Love her! I fantasize her doing everything! Dueling wizards, flying brooms, conjuring spells! Go Granger! A priceless gem for Gryffindor! - micks
She cool, charming, intelligent and lovable.!
She was my crush since the first harry potter movie. Pretty, witty, brave, friendly (most of the time), and she's just the girl I'm looking for.

HARRY POTTER has to be at number 1! Who saved the Philosopher's stone? Who got rid of Riddle and the dementors? Who saved sirius and escaped voldemort? Who helped dumbledore in getting slughorn's memory? Last but not the least, WHO THE RUDDY HELL KILLED VOLDEMORT? IT WAS HARRY POTTER!
After reading Deathly Hallows many times I have just realized that Snape would never have saved harry if he hadn't been on dumbledore's side. And he would have never been on dumbledore's side if he hadn't loved Lily Potter. It was lily potter who saved harry from voldemort. So actually, Lily should be at no. 2!
This list is about who is objectively the best character, not who is the most heroic. Lily was a total Mary Sue (the biggest one in the series). She should absolutely not be number two. - Ravenclaw
I love harry! He's brave to a fault, compassionate, modest, smart and selfless. He does have his flaws but that's what makes him so great. He's probably went through more than any other character in the series but he still battles on. Despite his outbursts, I think he handles everything surprisingly well considering how much he's got to deal with and the fact that he's also a teenager. He's also the lord of sass. Plus... He's the boy who lived... Need I say more - lily_hp
Harry should be number 1. Because who saved the world from voldemort.
He is the most relatable character in the series, showing us even an ordinary looking boy is capable of doing things that can change the world. It taught us to not judge by looks ( yes, harry was not the best looking character in the BOOK not the movies ) and look within the heart. He had many flaws, many of them. And many good qualities too. The perfect blend of them made him one of the most complex and life like character in the series. Whenever I see Harry, I feel like I am seeing a mirror image of myself. Many feather headed morons feel that he is a ' boring character not suitable as a hero '. Guess what? The simplicity of Harry makes me think that he is a PERFECT hero of the series. I am sure many girls would have been happier to see Malfoy as a hero than Harry, sorry state of affairs.

Severus Snape is the man that every mother should teach her little boy to be. Yes, he made mistakes. A lot of them, actually. And yes, most of the time, you wanted to punch the living daylights out of him and watch him writhe in pain on the floor, but all that was a ruse. He was tough as nails, and wasn't the most socially graced person to walk the Earth, but he was loyal to what he loved. The only thing he loved, truly loved, was Lily Evans; his only friend and confidant. Until the day of his death, he lived his life in a manner that (he hoped) would make Lily proud of him. I kind of think that he did. He defended the last remain of her flesh and blood, borderline cared for him with every last drop of blood in his body. He was fierce and fearless, and brilliant. I could only wish that every man would do that for the woman they loved. I sure do hope that my kids do.
This is interesting because I don't think that being a role model was the point of Snape's character at all. I think he's a good character because he's complex and interesting. I don't really consider him a nice person or someone to be looked up to. - Ravenclaw
He saved Harry, died for Harry and became a Death-Eater for the order of the Pheonix!
Severus Snape was the farthest from a perfect man you could get, but he was the bravest and most selfless man you could ever meet. Whatever the reason for his actions (guilt, unrequited love, maybe even some morality), he was willing to risk his life for Harry Potter. He was willing to take on and lose his life to the most powerful Dark Wizard ever know AND die being known as one of the worst villains.
Many people question Snape's treatment of his students. However, keep in mind, he had to treat them poorly to be a believable spy as Voldemort had loyal spies everywhere. He hated Neville because the prophecy could have been about him, and if Voldemort had believed that, Lily would have likely lived. He hated Harry because James Potter was a horrendous bully to him. While James may have "grown up a bit", which is never shown, it doesn't excuse him of his actions. When Snape looked at Harry, all he could see was James and losing Lily. DESPITE THIS, he still protected him with his ...more

