Best Harry Potter Characters
I absolutely LOVE Hermione! She is so like me and has inspired me to be fearless, hardworking and cool. She is the girl all girls should follow and I can't think of anyone more amazing! A person once called me a nerd, even though I was SO NOT! Well, that person was a sassy, bossy, rude diva, so I didn't really care. But Hermione showed me that it doesn't matter what other people think if they are just the sort of people who think the worst of everyone. I learnt from Hermione that I should just care about my friends and not the people who hate everyone. Now I work harder then ever to be even more like Hermione than I already am. In my opinion, Hermione Granger should be every girls' role model. Hermione rocks!
I realized I I just wasted a vote on Hermione just to say how much this character annoys me. She's the stereotypical female character, always the first to cry, a killjoy, but we're supposed to like her because she's smart. People think she's badass cause she punched Malfoy that one time, but honestly she's kind of boring. She consonantly telling people off and never seems to want to do anything fun. I wish we had more Ginny like character tbh
She is absolutely the best character in the Harry potter. Harry Potter and Ron wouldn't survived because of her. She is also what we call complete package. She is lovable, I like her bossy attitude and being know-it-all.
Hermione is the bravest, kindest, and the smartest witch that ever lived. She wiped her parent's memories so she could go with Harry and Ron to find Horcruxes! Without her, Harry and Ron wouldn't have survived. They would have gotten caught by Filch and been expelled from Hogwarts.
People always tend to see the bad side of him, yes he sometimes gets angry and he is maybe not that easy to handle but for god sake his good side outweigh his bad ones bye huge margin. I am sure if any of you would have been in his place you would have broken down by your 3rd year. He has just gone through so much and still somehow maintains his composure. Actually Harry is a lot less angry then he should be considering everything he has to got through. He is simply the best and deserves the best.
Harry is the best character. Considering he's the central protagonist. We have the most time to start loving him as a hero. We relate to his struggles, his lows, his highs, his everything. He goes from a weak eleven year old wizard to one of the most powerful wizards alive at eighteen. Heroic, selfless, sympathetic, brave, chilvery, courageous, valiant, noble, mighty, kind, polite, friendly, big hearted, loyal, intelligent, smart, and clever, Harry will have a place in our hearts
It's such an unpopular opinion, but BOOK Harry is my #1 favorite character. He is sassy and funny and relatable. He is the only character who we really get to grow up with as we read his journey throughout the story. People don't like him because how he treats some of the people closest to him, but that is probably one of the most realistic parts of the series. He is a young, teenage boy who has just been thrown into fulfilling this prophecy and, in my opinion, that gives us a reason as to why he does that. I love Harry and he will always be my favorite.
Harry Potter is one of my favorite characters because he was going to sacrifice his life for the whole world. He is kind and really, really, brave. Not only that but he has some true greatness in his hear and even though he has a lot of horcruxes to find after Dumbledore tell him about them for the first time, Harry always makes sure he has time for his friends and and Ginny. He is amazing at Quidditch and really brings a true spirit onto the field. And think about everything he saved and every life he's saved too!
Despite the fact that he's rather horrible in character he does some good things. I'm not sure if these actions should cancel out the really horrible things he's done, but that being said, he's my favourite because he is by far one of the most fascinating characters in Harry Potter. There's such a depth to him, and honestly, a book written from his point of view would be just as interesting as the ones written from Harry's because he's just such an interesting and unique character.
Severus Snape is the man that every mother should teach her little boy to be. Yes, he made mistakes. A lot of them, actually. And yes, most of the time, you wanted to punch the living daylights out of him and watch him writhe in pain on the floor, but all that was a ruse. He was tough as nails, and wasn't the most socially graced person to walk the Earth, but he was loyal to what he loved. The only thing he loved, truly loved, was Lily Evans; his only friend and confidant. Until the day of his death, he lived his life in a manner that (he hoped) would make Lily proud of him. I kind of think that he did. He defended the last remain of her flesh and blood, borderline cared for him with every last drop of blood in his body. He was fierce and fearless, and brilliant. I could only wish that every man would do that for the woman they loved. I sure do hope that my kids do.
This is interesting because I don't think that being a role model was the point of Snape's character at all. I think he's a good character because he's complex and interesting. I don't really consider him a nice person or someone to be looked up to.
Severus Snape gave up EVERYTHING to keep Harry safe. He was far from perfect, but he was good in his own way. He also helped brew a potion for Lupin so he wouldn't have to suffer every full moon.
