Best Epic/Fantasy Book Series of All Time

The Contenders: Page 2

21 The Mortal Instruments - Cassandra Clare

I'm ten and I love the mortal instruments. I read all the books. My favorite one was the city of lost souls. It had such a weird twist to the tale, I mat say, Cassandra really convinced me that she's the best writer.

Clare just took urban fantasy to a whole new level. Great characters, great character development, dialogue, plot, and everything. I love the concept and execution. Cheers to her!

I don't think it's the best, I voted cause it's in my top 5
It's just amazing, breathtaking and fun

Best series ever! Sooo addicting and they never get boring

22 Discworld Series - Terry Pratchett

Ha! I despaired of finding a book series I truly found worthy in this list, yet here, at the very end, is one I approve of. Hilarious, inventive, not stuck up its own arse about "saving the world from the dark lord" or anything so cliche as that. A real gem.

I am a little disappointed that The Black Company isn't on the list.

Philosophical, witty, funny and just brilliant. Pratchett brilliant satires our world through his mesmerising cast of characters (indeed, he was the only author of the century capable of taking Swift's crown as King of Satirists) and shows us that funny and serious are not opposites and can coexist.

Seriously? 39th. Discworld is the only series I have found that is equally funny and well written with enough action and magic to keep me wanting more.

How twe heck that is at 26 place - Aleksei

23 Magic Tree House - Mary Pope Osborne
24 Mistborn Series - Brandon Sanderson

One of the best series I've ever ever read

A bleak word where ash falls from skies, the world is black and soot covered, nothing is green, but red and brown and black. A dirty city ruled by a powerful villian. Innovative magic that actually makes sense and is with its powers and drawbacks, political intrique, sensible plot, endearing leads, inner conflicts of the point of view characters. Each book builds up to a powerful satisfying climax. This alongwith Stormlight archive is a series every fanatasy readers should read.

27 Land of Oz Series - L. Frank Baum
28 Conan Series - Robert E. Howard
29 Ranger's Apprentice - John Flanagan

These books are impossible to put down, they are so good. I read the series in 2 months, and there are ten books at least. They are humorous, action packed, and are addicting also!

Pure genius. I love this series. There are so many action scenes and the description is amazing. I've read the series twice and I can't wait to read the next and last book of the series, the royal ranger.

The best book ever! So exciting and sometimes it makes me cry! Even better than Harry Potter! I love RA. I've been scolded by my mom because I kept reading it

Just as a note, the first book is a little boring, but it gets better after that. - KingofHoundooms

30 The Kingkiller Chronicles - Patrick Rothfuss

Can't believe this series is at 30. Though its still not complete it redefines epic adventure through beautiful prose and character development. This one is steeped with richness read it now!

The writing is so beautiful and fluent that it is almost one long song, which you can't wait to hear the next part of.

One of the best fantasy books I have ever read. And I have covered most of the Top Ten.

I'm dying waiting for the third book!

31 Warriors Series - Erin Hunter

The first fantasy story I ever read where there's action, adventure, and even some romance between the characters. At the end of the "Omen of the Stars" series I cried because it had ended.

This deserves a way better spot. The perfect blend of exciting battles, unbreakable friendships, romance, honorable characters, and suspenseful endings that will rattle you to the very core.

The endings of each book bring goosebumps up and down my arms.

34 Halo Series - Eric Nylund

These books are awesome. They help expand the halo mythos while also going into personalities of characters like Master Chief that aren't explored in the games.

35 Red Wall Series - Brian Jacques

These books are amazing! They pulled me in when I read the first page, and you don't have to read them in order, you can read them in any order you want, and it will make sense in any of those ways.

36 Empire Trilogy - Raymond E. Feist and Janny Wurts

Absolutely awesome read. Your drawn into the characters from the 1st page...

37 The Kane Chronicles - Rick Riordan
38 Rift War Series - Raymond E. Feist

Still one of my favorite series, right up there with Lord of the RIngs. Raymond Feist is a master author who brings his land and people to life.

A must read leaves Tolkien standing

39 Septimus Heap - Angie Sage

Hello this is the best books ever known to man kind

It is one of the most underrated fantasy series for young teens and adults...! Please do read it and experience the thrill... People ignore it thinking it to be a copy of the Harry Potter series but it do have many original ideas and fantasy elements, after reading about them one would wish those kinds of magic and brilliance of imagination existed in other magical fantasy series. Wish you liked my comment and felt a little motivated to explore another Harry Potter like magical world...šŸ˜Š