I think he is truly the most complex and interesting character in the series (yes even above Snape), and for me the most beloved. I think he is critically misunderstood by many, seen as a scheming, uncaring mastermind.
However, it is abundantly clear to me, from almost every scene that JK Rowling writes him in, every line of dialogue, that Dumbledore is the character who understands more deeply than any other the nature and power of love.
The power of love is the ultimate theme of Rowling's novels and Dumbledore's character is for me a perfect example of ultimate human compassion. He demonstrates over and over again, to Harry and every other person he encounters, the power of love, compassion and self-sacrifice, and he himself embodies these virtues more than any other, even Snape, in thought, deed, word and intent. These qualities are the reason he is so adored and revered by the wizarding world, not to mention his humility (though not too much of it; he is well aware ...more
::Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone::
"'you think he meant you to do it [save the Stone]? " said Ron. "Sending you you're father's cloak and everything? "
"Well, " Hermione exploded. "if he did - I mean to say - that's terrible - you could have been killed. "
"No, it isn't. " said Harry thoughtfully. "He's a funny man, Dumbledore. I think he sort of wanted to give me a chance. I think he knows more or less everything that goes on here, you know. I reckon he had a pretty good idea we were going to try, and instead of stopping us, he just taught us enough to help. I don't think it was an accident he let me find out how the mirror worked. It's almost like he thought I had the right to face Voldemort if I could... "
You are wring, I hate to be the one to break it to you but you are all wrong. Albus Dumbledore is the greatest character ever. He's complexed in a way that isn't revealed until the seventh book and even with his past he still shows a genuine care for Harry. His character is dynamic and thorough especially his dialogue and how he almost always speaks in riddles. He serves a major part in the story and that plot that isn't forced, making the whole book character driven. How he seems to know it all, and knows how much he should or shouldn't tell, and his judgment of character in others, he is the most trustworthy and all-knowing character in the book.
I HATE THIS OLD MAN! - PebblepawV 76 Comments
Ron, though not as talented as Harry or as smart as Hermione, was still (almost) always there. He did take jealousy too the extreme but it was because he was insecure. He's constantly overshadowed and a lot of people will be able to relate to that. Though he can be a little too mean and sarcastic and oblivious to people's feelings, his heart is still in the right place. Ron always seems a couple of steps behind the rest of the golden trio but when put to the test, he proves he's just as capable as them - lily_hp
Actually Ron is very talented. Remember that slug-hex? It is non-verbal! - AshleyChang
Ron's my second favorite. He's not as brave as Harry, or smart as Hermione, but his heart was almost always in the right place. I relate to him always feeling like he's overshadowed, that his friends are better than him. He's one of the most realistic characters I've ever seen. He's right in the middle-leaning a bit more towards Harry-between Harry and Draco. He's just an amazing character for me.
Ron should totally be at least #4! Does anybody not remember the part in the fourth Harry Potter where Draco hits Hermione with a spell that makes her teeth enlarge, and Snape says he sees no difference? Do you remember what Ron did? He screamed every foul word he knew at Snape and got a week's worth of detentions just for sticking up for his friend. That shows quite a bit of heart
I LOVE RON!V 102 Comments
Luna Lovegood. I absolutely love her. She's funny, sweet, friendly, and a little wacky, but in the most lovable way possible. She taught me how to be positive in situations. And I just love that despite her constant dreamlike state, she's still very intelligent (she's in Ravenclaw, hello). She cares about her friends and supports them, can see what's going on in people's minds, and who wouldn't want to be friends with her? She would never ditch you or say bad things about you. She's the perfect friend. Forever. Plus, I love that Harry names his daughter after her (and his mum. )
Luna is my favorite character from any book, movie, video game, anything! She inspires me. I love everything about her, but the best thing about Luna is that she is very odd (in the best way) and people sometimes say mean things about her, but that doesn't stop her from being herself. I think we can all learn from that. She's also really funny, sweet, and the type of person I would want to be best friends with. She's loyal and would always have your back. I love Luna!
Luna Lovegood is a very funny, sweet, unique, and loyal friend. She taught me that being weird is wonderful and that being yourself is more interesting than being someone else. She didn't care what other people thought of her. Even when she learned that others were calling her Loony, she didn't let that stop her. And how could we forget that she's really smart? I love Luna as she's my favorite character.
My second favorite character after Hermione. I just love how funny she is - Oreo_xoV 194 Comments
Harry's relationship with him, considering they only meet a few times, is so strong, which makes it more tragic in the end :'(
The reason Sirius Black is the most important character is his journey. He was born into a evil family and was still able to turn into a loving, brave, funny and loyal young man. And then, what I possibly like the most about him, he arrived at Hogwarts found three friends who were the first people he has ever loved and decided to live his life to the fullest. And yes, Sirius has done bad things and he sometimes was a bad person. But I believe at the end of the day he realized that he will not be like his family and tried to be the best he could. What I love (love, love, love) about Sirius is that he wasn't perfect at all. His most famous quote was, that everyone has a dark and a light side but what matters is the part you choose to act on, and he did. He chose his light side and he gave his life for the people he wanted to protect and the ones he loved. Like Harry and Snape he didn't grow up with love and it made him even stronger. So Sirius is definitely one of the best, if not the ...more
Sirius is basically the biggest badass in the history of literature. He went through so much throughout the series and stayed strong, such as staying in Azkaban for 12 years, having his best friend die, and not being able to see his godson for most of his life. Also, in the Order of the Phoenix, he is stuck up in Grimmauld Place when he wants to go help. Also he dies, which can be pretty difficult; but he is always there for Harry before that happens, and even after when he uses the resurrection stone.
Sirius is an amazing example of rising from nothing, fighting with all the odds stacked against you, but still doing great things in the end. Also a giant badass.V 160 Comments
These two guys are hilarious; pulling pranks all over the place. their jokeshop is awesome. but I always mix them up