Severus Snape was the farthest from a perfect man you could get, but he was the bravest and most selfless man you could ever meet. Whatever the reason for his actions (guilt, unrequited love, maybe even some morality), he was willing to risk his life for Harry Potter. He was willing to take on and lose his life to the most powerful Dark Wizard ever know AND die being known as one of the worst villains.
Many people question Snape's treatment of his students. However, keep in mind, he had to treat them poorly to be a believable spy as Voldemort had loyal spies everywhere. He hated Neville because the prophecy could have been about him, and if Voldemort had believed that, Lily would have likely lived. He hated Harry because James Potter was a horrendous bully to him. While James may have "grown up a bit", which is never shown, it doesn't excuse him of his actions. When Snape looked at Harry, all he could see was James and losing Lily. DESPITE THIS, he still protected him with his ...more
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore . . . One of the Best Headmasters
Killed by Snape and Fell Down Astronomy Tower
The only one feared by Voldemort!
You are wrong, I hate to be the one to break it to you but you are all wrong. Albus Dumbledore is the greatest character ever. He's complex in a way that isn't revealed until the seventh book and even with his past he still shows a genuine care for Harry. His character is dynamic and thorough especially his dialogue and how he almost always speaks in riddles. He serves a major part in the story and that plot that isn't forced, making the whole book character driven. How he seems to know it all, and knows how much he should or shouldn't tell, and his judgment of character in others, he is the most trustworthy and all-knowing character in the book.
I see everything I want in a favorite character in Dumbledore.
He made it through a not so happy past and became the greatest wizard of all. His wisdom is unlike anyone else's, he has always the best advices and can cheer anyone up. Also he ist the bravest character in the books - whereas Harry was always thrown in the situation, forced to be brave - Dumbledore did everything without being forced, simply because he has such a good heart. He cares for other people - no matter who they are, he even cared for Tom Riddle, before he realized how bad he truly was.
I just love him, he is such a throughly good soul.
Albus is the guy who changed Harry's life by sending an invitation for Harry to come he is such a kind person he was one of the only person who believed in Harry. He is also strong and would protect himself for him as well I love this guy a lot!
Ron Weasley is my favourite character! He is the most underrated character! In the movies it doesn't show him as much of the helpful friend, but in the book he is! He is sarcastic and can be a jerk sometimes, but people can relate since he is out shined most of the time. His best friends are Harry Potter the boy who killed voldemort, and Hermione Granger, the smartest person in their year! And he has so much family members with outstanding accomplishments so its hard to get attention sometimes. He is cute, funny and loyal, and my favourite character. I don't care about what people say about Ron he will always be my favourite.
Favourite Character! He's so caring and considerate of his friends, and he always does his best to cheer them up. Harry is the Chosen One, and Hermione is the Brightest Witch of her age, so Ron must have felt very inferior next to them, but truth is, Harry and Hermione would have been so stressed without him. He was also so brave, and stood up for his friends. People can talk crap about Ron, but he'll always be the best character in my eyes.
He needs to be higher! He's my second favorite character and my favorite member of the golden trio. Sure, he can be extremely jealous sometimes but that proves that he is a human after all. Also who can blame him? His best friend always gets all of the attention. He is also funny and secretly very smart and I think that he is funnier in the books. He is not as smart as Hermione or not as brave as Harry, but I love him just the way he is.
I like Ron. And he is my favorite character. But I like other characters too. And I am ok if he left me for a while. Also Harry doesn’t try to reason with or even talk to Ron. While No one knows what happens at the burrow when Harry is not there. And lets not forget that Harry doesn’t need Ron. Cause Harry always has people around him at Hogwarts.
He is my favourite character in the whole book. He was brave, kind and loyal. Harry couldn't have received a better godfather. He was the one who could easily die for his loved ones. I must say, I want to have someone like Sirius in my life. He is the most inspiring and the best character in Harry Potter.
Poor sirius. And his life isn't even the worst part. His death is. He has to be my absolute favorite character in the whole world. Just take notice to the fact that his own family killed him! And he didn't even live to see bellitrix and peter die. Those two make me sick. Plus sirius’s life isn't even the main reason I love him. Its his devotion to harry and loving him and being the best godfather he can. And his wild spirt is just amazing. Love him and bellitrix and peters deaths were the most satisfactory ones in the series, more so than voldimort.
