Listening to this song RIGHT NOW! Their new album is amazing and this is easily the best song in it along with carpe diem. Hope this song makes the top 10 its so good. Most people don't have the new album yet so I urge them to get it, I like the tune of this song. Its amazing.

The new tune is amazing. A totally fresh Green Day song

Great song. Reaching at rank 1 billboard so quickly after its release.

One of my favorites needs to be top twenty

44 Going to Pasalacqua

Why was this song not on the list? It's a great song from the earlier times of Green Day's career and really deserves to be on the list

One of Green Days trademark early songs. This song sums up their sucess they were going to to shortly recieve afterwards. Green Day FOR LIFE!

Brilliant both musically and lyrically. "Well I throw away my past mistakes and contemplate my future." Should be in the top 5.

All the new Green Day stuff is kinda lacking, in my opinion. This song is so great and relatable. It's got a great tune, what more could you want?

45 Viva la Gloria? (Little Girl)

This at least deserves a spot in the top 20. It is one of Green Day's most thought-provoking songs that has many hidden lyrics in it. I love their music and this song is one of the best reflections on their music, their style, and their work. Shame to see it is not at least in the top 20.

"RUNAWAY! FROM THE RIVER TO THE STREAM! And find yourself with your face in the gutter. YOU'RE STRAY FROM THE SALVATION ARMY! THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME... When you've got no place to go. "

This is the song I was able to listen to for 8 hour straight going to lake tahoe, of course it's the best song ever and deserves to be in the top 10 ;D

An amazing song

46 Are We the Waiting

Amazing song! And when it starts after Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, it feels soothing.

How is this at number 85? This is the best one!

Definitely in the top ten green day songs! Each element of the song comes in at a different time, like Longview, but it is such a beautiful song about uncertainty, the perfect followup to BoBD. The lyrics are succinct, but each phrase has a strong meaning. Need I mention BJ's heartfelt performance on Bullet in a Bible?

The beauty of this song is it's appeal to any generation. It immediately appeals to the younger kids with its punchy riff and in-your-face lyrics but you appreciate it more as you grow older. It's a self-reflective coming to grips with growing older song but with a punk rock attitude. "I was a young boy that had big plans, now I'm just another s***** old man" and "Wasted youth and a fistful of ideals, I had a young and optimistic point of view" sum up the son and pretty much every 20-something's life that is listening to it. One of Green Day's hidden treasures.

I LOVE this song, to me, it's one of the best songs on Nimrod, and maybe the best in general!
I had an young and optimistic point of view...

The best Green Day song by far. Love the guitar solo and the meaningful lyrics. I can't stop listening to this song. Love it.

A great song by Green Day. what is it doing all the way down here? first listen to it and then you will see what I mean when I say it is good. it's a terribly underrated song; deserves to be much higher up in the list, at least in the top 15.

I can't even begin do describe how I felt when 21st Century Breakdown came out. I never thought anything in the world would push Nimrod off my top stop, but the energy and sincerity that this album (and THIS SONG in particular) produced is going to be hard to top.

Green Day will always be important to those who see music for what it is, a fun and expressionistic way to get through tough times, rather than:
"BUT (X) CAN SHRED FASTER THAN (Y), DERP, IT'S SO OBVIOUS"

Green Day, please continue to destroy competition musicians.

This is just an awesome song. Especially the solo, I love the bridge too :D whenever I listen to this, I can't help just going to my Windows Media Player and turn it all up :D This is definitely the best song Green Day ever made, in my opinion.

51 Stuart and the Ave.

Number 68? What the heck? This song is one of the best on insomniac. I'm sorry but the top ten are pretty much all American idiot hits. Don't get me wrong, I love that album but that's ridiculous.

Great song, great bass, great drums, great guitar, singing, EVERYTHING! The best Green Day song off of the best Green Day album!

This song is catchy and real punk rock. At least this song is so meaningful for me.

Amazing bass riffs. This is my favorite Green Day song off of my favorite Green Day album. Should be number 1!