They are my very favourite! I love how hilarious they are! They must be VERY clever at potions because of all the Weasleys Wizard Wheezes products they make! I bet Snape must hate them
O my gosh they r the funniest characters in the world!
i cried so much when fred died
I love Remus Lupin. He always is so kind to the trio and other people and he cares more for others than himself. Its really sad that he dies. He and Tonks made such a lovely couple. He is extremely calm and quiet for a werewolf. He was the one that realized Sirius was innocent and he saved Harry's life (department of mysteries). I was glad to see that he got some happiness with Tonks and Teddy. It was sweet to see him so excited in shell cottage. Most people think that Remus and Tonks's ending was really sad, but aside from the fact that he is not with Teddy and other loved ones, it really means that he can eternally be with Tonks, Sirius, James, and Lily with no fear of the second war. I just wish that he got to spend more time with his family before he died.
Remus Lupin is so awesome. I honestly think he can be just as bad-ass as Sirius (and James), and any other character for that matter; with the added bonus of keeping his head in a crisis, and being responsible. It also breaks my heart about how afraid he was to hurt anyone with his werewolf condition, and how hard he fought with himself about marrying and having a child with Tonks. He faced discrimination and was shunned by most of the wizarding world, for something that he couldn't help. He stayed strong through it all: being a werewolf, losing James and Sirius, finding out that Peter was a traitor, and both wizarding wars, along with a ton of other things. Also, it pained me so much when Sirius died, he was the one keeping the most calm and HE was the one who held Harry back, even though at that point he had just lost HIS BEST FRIEND. Remus Lupin is a completely under appreciated character, and he deserves much more than that.
Lupin was a great character and man. He held back Harry from chasing Bellatrix after Sirius's death while also struggling to hold himself back. After James and Lily's death and Peter's betrayal, Sirius was the only one of his childhood friends left. While others panicked, he would always be the voice of reason. With James and Sirius being the little devils they were, someone had to be. He wasn't perfect, however. His "condition" aside, he had his fair share of regrets. While his friends took to bullying Snape, he wanted to speak up, but never did. In Deathly Hallows, he gets into an argument with Harry over wanting to join the trio on their hunt for Horcruxes, despite that meaning he would leave Tonks behind. Considering his furry little problem, Lupin felt it would be the best thing for his family and the Order. He's not a perfect little saint. He's human (and werewolf) and that's alright. In the end, he died with a woman that loved him for who he was.
Remus, who stayed strong and optimistic despite his condition. Remus, who lost every last one of his friends on one night yet still didn't give up. Remus, who got used to the idea that he was dangerous and unworthy of love. Remus, who was the best DAtDA teacher ever and so kind to his students. Remus, who got his best friend back only to lose him again in just two years. (This quote from OotP breaks my heart: "Remus turned away from the archway as he spoke. It sounded as though every word was causing him pain") Remus, who so nearly got his "happily ever after", with Tonks and his baby son Teddy... only to die. Remus, who remained brave and kind until the very end, is ranked only ninth? Please, vote him up. He deserves it.V 81 Comments
What the heck? DRACO? BELLATRIX? VOLDEMORT are higher up than Neville? Are you kidding me right now? Neville is amazing. He was bullied by Draco, Pansy, basically all the Slytherins, not to mention Snape who basically tortured him his whole life, so cruelly and viciously that Snape was his biggest fear?! And SNAPE is higher than Neville? Sorry, but nothing Snape does will ever make up for his absolutely evil, cruel nature. Neville took on Crabbe and Goyle by himself in their first year! He killed Nagini, which saved Harry's life. He loved his parents so much even though they were loony and didn't recognize him. He stuck up to Bellatrix, he risked his life so many times to defend his parents. He restarted the the. He gives hope to all the poor supposed "losers" out there. Neville Longbottom is the most underrated Harry Potter character in the whole Harry Potter Franchise. He went from zero to hero through out the whole franchise, in the Philosopher's Stone he was constantly bullied by Slytherine for no reason. Neville, we love him, I love him and you love him. Neville is a character who is treated in a way which makes us all love him. Neville doesn't get enough credit, because he is a very talented wizard, he was constantly abused by his family he was even dropped out of a window to be proven a wizard. He has a constant bad luck streak! Severus Snape always scares him. Despite being the victim in the movies he has the biggest heart and will fight along side his friends and stand up to the evils, such as Bellatrix Lestrange, Draco Malfoy and even Voldemort. He's such an underappreciated character, and had to go through so much pain and humiliation in his life but still stood up for himself at the end and did what he loved doing. He had to endure living with his grandmother, who he was quite terrified of, dealing his whole life basically without parents, being bullied by the Slytherins for 7 whole years and rarely having anyone stand up for him, not really fitting in all that time during Hogwarts (he had friends, but always stood out in the dormitory, as Harry and Ron were both best friends and so were Dean and Seamus), he had to basically keep all the students safe when the trio left to look for horcruxes, and endured even torture during that time, AND he had to stand being bullied and failed by Snape. Not to mention that his bad grades were hardly his fault, as all that time he had the wrong wand! HE NEEDS A NOSE
A very interesting character. As Tom Riddle, he wasn't evil, necessarily, but rather was ambitious and devious enough to undergo a death-defying transformation by which his existent cruelty manifested into an inhuman incarnation of evil. His discrimination against half-bloods is sophisticated, as he himself is half blooded. When choosing to kill either Harry or Neville, he chose half blooded Harry. A particularly fascinating part, in my opinion, was when Harry gave Voldemort the choice to become "a man" instead of the shriveled baby at the platform of Death. Go reread the very end of Deathly Hallows, Harry and Riddle's duel.