Just too Handsome And is Highly misunderstood in the prisoner of Azkaban. And very lovable in The order of the Phoenix movie. His death meant so much he attempted to crucio bellatrix
Okay literally, Sirius Black had one of the saddest lives - he grew up in the house of Black, and was hated for not being more like his parents, then he went to Hogwarts and became a Gryffindor and was hated by his parents even more, then eventually he got disowned, burned off the tree, and all, then he graduated and there was the problem of Voldemort and all, so he joined the Order of the Phoenix, watched people around him die, then he had two of his closest friends die and one of his closest friends betray him. Then he literally went to Azkaban and didn't even get a trial even though he didn't commit the crime. He was in Azkaban with the dementors for 13 years. Like 13 years. Then he literally started to go mad, but his innocence kept him sane and he escaped finally to go avenge his friend's deaths. THEN he did but all his plans were ruined by Peter escaping again, and he had to run away again and hide while everyone kept looking for him (oh and he almost got soul sucked by ...more
I think she's cute. Smart, Funny, Kind, Loyal, Brave and hardworking Luna was always there for her friends. She never said bad words even to peple who call her Loony and hate her. She never said " git!" Thorth the whole siries. Plus she got a lotta imagithoin
Luna Lovegood. I absolutely love her. She's funny, sweet, friendly, and a little wacky, but in the most lovable way possible. She taught me how to be positive in situations. And I just love that despite her constant dreamlike state, she's still very intelligent (she's in Ravenclaw, hello). She cares about her friends and supports them, can see what's going on in people's minds, and who wouldn't want to be friends with her? She would never ditch you or say bad things about you. She's the perfect friend. Forever. Plus, I love that Harry names his daughter after her (and his mum. )
Luna Lovegood is by far my favourite harry potter character, she's kind, caring, considerate and thoughtful. She is what everyone must try to be. Even though people call her names and hide her things she is still kind and loyal to them. Lets all remember that her mother passed when she was only nine, that's a very young age, yet she still doesn't need a shoulder to cry on or she doesn't go around crying and looking miserable. She should be in front of severupus and dumbledore. She is different, she is funny and doesn't care what other people think of her. She is the BEST harry potter character
Luna never cared about others opinion. She is a good reminder to all of us in real life to stand up for what we believe in and not care what others think. She knows love, she knows how to dream to trust and she is altogether the best character. She supports her friends and family no matter what. But she isn't just a dream- like crazy girl. She knows suffering her mom died. She is an amazing dueler. If you read the books than you will realise that she saved Harry's life in the order of the pheonix. Luna is the best character because she goes against streotypes and opens our eyes to the world around us. Ily, Luna!
Remus Lupin was the one who realized Sirius was innocent and convinced Harry, Ron, and Hermione that Sirius was. It was sad about how he had to suffer every moon before the Wolfsbane potion was invented.
I love Remus Lupin. He always is so kind to the trio and other people and he cares more for others than himself. Its really sad that he dies. He and Tonks made such a lovely couple. He is extremely calm and quiet for a werewolf. He was the one that realized Sirius was innocent and he saved Harry's life (department of mysteries). I was glad to see that he got some happiness with Tonks and Teddy. It was sweet to see him so excited in shell cottage. Most people think that Remus and Tonks's ending was really sad, but aside from the fact that he is not with Teddy and other loved ones, it really means that he can eternally be with Tonks, Sirius, James, and Lily with no fear of the second war. I just wish that he got to spend more time with his family before he died.
Lupin is my favorite Defense against the Dark Arts teacher. He was nice and he taught Harry how to defend him self against Dementors. My little brothers favorite defense against the dark arts teacher is Lockhart. I don’t know what’s wrong with him.
Lupin was a great character and man. He held back Harry from chasing Bellatrix after Sirius's death while also struggling to hold himself back. After James and Lily's death and Peter's betrayal, Sirius was the only one of his childhood friends left. While others panicked, he would always be the voice of reason. With James and Sirius being the little devils they were, someone had to be. He wasn't perfect, however. His "condition" aside, he had his fair share of regrets. While his friends took to bullying Snape, he wanted to speak up, but never did. In Deathly Hallows, he gets into an argument with Harry over wanting to join the trio on their hunt for Horcruxes, despite that meaning he would leave Tonks behind. Considering his furry little problem, Lupin felt it would be the best thing for his family and the Order. He's not a perfect little saint. He's human (and werewolf) and that's alright. In the end, he died with a woman that loved him for who he was.
Fred and George are possibly my second and third favorite characters (right after Luna). They are like the comic relief of the whole series. In Universal Studios, I was able to visit their shop and buy my own purple Pygmy Puff! That was probably the happiest moment of my entire life.
Anyway, they are incredible characters. They stood up to Umbridge, a feat people would fear to complete (I mean, she makes kids write with their own blood), they did their own thing, despite people warning them not to. I bawled my eyes out when Fred dies! George must have been traumatized!