Laugh out loud! It wasn't even on the list. Blah blah blah. Check it out. It's pretty cool. - nikhilchoudhary

How can this song be so long it is amazing and should be in the top 10 at least. If this was on American idiot it would be in the position it deserves.

I just love the line where it says cut me a line of my best friends ashes

54 Having a Blast

I love this song, it should definitely be higher than this! Also, 'Scattered' should be on this list too, and near the top! Awesome songs!

Man, I would walk into school listening to this song on my walkman... *tEARS*

Incredibly emotional song hidden under dark humor. Perhaps THE most underrated of Green Day's stuff.

Amazing song!

55 X-Kid

Amazing song this needs to be way higher!

Since I first heard this song its became my favourite one. The lyrics and meaning for this song are amazing as well.

For me its their best song, the meaning of it and the lyrics, hooked from the very first moment I listened to it!

This should be much higher

56 Brutal Love

One of Green Day's saddest songs. Also it's so good. - gothictomboy66

I THINK THIS SONG IS A MASTERPIECE. THIS SONG IS LIKE AN ANTHEM TO Green Day THAT IS CHEERFUL AND PATRIOTIC, MOST ADDICTIVE SONG EVER, THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG OF ALL TIME.

That is the first song I heart of this fantastic band

Drop out, drop dead hideous, how low is this Brutal Love? - Alex151

57 Christie Road

It should be ILLEGAL that this song isn't number one. How the hell is Boulevard Of Broken Dreams number one? I'll tell you how, because it is basically a pop song, and it had big mainstream success. Real Green Day fans will know that their best songs were their older ones. Okay, Jesus of Suburbia is the best of their new songs... Its just amazing, But Christie Road is the best of their songs full stop. Before you vote for American Idiot and 21 guns, listen to Christie Road; Its pure beauty. Well done Green Day for writing such an epic song. I never tire of hearing it.

I love this song. Why is this all the way down in the 30s and GD's newer stuff dominating the top? I love most, if not all, of their music but their older stuff is definitely the best. Kerplunk is an awesome album!

Beauty of song that puts the era when this song was released into perspective

This song is ultimately based on a teen or childhood story...sounds awesome live.

Just... Plain... AWESOMENESS!
But how is this 48? It is way better than 2000 light years away, or Burnout... And plus, It has its own story behind it.
One word; Awestastimisticated

I love the backup vocals! Mike Dirnt is a boss at bass and vocals. The drums are also epic!

You don't often hear songs about abusive relationships, and when you do they're usually about a guy abusing a girl and I don't mean to demean their situations, but it's good to know that some people will preach for the other side - cam1922

Oh my goodness. How is this incredible masterpiece is in the 63th place? This song is easily on my top 5, and every time I listen to it, it reminds me good memories, incredible lyrics and guitar. This song is pure bliss.I respect Green Day so much for this song. And especially these two parts are amazing:
Is she ultraviolent is she disturbed I better tell her that I love her, before she does it all over again OH GOD SHE'S KILLING ME
And;
Looking out my window for someone whos passing by, no one knows I'm locked in here all I do is cry

This has to be the best song from Green Day's recent trilogy of albums. Awesome tunes; brilliant, profound lyrics. More touching than any other Green Day song. And of course, reminiscent of the Beatles.

Wow! Acoustic guitars! =-) This song is perfect, even though Billie Joe sings off tune at one point it makes it even more perfect. His voice is just majestic. Wow.

This is song is one of the best from the trilogy album (uno dos tres) this song is one of many amazing Green Day songs, it deserves to be put in the top 20

Makes me want to cry...so meaningful

60 Panic Song

This is a great song the intro reminds me of the who I think Green Day gets a lot of its inspiration from the who, then "the world is a sick machine breeding a massive s***" hahaa great stuff!

I think this song needs to be higher, not like classics like welcome to paradise, or she or longview, but this song it's much better than a 53, it's CRAZY, in a song

My favorite Green Day song. a long, epic, 2 minute intro-then all hell breaks loose.