I don't really understand why so many people hate Ginny. I think she's really funny and witty. I love her progression from a shy girl who couldn't say a word in front of her crush, to a confident young woman who is sure of herself. You don't instantly know who you are, you've got to find yourself, which Ginny does. She's very brave, strong - minded and won't take crap from anyone. - lily_hp
Ginny weasley rules! Who fought a HARRY POTTER'S eye? Ginny! Harry liked her for intelligence and strength. She should be right by a Harry Potter. Who was nice to Luna Lovegood while everybody thought she was weird? Who wanted to fight even though she was only an sixth year? Why do people hate Ginny? At least let her be 7 or higher.
True, I don't know why she is under Draco Malfoy. He isn't the worst but I just don't understand why so many people like him - AshleyChang
Ginny's awesome, I just love the personality and she marries potter, I also like her in department of mysteries and battle of hogwarts, not the best but deserves to be in top ten.
So Ginny is pretty awesome!
Normally I would vote for Hermione or Luna, but Ginny is so, so awesome if you think very closely. Remember all the times Ginny came up and was awesome? I do not get anyone who does not like Ginny. I don't think she's a Mary Sue, because she is normally pretty which does not count. Ginny was kind, smart, brave, beautiful, strong, and active. She was Luna's first friend, which is really nice of her because most people did not like Luna. She was kind to all her friends and even to Hermione, and helped them and chatted with them. Ginny was friends, even, with a couple of the losers like Neville. Ginny was also quite talented and smart. Remember those awesome Bag Bogie hexes? Those were the best ever, because Ginny is not a helpless little Mary Sue, but a strong and smart girl who got pretty good grades and could do some awesome spells and hexes. Ginny is really a strong person who is not helpless and weak, but does not give up and so savior-like. Do not forget how many Death Eaters she ...moreV 130 Comments
I have often had cause to remark on how unnerved I have been by the number of girls who fell for this particular fictional character although I do not discount the appeal of Tom Felton, who plays Draco brilliantly in the films and, ironically, is about the nicest person you could meet . Draco has all of the dark glamour of the anti hero girls are very apt to romanticize such people.
Excuse you? Really, Rowling? Let s look at one of the characters that very much similar to Draco Malfoy. Sirius Black and James Potter. James Potter was a rich pureblood kid who immediately start to pick on Severus Snape because he was poor and later because he was a rival for Lily s affections. And yes Snape wasn't completely innocent at how the relationship between these two

Seriously, Draco is not like James. James is a bully only to Snape - AshleyChang
Draco is incredible. He may have been a bully, but you can EASILY see in the last few movies that he feels guilty and that he doesn't want to be a death eater. Quote from Draco "I have to do this, I have to kill you or they'll kill me." he didn't want to kill Dumbledore (and he didn't) but he was just trying to save himself. Besides he pretty much saved Harry in the Deathly hallows when Harry, Hermione and Ron were captured and Bellatrix asked Draco if it was Harry so they could kill him (harry was injured so they didn't know) and Draco said he didn't know even though he clearly knew... Bottom line DRACO ROCKS
Draco was pretty much the bully up until the 6th book and by then you begin to realize that there is more to him than just that. The fact that he was raised by these awful parents that taught him to be arrogant and such contributed to his personality but then you realize that he doesn't like who he has become and what he has to do with his life. I felt pretty bad for him too.
Draco is not really a bad guy. (I read it in Pottermore) He was just trying to make his father proud and that's all. It's all Lucius's fault. He was a bad father. - SlytherinQueenV 132 Comments
His death was one of the saddest moments of the entire series (I'm pretty sure everyone in the cinema was crying).
He tried to save harry from a terrible fate, he is the only reason harry wasn't killed by voldemort in 7 part 1, and in the book, he is the one who gives harry the thing that lets him breath under water and finds the room of requirement - bilbro29
Dobby is definitely one of my favorite characters in this series! Such a loyal friend to Harry, he is always there helping him in every way he could. Dobby is also such an interesting character - the cute way he punishes himself whenever he does something bad. I miss Dobby so much and I wish he was still alive.