Four reasons for liking them:
1. They are extremely funny (cracking up because of them often)
2. The fireworks and leaving scene in the movie and the swamp and leaving Hogwarts in the books. Epic moment, I will never forget.
3. Weasley's wizard wheezes, I've always wanted to go there.
4. They are idols, showing that you can quote Ginny "do anything, as long as you have enough nerve".
Love them with all my heart, one of the reasons I cried during DH, I hated that they were separated at the end. But the legacy live on.
I cried so hard when Fred died. Why, J. K, why?!?! Anyway, they always make me laugh. After a long day, they'll always make me laugh hard. Especially in the last book; "Trust me, Harry, we don't fancy it. Imagine if we were turned into scrawny little gits forever? " Anyway, they're hilarious, and I wish I met people like these guys in real life.
Fred and George Weasley never ever even deserve to be separated. Fred Weasley never ever even deserve to be killed off.
Actually, they are Harry's best friends. They were the ones who talked to Harry on the train first. They were on the Qudditch team and always encouraged Harry and were very touchy about his future. Also, Harry gave them his Triwizard winnings and they refused to take money from him when they visited him when he visited their shop. So, in my opinion, they should be number 1.
Neville Longbottom is the most underrated Harry Potter character in the whole Harry Potter Franchise. He went from zero to hero through out the whole franchise, in the Philosopher's Stone he was constantly bullied by Slytherine for no reason. Neville, we love him, I love him and you love him. Neville is a character who is treated in a way which makes us all love him. Neville doesn't get enough credit, because he is a very talented wizard, he was constantly abused by his family he was even dropped out of a window to be proven a wizard. He has a constant bad luck streak! Severus Snape always scares him. Despite being the victim in the movies he has the biggest heart and will fight along side his friends and stand up to the evils, such as Bellatrix Lestrange, Draco Malfoy and even Voldemort. He is the one who stood up to Voldemort and gave the greatest speech in Harry Potter History! Plus Neville has changed through out the years becoming shy, mistreated and innocent to strong, ...more
The best charachter growth. Way too overrated! Poor boy was bullied worse than anyone and posessed from zero to two (Luna and Ginny) friends. Still ended up shining the brightest at the end of the series - operated as a leader For albus army and slaughtered nagini.
He is so cool! I'll be honest, Granger is still probably my favorite, but I love Neville! He is so kind and pure! He is clumsy and forgetful, but ends up being so brave! He is the one who continues Dumbledore's Army after Harry, Ron, and Hermione have to look for Horcruxes. He stands up to the Carrows during Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, but even before then, in The Order Of The Phoenix he stands up to Bellatrix. He doesn't go looking for a fight, but will stand up for what and who he believes in! He is always willing to help, and he will always be there. Neville grows so much over the series, but he is always so pure and willing to help. He might seem like a minor character, but he is so important and so amazing that he really stands out, even among those who have more lines.
What the heck? DRACO? BELLATRIX? VOLDEMORT are higher up than Neville? Are you kidding me right now? Neville is amazing. He was bullied by Draco, Pansy, basically all the Slytherins, not to mention Snape who basically tortured him his whole life, so cruelly and viciously that Snape was his biggest fear?! And SNAPE is higher than Neville? Sorry, but nothing Snape does will ever make up for his absolutely evil, cruel nature. Neville took on Crabbe and Goyle by himself in their first year! He killed Nagini, which saved Harry's life. He loved his parents so much even though they were loony and didn't recognize him. He stuck up to Bellatrix, he risked his life so many times to defend his parents. He restarted the the. He gives hope to all the poor supposed "losers" out there. He proves that just because no one believes in you does not mean that you can't do everything that you want to do. He is made of completely utterly pure GOODNESS. There is not one unlikable trait about Neville from ...more
A very interesting character. As Tom Riddle, he wasn't evil, necessarily, but rather was ambitious and devious enough to undergo a death-defying transformation by which his existent cruelty manifested into an inhuman incarnation of evil. His discrimination against half-bloods is sophisticated, as he himself is half blooded. When choosing to kill either Harry or Neville, he chose half blooded Harry. A particularly fascinating part, in my opinion, was when Harry gave Voldemort the choice to become "a man" instead of the shriveled baby at the platform of Death. Go reread the very end of Deathly Hallows, Harry and Riddle's duel.
He might need a little plastic surgery but, he was one of the main characters. So, people thought he was amazing but, he was an amazing wizard not to mention but he was handsome as a teen. Then, he landed a place in everyone's hearts because of his bad childhood without parents.
