Best European Countries to Live In
The Contenders: Page 2
Beautiful and varied climate, nice people (very respectful and honest with their feelings), great food, peaceful, very little racism, no terrorism, vendors are very honest and don't rip off tourists even when given ample opportunity (I would deliberately try to overpay by pretending not to be familiar with the currency, and they'd always correct me and give me the correct change.), Responsible for Ronaldo, Nani, Nelly Furtado, Jose Mourinho, Tom Hanks, etc... Great wines and very inexpensive. The people are humble - they don't know how great their country is and always down play it. Consequently, most people have no idea what Portugal has contributed to the rest of the world because Portuguese people are not show-offs. Unlike the Italians whom have the habit of taking credit for other cultures' ideas and inventions. Uggghh.
I think Portugal is a beautiful place to live. I've been there before and thinks it's very calm and peaceful.
Amazing food, amazing culture, amazing scenery, AMAZING PORTUGAL! Language can be difficult to understand in the beginning but you'll pick it up. Cost of living is cheap but on the downside, the wages are lousy.

Beautiful rural areas, although in my opinion less developed than England
More Castles than StarBucks
A country blessed with gorgeous nature and landscapes, from beaches with cool summer vibes to mountain peaks and great ski resorts. People are friendly and welcoming, always willing to help. Very vibrant big cities with bustling night life, lots of things to do, lots of big multinationals have put their base here. One of the best internet connections worldwide. Low rentals and low cost of living.
Romania is very nice country especially the people, very religious. Pray is their conversation to God. They always go to church everyday and praise God. I have a boyfriend there, I'm too excited to marry him.
Really? I've been to Romania, and I must say that I found a lot of racism, poverty, and corruption. Lots of beggars, people trying to rob you or pick your pockets. Went to a supermarket, and the produce was all either old or half rotten. Education is terrible. I felt most comfortable with the Hungarians that were in the country. I must say, I went to Hungary afterwards, and it was honestly a breath of fresh air. However, I will give Romania credit for having beautiful nature.

We've been to 10 European countries and Hungary tops them all. Beautiful landscapes just as in the fairy tales. Clean air, organised environment, historical buildings and sites are kept well. Low cost but quality living. Nice and friendly people.V 5 Comments
Honestly beautiful, with amazing people and the best food
Multi lingual great weather and great food!
Beautiful country, good food. Relaxed lifestyle. All that you can have when on holiday, though more difficult to reach when you live there, as salaries are low.
People are sucks, they hate each other not to talk of foreign. Please don't come here. They are far behind.
This is a really good country should be at least at the 20s position
I live here. Some people are very nice, and some...well...pretty aggresive. But its culture, etnographic regions, its food, its history is just amazing( unlike USA's *nerd laugh* ). A lot of people are poor. They even go to Poland to shop for cheaper. Weather is like in GB, but in Lithuania's summer it rains less and is more sunny than GB's. Overall it's a great country with minuses and pluses.V 1 Comment

Serbia is great. If you think of taking a trip somewhere, go to Serbia

Beautiful country with a rough history dealing with turkish rule and then communism; good mix of cute small towns and well developed modern architecture in big cities. Very cheap to spend time here on vacation, or buy property!
Absolutely beautiful place. Lovely people..wish I could live there
Pretty shallow and honestly creepy country
One of the best country for living in Europe. Cheap prices for food, accommodation. Cities are clean and nature is beautiful. I am always happy when I can come back.

By the way, part of Turkey (the part where Istanbul is) is in Europe. The rest is in Asia. - drdevil
Wonderful weather, warm people, very good nature, Amazingly various food culture and its not expensive. Very nice. I love it
Turkey isn't even European. There is a reason Turks aren't considered European. Only a small part of Turkey is in Europe. So technically this shouldn't be in the list - SirSkeletorThe3rd