Seriously guys, Hagrid is the closest father figure Harry could ever get! He was always with Harry and always trusted him, he gave Harry a birthday cake, the series started when he carried Harry to Privet Drive and ENDED when he carried dead Harry...
Rubeus Hagrid is my favorite Harry Potter character next to Hermione Granger. Hagrid is totally the best and should totally at least be in top ten, or switch places with Ginny, because she is just a Mary Sue dressed pretty. Hagrid was always my favorite, ever since he set foot in the place where the Weasleys were on vacation. Especially when he meant to turn Dudley into a pig, but ended up giving him a pig tail. That was hilarious. Hagrid is so kind-hearted, warm, funny, loyal, dedicated, trust-worthy, open-minded, brave, and protective. Hagrid was the closest father Harry could get, even more than Sirius Black, because of how kind and caring he was to Harry was much more help to Harry than Sirius. Hagrid would be a wonderful father, if he was one. And Hagrid told Harry he was the wizard. Without Hagrid, Harry would still be stuck with the Dursleys and never would have learned the truth about being a wizard. And along with that, Hagrid baked Harry a birthday cake to go along with it, ...more
As a character Hagrid provides comic relief and an uplifting side to an otherwise dark story. The way Rowling embedded his character into the story is fantastic as the story called for a simple character who was there for Harry from the beginning to the end. His parents having been killed and Sirius imprissoned, there still needed to be a character Harry could rely on, even if he didn't know it until 13 years of age. Dumbledore and McGonnagal are both far too busy and in positions of direct superiority in the school to allow for this kind of relationship, and Snape, although he did care for Harry more than once, had too many childhood issues with Harry's parents to warrent a comparable relationship. So Hagrid fills this void by being a grounds keeper who is simple minded enough to be on the main three characters' mindset level and still be old enough to take care of them in times of need.

Bella is awesome!
I love her craziness and everything.
And she is not all evil, she was made like that.
The Black family is known for being interested in dark arts and their obsession of keeping the line and the wizarding world pure. And that's how Cygnus and Druella Black raised their daughters.
Yes, Andromeda was strong enough to leave all of this behind her and see how wrong this all was, but Bella just couldn't. They had already brainwashed her and she wasn't strong enough to do anything against it. She was strong in another way, a powerful witch, but she couldn't see past the Black pureblood obsession, like Sirius and Andromeda did. That's what made her what she was in the end.
But still, I love her. She amazes me. And her character really makes
Bellatrix should at least be in the top ten!
I really do like Bellatrix, not as a person, but as a character. She is evil, but she does it so well! I can't help but admire her! She is determined, ruthless, mean, and a hint of crazy, everything you could want in a villain.
She's one of the best written psychopath of all time's literature
Yeah, she was such a kind and soft-hearted character. - PebblepawV 79 Comments
she's the coolest witch in the series. my 3rd favorite character, following Hermione and Snape.
She is very powerful and down-to-earth at the same time. Mad-eye was always fond of her as well. She is so cool and is just like the rest of us. She is clumsy yet absolutely brilliant. I love how she brings that punk vibe.
She is by far my favourite and I feel like she should have deserved a bit more scenes in the movies and the books. Her personality is just amazing. She has flaws of course which is what I like about her. Unlike Harry who thinks he has to do everything. I love her punk style but her death is so tragic! Especially since it was after she had Teddy Lupin

she has a fantastic (dry) source of humour... and is cooler than she looks in the first glance
She is so amazing! So solid and dependable and also so hilarious at times, she is ace and I love her. Her early life was so sad, she has been through a lot but she stayed strong and never let anyone get the better of her (especially not Umbridge! ). Also she is scottish (like me)! GO MCGONAGALL!
At first, mcgonagall may not seem that cool, but you realize just how wonderful she is later on. She really dang CARES about Harry, since that night in the first book, she sent him the broom, fought umbridge, and was really, really cool. I'm really glad that she will be headmistress
I'm gonna say this simply Minerva is just as good as Hermione so she should be number 1 or at least no 2 face it she's just as clever probably a better dullest and her personality alone should get her number 1 or 2 like Ron Weasley before her?V 44 Comments
She is really the best Weasley. We need to get her above Ron, Ginny and Fred & George (they shouldn't even be combined: they're different people...) Even though her kids & husband are a bit disappointing (other than King Percy) she is great. And she should definitely not be below Tonks (Tonks could hardly be considered relevant). MOLLY! MOLLY! MOLLY!

She is not only the mother of all the Weasley children, but she takes in Harry as one of her own in every sense. She is very likable, has a great sense of humor, and is a brilliant wizard, being the person to finally kill Bellatrix Lestrange. She deffinitely belongs on the top ten.