The best villain ever in any fantasy series. His dark arts skills are just simply wondrous. He should be among top 5 characters, at least. Nobody can match YOU -KNOW- WHO's powers (except the great Harry Potter, of course and Dumbledore too )
He's hilarious. There's a reason everyone makes fun of him, and makes jokes about him. He tries to be evil, as evil as he possibly can, and he is, but he isn't nearly as evil as Umbridge.
Ginny Weasley is definitely the best character! People say that she was totally nonexistent in the first few books, then suddenly turned into a magnificent beautiful diva in the fifth-sixth book. ...Wrong. If you read closer, you could see Ginny's progression. Being possessed at the age of 11? Honestly? That's difficult. Slowly she went from a shy, nervous girl to getting more confident and strong. She turned into an awesome young woman. I absolutely love Hermione, she's my second favorite, but I loved Ginny more for another reason, one that she was she so easy to laugh. I'm more like Hermione, honestly, a bossy schoolgirl, and I utterly adored Ginny's sense of humor and bravery. I think the order should be Hermione first, because even if she's my second favorite more people love her, then Ginny, then Luna (who's my third favorite). Stop shunning Ginny, and realize how AMAZING she is!
She is so underrated in my opinion. It's really sad how those who have only seen her in the movies know her as shy awkward and only their to be the love interest. Instead of the badass witch we get in the books.
Ginny is funny, brave, bold and she is not afraid of anything. When we saw her at the start of the movie we honestly didn't know she would turn out amazing
She’s my second favourite character after Hermione of course, and she is so cool! She was possessed by the most dangerous wizard of all time at the age of 11! She had a crush on Harry forever but only went out with others at Hermione’s smart advice to loosen up. She became an awesome young witch who stuck up for Luna Lovegood and other people. She used to be shy and bashful but now she’s a really cool girl!
He wasn't exactly evil. He was racist because of his family's prejudice. Deep down he still has a heart and is not evil. Unicorn wands don't go over to the dark arts easily and Hawthorn is only for extremely capable wizards
Draco is incredible. He may have been a bully, but you can EASILY see in the last few movies that he feels guilty and that he doesn't want to be a death eater. Quote from Draco "I have to do this, I have to kill you or they'll kill me." he didn't want to kill Dumbledore (and he didn't) but he was just trying to save himself. Besides he pretty much saved Harry in the Deathly hallows when Harry, Hermione and Ron were captured and Bellatrix asked Draco if it was Harry so they could kill him (harry was injured so they didn't know) and Draco said he didn't know even though he clearly knew... Bottom line DRACO ROCKS
Many people have hated on this character for a very long time, but as the series goes more deeper, for some reason I actually like this guy more and more. I didn't realize that he was a nice person. Honestly, He is my favorite character. not many people might notice it, but he's a very cool character and he should be higher. Come on! He's changed and he's amazing! Draco's better than this
He's as much a victim as anybody else. His beliefs are gotten from his own twisted upbringing - rather than putting Draco himself at fault, surely it'd be better for his critics to look at the real reason for his purist attitude: Lucius, his father. I'm not saying that Draco is a good person, no - just that he's not necessarily as bad as people make him out to be. Don't forget also, that Harry is the protagonist. Of course his enemy is going to only be portrayed in a bad light as much as possible - but that means that any good side he has is hidden. And he does have a good side, a conscience, that is to say - he evidences this in Deathly Hallows.
Lots of people died for Harry, but Dobby has something good in it. Sure, only an elf could do that kind of Apparition. 'Pitiful' isn't the same as 'good', but surely we all pity the fact that Dobby gets death threats five times a day? Did Kreacher? And Winky just sat there crying. But if Kreacher and Dobby both came and defied their masters, their old ones, I would still like Dobby. Kreacher would defy his masters for reparation. Dobby would defy his masters because they were cruel to him, which makes him different. He seeks what an elf knows not. He seeks revenge and payback. He defies Lucius, Narcissa, Bellatrix and a few others, but mostly his old masters, because he cares about elf rights and is angry that they treated him coldly. I like Hermione here, but back to Dobby. And he's repaying Harry for freeing him, by freeing him. Lets see, Severus Snape on here. Dobby was fair to those fair to him, sought revenge for those who were not, and was unafraid of death. How come elves ...more
Seriously, where do I start!? Dobby is just so sweet, and protects Harry at all costs. His death scene has me in tears every time. He is ADORABLE, and his laugh when he's jumping on the bed in Chamber of Secrets is so funny! Master has given Dobby a vote! Dobby is free!
