct style to his songs, which is hard to find nowadays with many artists using the same kinds of sounds.

Madeon definitely deserves to be in the top ten. He is an extremely talented producer with very original synths and melodies, and not to mention much younger than other producers. I can listen to the Adventure album forever and never get tired of it. He is simply one of a kind.

I was absolutely amazed when I first knew about his age. He started with a mashup video on YouTube and has been on the way to the top ever since. Can't wait to see where he'll be in a few years.

60 Autechre

I thought Orbital being low on the list was bad enough, but Autechre at #121 is just insulting. "Flutter" is genius.

They've done everything electronic, just not in the most straightforward ways. Must listen.

Autechre is better than most of the artists on this list period!

10+ albums, first album produced in 1993. Amazing dark ambience and true creative electronic sounds, not some pop DJ. Ya'll is trifling.