He was so funny, even when trying not to be! He was a focal point of the 4th book, and his death hit me really hard. So unexpected! Also, fun fact: my dad named his boat "Constant Vigilance" after him. He named his other boat "Azkaban".
He's so important I was so bummed when he died
Alastor âMad-Eyeâ Moody... always a very cranky character. He is a very, very and VERY talented wizard, being able to perform non-verbal and wandless magic, as well as catching dozens of dark wizards. Being a cranky character, Moody does not seem right. He was a really bold Auror and known as the most famous Auror of his time. And also, his extra âMagical Eyeâ makes him even more interesting. He can look through stuff, look behind and all around without turning his head or anything. So overall, I really, really like this character. His âcrankinessâ, his magical abilities, his record of dark wizard catches and also his extra âEyeâ makes him one of my favourite characters of the Harry Potter franchise!V 15 Comments
Hedwig is such a beautiful and sweet owl. It's so upsetting when she dies, it almost feels like you've lost a pet of your own.
I love Hedwig and everything but... Hedwig is an owl. That is a pretty big problem because owls cannot speak, and that limits her personality greatly. She cannot have conversations with other characters, she cannot develop, and she cannot be a very complex character of high literary merit. I'm having a hard time seeing why she's so high on the list... - Ravenclaw

Cool Professer. Just the give him WAY too much screen time.
He's not my favorite character (<3 Snivellus) but he deserves the top 20: he's so complex and underrated! That might be because of the movies, that completely eclipsed him for the main plot: getting the locket. But he, like Bellatrix, appeared only in the fifth book, and what an appearance for both of them. They both killed Sirius, but while Bella did it to "cut off the bad branches on her family tree" Kreacher actually had a good reason. Not just that, his relationship with Regulus was so deep, and seeing Sirius be like "Yeah, my brother, total loser! " he had so much compressed anger inside of himself. You see him in Deathly Hallows, when they're planning the assault of the Ministry, he's so happy just because Harry Ron and Hermione treated him decently, and gave him Regulus locket. His motivations are really complex, which makes a complex character that not so many people can enjoy!
Kreacher is one of the most complex characters in the entire series. At first, he puts on an evil/mean persona around others, but once the trio begins to spend more time with him in DH, he reveals what a flawed and emotionally damaged character he really is. Kreacher for top 20! - Ravenclaw
I was so sad when harry hermione and ron had to leave him in the 7th book with death eaters! I was so relieved when I knew he was okay later in the book
Okay, so I hated Kreacher all through the series until the very end in the Battle of Hogwarts when all those house elves ran out of the Hogwarts Kitchens carrying weapons with Kreacher leading them and I was like I LOVE KREACHER. It was right when Harry needed them and yeah. Also when Harry, Hermoine, and Ron were apparating out of the ministry in the Deathly Hallows and Yaxley grabbed onto them and they accidentally apparated him into Grimmauld Palace and Harry thought about poor Kreacher with his soup and I was like, awww! That's it, just wanted to say that although Dobby will always be the number one house-elf, Kreacher is pretty good too. - wishiwasathogwartsV 7 Comments
I will admit he is not my favorite. However he does not deserve to be this low on the list! I am going to be honest here. I didn't cry when Dumbledore died. Or when Moody died. Or when Hedwig died (almost did though). I had never cried for any character death in any book, movie, or T.V. show. But then Fred died and finally I cried. It was only two tears but that's more then any other character death. Fred was a hilarious and awesome character and didn't deserve to be this low down.
Why is Fred so low on the list? He should at least be in the top 20! He was an awesome character and his humor always made me laugh.
At least this time they didn't put them together, even though they are supposed to be, but after all they are just different persons and with (even slightly) different personalities, but I really expected him to be higher up though...
He should be number 2, Gorge being first. I know there the same but... - PebblepawV 23 Comments
We have had too many extrovert male leads, I agree. Newton seems like such an amazing character that would just need more getting to know. Hufflepuffs don't seem to get a lot of love and I honestly think Newt deserves the love. He did cause quite a bit of disaster, but he did of course put in plenty of effort to fix the problem(s) he caused. His history in Hogwarts really shows what a great person he is, displays his kindness, his selflessness he displayed which resulted in his sentence for expulsion when he took the blame for Leta Lestrange's experiment that risked another student's life (The experiment involved a Jarvey). He really suits the Hufflepuff label he carries around. I see him as especially an amazing inspiration for others to do what they love as he did, despite it disappointing his family. He is the wizard form of Steve Irwin, doing what he loves.
Some people don't like this guy because he is too introverted or unmasculine. WELL ITS ABOUT TIME WE HAD ONE OF THESE MALE LEADS TO BE INTROVERTED!
He was so awesome and funny in the new movie! He's officially one of my top 5 favourite characters in the franchise now. - Goku02
Newt Scamander is my favorite character from Harry Potter. I believe that he doesnât get enough credit for everything that he did. HE WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO CAPTURE GELLERT GRINDELWALD! How is that not heroic. I love how he wants to help those magical creatures. All in all, he is just a great characterV 3 Comments
From the beginning, I knew she wasn't going to end up with Harry. All of a sudden she just popped up in the fourth book, practically out of nowhere. She seemed really nice, but she took Cedric's death way too dramatically. Harry was not going to end up with someone who cries over their last boyfriends death every damn second of her life.
Cho didn't get Dumbledore's Army caught. In the book, it was her friend and all Cho did then was stick up for her best mate. Though yeah, she is kinda sappy in the fifth.
I like Cho. I liked her in the whole fourth book, even though she didn't go with Harry to the Yule Ball. But in the fifth book, she started going crazy. She went on a date with Harry and sobbed about Cedric?! Oh come on. Who normal does that!?
I have a crush on herV 17 Comments
I feel bad for her. Have any of you read the books? Her sister got picked for Hogwarts and her parents felt so proud then she was jealous and neglected.
I guess when they finally clicked in book 5 people started liking her
She's such a good character. She should be higher than #102
Yeah she isn't that bad - AshleyChangV 4 Comments
Seamus is the best character ever! He and Dean Thomas should have had more screen time! I liked how we see his temper in OoTP. We should have at least known who he ends up with! My choices are: Dean, Lavender or Hermione!
Finnigan should not be on this list
Yeah I know right he's the funniest