I was nicknamed Dobby because I once screwed up my face and the teacher said I look like Dobby... so.. BUT HE'S AWESOME FOR OTHER REASONS! WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE ;-;
I love Dobby so much I do not want to read book 7 because I know he will die. He is so sweet and loyal and gave everything up for his friends. He made mistakes but everything was to protect Harry. I must admit I think his voice in the movie was unfitting but he is just the most adorable creature ever! It's so unfair he must die. RIP Dobby.
As a character Hagrid provides comic relief and an uplifting side to an otherwise dark story. The way Rowling embedded his character into the story is fantastic as the story called for a simple character who was there for Harry from the beginning to the end. His parents having been killed and Sirius imprissoned, there still needed to be a character Harry could rely on, even if he didn't know it until 13 years of age. Dumbledore and McGonnagal are both far too busy and in positions of direct superiority in the school to allow for this kind of relationship, and Snape, although he did care for Harry more than once, had too many childhood issues with Harry's parents to warrent a comparable relationship. So Hagrid fills this void by being a grounds keeper who is simple minded enough to be on the main three characters' mindset level and still be old enough to take care of them in times of need.
Hagrid?!? Number 18?!? Think people, he brought harry to privet drive, was always nice, brought buckbeak, gave harry a birthday cake, etc. How can Dobby be infront of this guy! Dobby just is a house elf that almost killed harry by the bulger in quiditch, is a little funny and cute. I know he saved harry and all but Hagrid was there from start to finish always respecting the trio and Dumbledore. So he should switch spots with Dobby! Dobby should be where Alastor moody is! So, Hagrid is funny, loyal, kind, heartwarming, and mysterious at first. So vote for Hagrid and at least make him in the top ten! Agree!
Absolutely adorable. I mean - he had to go into hiding in the last book For arranging pro Harry Potter party - could it get Any more sweeter!
Rubeus Hagrid is my favorite Harry Potter character next to Hermione Granger. Hagrid is totally the best and should totally at least be in top ten, or switch places with Ginny, because she is just a Mary Sue dressed pretty. Hagrid was always my favorite, ever since he set foot in the place where the Weasleys were on vacation. Especially when he meant to turn Dudley into a pig, but ended up giving him a pig tail. That was hilarious. Hagrid is so kind-hearted, warm, funny, loyal, dedicated, trust-worthy, open-minded, brave, and protective. Hagrid was the closest father Harry could get, even more than Sirius Black, because of how kind and caring he was to Harry was much more help to Harry than Sirius. Hagrid would be a wonderful father, if he was one. And Hagrid told Harry he was the wizard. Without Hagrid, Harry would still be stuck with the Dursleys and never would have learned the truth about being a wizard. And along with that, Hagrid baked Harry a birthday cake to go along with it, ...more
I must say, when I saw her this low, I was going to puke. People think this is a strict old lady, but she's got an inner sense of humor. She can brew the Animagus Potion, conjure a Patronus, fight Snape and Voldemort, live, be fierce and loyal to Dumbledore (he will not be single-handed!), stands up bravely towards the Carrows. I love to here her say, "May I ask what you are doing, Professor Carrow?" it makes me laugh so hard. I thought it would be appropriate if she married Dumbledore. Sure, she's not as skilled, but she's this type of inner-skilled.
If Harry dueled her, and they were the same age, blast! He was saved but a million times by luck. The Stone: His mother's love, Ron and Hermione. Tom Riddle: Fawkes and the Sorting Hat. Dementors: That was pretty good, but it was because somebody taught him. He didn't accidentally say 'EXPECTO PATRONUM'. Voldemort: Oh really? The wands. Battle of DOM: Members of the Order, and it was his fault. What did he achieve in Half-Blood ...more
She is such an amazing character! I love how she stands up to Umbridge. I also love the line "Have a biscuit Potter," when Harry gets sent to her office when he yells at Umbridge... OR even when she tells Harry (and indirectly Umbridge) "I will assist you to become an Auror if it is the last thing I do! If I have to coach you nightly, I will make sure you achieve the required results! '"
She is a wonderful mentor to Harry, Ron and Hermione, when Dumbledore wasn't there for them.
Another passage I loved was "I should have made my meaning plainer,' said Professor McGonagall, turning at last to look Umbridge directly in the eyes. ‘He has achieved high marks in all defense Against the Dark Arts tests set by a competent teacher.'"
McGonagall is so underrated! She is an amazing character and has a very funny humour. She always made sure the students at Hogwarts were okay and I love the way she stands up against Umbridge! -PW
McGonagall is by far the best character. She is head of Gryffindor house. She hates Umbridge and the Death Eaters. In the last book she was amazing. She fought the death eaters. She would charge down the halls with desks in the Battle of Hogwarts. She cares about her students a lot she likes her house. She is very fair. She is also very loyal to Dumbledore and she is Hermione's favorite teacher.
