Top 10 Best English Dubs of Anime

The Top Ten
1 Cowboy Bebop Cowboy Bebop is a 1998 anime television series animated by Sunrise featuring a production team led by director Shinichirō Watanabe, screenwriter Keiko Nobumoto, character designer Toshihiro Kawamoto, mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane, and composer Yoko Kanno.

I just caught an episode on T.V. again after more than 12 years, and you know what? The voice performances still hold up really well, but particularly Ed's voice- SO WELL SUITED! Can't think of this character without that voice...

This is the best english dub you will ever hear and I 100% recommend watching the dub of Cowboy Bebop instead of the Japanese version.

This anime set up all English dubs by being the first to be perfect. I think it should be #1 for its legendary step in anime.

2 Fullmetal Alchemist Fullmetal Alchemist is an anime series adapted from the manga of the same name by Hiromu Arakawa. It is about two brothers, Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric, trying to restore their bodies after failing at bringing their mother back to life. It aired in 2003 and was remade as Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood in 2009.

This is the only series that I think can rival and even surpass Bebop for dubbing. The 03 dub was already solid with amazing performances worthy of praise, and then Brotherhood somehow managed to SURPASS it. In short, my vote is for FMA simply because they got the perfect dub not once but twice.

It's absolutely perfect. Every voice fits each character so well, it's (in my opinion) better than the Japanese dub.

Amestris simply looks like a west european country in the past.

3 Death Note Death Note is a Japanese television drama anime series based on the manga series of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The show is centered around Light Yagami - a promising highschooler and aspiring detective with a strong sense of "justice".

Amazing, so perfect, way better than the Japanese!

4 Code Geass Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, often referred to as simply Code Geass, is a Japanese anime series created by Sunrise, directed by Gorō Taniguchi, and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, with original character designs by manga authors Clamp.

Codw geass is one of the best anime ever made! Aside from it is made with factual basis, it also has the right mixture of family matters and romance... Go CODE GEASS!

It was first broadcast in Japan on April 1, 1997, in the United States on September 8, 1998.

I find this dub to be heavily underrated (both 4Kids and TPCI) but it is still rather flawed in a few areas.

This is a very underrated English dub indeed (I'm referring to the current TPCI/DuArt Dub). Not NEARLY as bad as people say it is.

15 Ghost Stories

Do not watch the Japanese version of this. It's boring, lame, and caused Studio Pierrot to lose a LOT of money. This is why the studio told ADV films (before they went under) to do whatever they wanted dubbing so they could make up the money we lost. So we basically got the only official abridged series to ever exist, and it is hilarious. If you ever want a good laugh, watch the dub of this.

This entire thing was genius. The voice actors behind this truly gave off the comedic tone that they were clearly going for, and it turned around a completely terrible series to being one of the funniest comedies out there. Please, similarly to what the others say, watch the dub of this. It makes the whole series so much more enjoyable.

This LITERALLY needs to be number one in this list! I'm not even joking! The Japanese Version of this anime is garbage! The English Dub made it SO much more worth the watch. Seriously.

21 My Hero Academia

This dub should be a bit higher in my opinion. I really enjoy Izuku Midoriya and everyone else's voices. I'm on Season 2 Episode 22 of MHA and I'm loving it and can't wait to start binging Season 3. I haven't seen the Japanese Version yet cause I don't like reading subtitles but I just really like this anime. Highly recommend!

The first time I saw the anime dubbed I was speechless, I thought an anime like MHA wouldn't have a good dub. Man was I wrong. Every single character's voice fit so perfectly. Try finding a better dub, go on, I'll wait

Yes, what would we do without those amazing accents. Also I love that there is a lot more comedy in the dub, and they actually add words from that specific countries language (I don't remember seeing that in the sub).

Them accents. They're so stereotypical, yet so accurate!