Yes, she is a Death Eater, did some terrible things, and is flawed. But despite that, she loves Draco. She doesn't care about pureblood ideology as long as her son is safe. I love antagonistic characters that deeply loves something more than anything in the world and is willing to save it at all costs.
Narcissa is my second favourite death eater. She could do anything for her son Draco. She cared for him so much! Motherhood is eternal...
She was so nice when she risked her own life and lied to voldemort when harry was falsely dead in the last movie. She lied to him to save her son DRACO MALFOY
Really like her characterV 7 Comments
He was a bullying toerag as a child to quote Lily, but he was also extremely loyal and loving friend to those he cared about, and would do just about anything for his loved ones. And most importantly; while he was an arrogant jerk sometimes as a child, he /grew up/. He grew up and became a man worthy of love and a fantastic role model. I am sure he was a marvellous father while still alive. James had a lot of flaws, and as young really needed to step down a peg and stop bullying people, but even while horrible to some he was still a wonderful friend. And like I said, he matured and became someone Lily could be proud of and love. The fact that Lily married him is all the evidence we need that he was a good man, and we've got more than that, even. So yes, James had a lot of flaws, but in the end of his life his good nature and redeeming qualities more than made up for them.
He's just such a dork in the most adorable way and he does his hair thing and the marauders are just on point always.
I love him. I'm shocked Lily didn't like him from the beginning. I mean the hair thing, him playing with the snitch... oh come on. I know he was a total jerk to Snape, Lily's best friend, but seriously? He's so handsome...
I HATE HIM SO MUCH! - PebblepawV 10 Comments
He did show remorse at the end of his life - lying to Voldemort about where the Elder Wand was located under the threat of death and insulting Voldemort at the same time. Definitely a awful person, but not on the evil level of Voldemort.
"Kill me then, Voldemort, I welcome death! But my death will not bring you what you seek... There is so much you do not understand..." (Grindelwald immediately before Voldemort kills him).
Gellert grindelwald is the most powerful dark wizard of all time second only to you-know-who himself. So yeah my point is that he is freakishly awesome and he should be in the top tens not 20s
He is voldemort but with a purpose
I think he still has good in him. - Goku02V 3 Comments
I think this option means Voldemort's dad: Tom Riddle Senior. - Ravenclaw
Tom riddle is the same thing as voldemort
He is my favorite character... unless this means his dad

He is a rat come on really?
He should be killed

I was fully expecting Fleur to be in the top 30. She is my 5th or 6th favorite in the series and she is the most underrated character of anyone. Her arc in the final two books is amazing. She proves Ginny wrong, and Ginny is shown to be jealous of her and judges her by her looks. She still loves Bill even after he becomes a werewolf and she proves to Molly that she has more depth than just her beauty. Amazing character that is far too low on the list.
Fleur needs to be higher! There is no way that you'll ever convince me that Seamus Finnigan is a more complex character than she is. - Ravenclaw
How the hell isn't she in the top 50 at least
Ginny still hasnât comeV 13 Comments
Ravenclaw is the best of the four!
Ravenclaw is the best house.
Absolute greatest house.
Love her - AshleyChangV 3 Comments
Kingsley is Awesome and kind and brave!
I'm sorry but Katie Bell has no business being at #26.. She didn't contribute much to the series, and she was usually just mentioned during Quidditch games/practices. - Ravenclaw
Exactly. Buckbeak is lower and cedric did more and they are below her.
After Luna Lovegood, Scorpius is my favorite character. He shows bravery and forgiveness for a friend who ditched him. I loved the cursed child book not for its plot, but for the characters in it. He overcomes stereotypes and I think he is highly underrated. Also, he brings a lot of comic relief.
Scorpius is number 42?!?! He is my total favorite character after Luna! He has a very important part of the plot, and he is basically the main character in The Cursed Child! How could he be number 42!?!
Coolest character I think he absolutely shows the true example of the quote by Albus Dumbledore "It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be! "