Bella is awesome!
I love her craziness and everything.
And she is not all evil, she was made like that.
The Black family is known for being interested in dark arts and their obsession of keeping the line and the wizarding world pure. And that's how Cygnus and Druella Black raised their daughters.
Yes, Andromeda was strong enough to leave all of this behind her and see how wrong this all was, but Bella just couldn't. They had already brainwashed her and she wasn't strong enough to do anything against it. She was strong in another way, a powerful witch, but she couldn't see past the Black pureblood obsession, like Sirius and Andromeda did. That's what made her what she was in the end.
But still, I love her. She amazes me. And her character really makes
Bellatrix should at least be in the top ten!
watch sisters of house black it is free on youtube and it will explain everything and Bellatrix is actually more powerful than Voldemort, SIRIUSLY! Really, I'm dead Sirius! OOps, I think I got the joke ron!
Bellatrix is awesome! Although yeah, she tried to kill Ginny, that fight between her and Molly was just incredible. She is definitely my favourite villain.
If I had to choose a favorite antagonist, villain, or Death Eater, it'd be Bellatrix for the win! She's amazing, and the actor portrays her so well. Her attitude in the books and the movies is how a true villain behaves. Unlike some villains (COUGH COUGH SCOURGE FROM WARRIORS), she doesn't hold a grudge for a lifetime, and she has a personality that should be the definition of DEATH EATER!
WHO says she can't get Horcruxes. The diary was done, so was the ring. As for the locket, she would morph into Pius Thicknesse and force Umbridge. For the diadem, she could pretend to be Severus Snape. As for the cup, she just morphs into Bellatrix. Just get done with it, she died seeking revenge, her power is love. You might have noticed me voting for Minerva and Dobby.
She tries sooo hard to get Lupn to marry her, and he confesess he loves her and they get married! but I have to say, Lupin Deserved what he got from Harry.
She is by far my favourite and I feel like she should have deserved a bit more scenes in the movies and the books. Her personality is just amazing. She has flaws of course which is what I like about her. Unlike Harry who thinks he has to do everything. I love her punk style but her death is so tragic! Especially since it was after she had Teddy Lupin
Tonks is so underrated, but in the books she was funny, brave, relatable, sweet and flawed nevertheless. I love her attitude and the rebellious vibe she brings. Her death was devastating, so disappointed her part and relationship with Remus basically got ignored in the movies. She's my favourite alongside Remus. Never getting over remadora.
True mother figure For all in the series. Sincere, kind, loving and very funny. Raised seven plus one amazing children. Highly skilled on magic, killed Bellatrix
Harry. Sirius. Fred and George. Neville. Ginny. Hermione. These are all people who I considered voting for first. But… Molly Weasley. Mrs Weasley, who sent a boy she had met for half a minute a home knitted sweater and fudge. Mrs Weasley, who decided to spend what money her husband won on a trip to see family. Mrs Weasley, who accepted Harry into the house when he walks in with no warning whatsoever. And Mrs Weasley, who duels and defeats the greatest Death Eater of all time.
She is really the best Weasley. We need to get her above Ron, Ginny and Fred & George (they shouldn't even be combined: they're different people...) Even though her kids & husband are a bit disappointing (other than King Percy) she is great. And she should definitely not be below Tonks (Tonks could hardly be considered relevant). MOLLY! MOLLY! MOLLY!
Molly is really very nice. She was like a mother to Harry. I still remember, her boggart was that her family is dead. It is also written that her boggart was also Harry dead. She was a very good mother who cared very much for her children. Even when Percy left his home, she started crying whenever someone said Percy's name. I love Molly...
Fred is so fun! Troublemaker at all times, and he has such a strong relationship with all his siblings and parents, especially George. His scene where he and George cheer up the small child who was punished by Umbridge is so heartwarming. So sad he had to lose his life.
I was reading deathly hallows at school and once I heard Percy say “no! Fred no!” I knew it happened. I sobbed uncontrollably at school then went to the field to dig a grave for him. I couldn’t believe this was happening. I could t dare think or George.
My stage of crying
1. I just realised and I started softly crying
2. I read on and started sobbing. My teacher sakes me what was happening and I went “NO FRED DIED!” She read the page I was on and tried to calm me down
I will admit he is not my favorite. However he does not deserve to be this low on the list! I am going to be honest here. I didn't cry when Dumbledore died. Or when Moody died. Or when Hedwig died (almost did though). I had never cried for any character death in any book, movie, or T.V. show. But then Fred died and finally I cried. It was only two tears but that's more then any other character death. Fred was a hilarious and awesome character and didn't deserve to be this low down.
I hate how in the books how Fred and George have identical personalities. I mean, twins usually have some similarities, but seriously, it's kind of unrealistic that they have the exact same personality. If J.K. Rowling had bothered to give them some differences in personality they would be perfect.
He was so funny, even when trying not to be! He was a focal point of the 4th book, and his death hit me really hard. So unexpected! Also, fun fact: my dad named his boat "Constant Vigilance" after him. He named his other boat "Azkaban".
I personally find it funny that who we know as Mad-eye is actually mostly Crouch Jr.
Yeah, we only meet the real mad eye for the order of the Phoenix scenes and the battle of the seven potters
He's so important I was so bummed when he died
He is one of my favorite characters!
He should be higher. Definitely in the morally gray area.
Cool Professer. Just the give him WAY too much screen time.
He is friendly, which is a rare gift among the Slytherins
I am not theft sure but he is good.
Hedwig died to protect Harry! She's cute and amazing and smart and faithful and loyal and reliable and fantastic and awesome and any other good attribute you can think off! Fabulous! Marvelous! Anything! She's the best!
I love Hedwig and everything but... Hedwig is an owl. That is a pretty big problem because owls cannot speak, and that limits her personality greatly. She cannot have conversations with other characters, she cannot develop, and she cannot be a very complex character of high literary merit. I'm having a hard time seeing why she's so high on the list...
I didn’t know Hedwig died because I hadn’t finished the series. But my friend decided to say out of nowhere “RIP Hedwig.” This is an amazing character.
Hedwig is a very sweet owl. It was extremely tragic when she died. She was the only friend of Harry in the privet drive. "Hedwig wants to be let out of her cage! "
Funny how he hates Harry, then is kind to him. Teaches people a lesson: treat someone wrong, they'll be wrong write back at you. But one kind word can change everything.
He's not my favorite character (<3 Snivellus) but he deserves the top 20: he's so complex and underrated! That might be because of the movies, that completely eclipsed him for the main plot: getting the locket. But he, like Bellatrix, appeared only in the fifth book, and what an appearance for both of them. They both killed Sirius, but while Bella did it to "cut off the bad branches on her family tree" Kreacher actually had a good reason. Not just that, his relationship with Regulus was so deep, and seeing Sirius be like "Yeah, my brother, total loser! " he had so much compressed anger inside of himself. You see him in Deathly Hallows, when they're planning the assault of the Ministry, he's so happy just because Harry Ron and Hermione treated him decently, and gave him Regulus locket. His motivations are really complex, which makes a complex character that not so many people can enjoy!
Okay, so I hated Kreacher all through the series until the very end in the Battle of Hogwarts when all those house elves ran out of the Hogwarts Kitchens carrying weapons with Kreacher leading them and I was like I LOVE KREACHER. It was right when Harry needed them and yeah. Also when Harry, Hermoine, and Ron were apparating out of the ministry in the Deathly Hallows and Yaxley grabbed onto them and they accidentally apparated him into Grimmauld Palace and Harry thought about poor Kreacher with his soup and I was like, awww! That's it, just wanted to say that although Dobby will always be the number one house-elf, Kreacher is pretty good too.
Kreacher is one of the most complex characters in the entire series. At first, he puts on an evil/mean persona around others, but once the trio begins to spend more time with him in DH, he reveals what a flawed and emotionally damaged character he really is. Kreacher for top 20!
We have had too many extrovert male leads, I agree. Newton seems like such an amazing character that would just need more getting to know. Hufflepuffs don't seem to get a lot of love and I honestly think Newt deserves the love. He did cause quite a bit of disaster, but he did of course put in plenty of effort to fix the problem(s) he caused. His history in Hogwarts really shows what a great person he is, displays his kindness, his selflessness he displayed which resulted in his sentence for expulsion when he took the blame for Leta Lestrange's experiment that risked another student's life (The experiment involved a Jarvey). He really suits the Hufflepuff label he carries around. I see him as especially an amazing inspiration for others to do what they love as he did, despite it disappointing his family. He is the wizard form of Steve Irwin, doing what he loves.
Me and newt r exactly the same because we both love magical creatures. And he is just the best,he should be higher. About 20 steps higher
He was so awesome and funny in the new movie! He's officially one of my top 5 favourite characters in the franchise now.
He should not be included on this list. Fantastic Beasts should be separate in my opinion.