Lily and the marauders for that matter are only talked about for a small part of the books yet are so influential and I think the most intriguing part of the books. She is such a great character and is so loving and caring and I wish I could see more of her character and her life at hogwarts with James, the Marauders and Snape!
I love lily potter, I love that whole era I think they're so neglected! Lily Evans had sass. She stood up for her friends but she also wasn't a push over and she stood up for what she believed in. She sacrificed herself for her son and without her we wouldn't have HARRY potter
WHAT? She should be in the top 10. It was her, who saved Harry. She tried to save Snape from the Marauders. She fell in love with the most adorable jerk anyone ever saw.
Why she is the 36th, below Tom Riddle Senior! - AshleyChangV 12 Comments
From Prisoner of Azkaban He is awesome ABSOULUTELY Brilliant
I love buckbeak! He is so cute and sweet!
Buck beak is so cute he is like an eagle with a horse that what he is I love buck beak he is so nice and I am so glad the Harry and hermione rescued him!
I thought his name was outbreak
I'm so wrong
He fooled literally EVERYONE for an entire year. Not to mention, the active who portrays him in the films helps as he is well loves but the character himself is just pure evil. He sends shivers down your spine. Who would torture people like that? Who who use the imperious curse on his own father before killing him dead? He is the perfect villainous creation. Also, this character leaves a lot of readers in wonder - was he only on the Dark Lord's side as a result of the neglect that his father had forced upon him for years; the love that his mother got yet he longed for? Or was he just wanting to go to the dark side for ages? He was a pure-blood though, and most pure-bloods became death eaters. The way that he ignore the love that his mother and Winky put towards him, in belief that the Dark Lord is the only one that loves him is a true character back story to lead to the insanity and evil deep within that is just longing to join the darkness. The cleverness of him mixed in with the ...more
Come on guys he fooled Dumbledore Hello? Also played by David Tennant who is amazing.
Oh my gosh he was played by David tennant the actor of the tenth doctor!? That kinda makes me automatically like him
Oh yeah! He is sooo cool! "DarthPotter101V 4 Comments
Really... he should be higher. He's not a good person but he's a pretty good character who deserves higher than #233 - Ravenclaw
Quirinus should be at the bottom he was a secret agent for "Who must not be named."
He is a phoney
People don't see Aberforth Dumbledore as a very god character. In my opinion, he's pretty cool. I mean, think about it. He was the younger sibling of a wizarding hero - Albus Dumbledore - someone who was in the WIzengamot, the guy who defeated Grindelwald, who was one of the greatest Hogwarts Headmasters of all time! He was completely ignored. And think about the times we've seen him fight, he was probably pretty talented as well.
Also, his relationship with his little sister, Ariana, whose mind, magic (and body? ) were ruined. He was very sweet and she obviously liked him better. I'm not saying that Dumbledore didn't love her, just that Aberforth was more...there.
The Letter he wrote for Voldemort to recover inside the fake locket shows how much of a badass Regulus is.
This might be racist, but he's my favorite black.
Awesome guy probably nicest Death Eater ever good man.
He realized hia mistake at being a death eater and instead tried to stop Voldemort by replacing the real locket with a fake one even if it means his death. He however failed to destroy the horcrux by telling kreacher to do so. He wasalso one of the reasons why Harry found the real locket.
Greyback is awesome he's merciless and ruthless but if he had a family I'd say he'd kill them the first chance he got or protect them every second of every day he's not all bad but he is about 95 percent bad so he has a very small heart I don't think he's the worst character in the movies (that's Dolores umbridges rank) but he is not very liked
How can you like Fenrir? Especially after what he did to Remus and Bill.
Grey back is scary look what he did lupin and bill
Killed lavender brown which makes h the most likeable chart tee ever
I actually liked Viktor. I mean, although he is more of a physical being, in the last book he actually showed that he loved Hermione.
He is a dummy and so arrogant the way he talks is annoying
Krum krum krum! Victor krum! Think rons in love
He is a bloody pumpkin.. He stole hermonie from ronV 3 Comments
Flitwick is wonderful if you come to him with problems he will make cupcakes dance across the table to make you feal better so sweet

BEST CAT EVER (apart from Cinderpelt) - Catluv50
If you are a cat person, (like me) you better vote for Crookshanks! Crookshanks is epic! Also I'm a warriors fan too.
I love Crookshanks! Crookshanks was airways so clever
Why on earth is Crookshanks lower than RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR? THIS IS WRONG PEOPLE, TOTALLY, UTTERLY, ABSOLUTELY WRONG!V 4 Comments
She may have been a fraud, but she provided a good laugh, and was genuinely friendly I suppose. Also, I felt so bad watching her cry as Umbridge fired her. And she dropped the crystal balls on the Death Eaters.
She sure gives a little more will magic to Harry Potter. I loved how she was dropping crystal Balls on the Death Eaters. I was thinks yes eat Crystal you nasty Death Eaters.
She is hilarious and is actually very important to the series. Though I have to admit that I think Divination is a stupid subject. - Goku02
