Luna Lovegood

Luna Lovegood was a witch, the only child and daughter of Xenophilius and Pandora Lovegood. Her mother accidentally died while experimenting with spells when Luna was nine and Luna was raised by her father, editor of the magazine The Quibbler, in a rook-like house near the village of Ottery St Catchpole more.

Though I like her and Hermione equally, Hermione is higher on the list. I think Luna is the most unique, kind, and brave character I have ever read. She doesn't care what other people think of her because she is herself and also listens to others. She is also remarkably smart, which many people don't see. She may not be the top of the class like Hermione, but she can be just as wise as Albus Dumbledore. And she is also, though no the top of her class, very book smart too. One of my favorite characters of all time!

Honestly, I think she should be on top. Being autistic, Luna is someone I connect with. I always feel a bit out-of-step with the world, I march to the beat of my own drum, and I feel like people think I'm odd. What I love about Luna, aside from her overall, is that she loves herself and others unconditionally. I've had a lot of self-hatred recently and I want to be able to love myself as Luna does. Plus I'm just as sane as she is.

I love Luna. At first moment that she appears in the book, I knew that I would fall in love with her immediately. Luna is the total nice opposite of Hermione, the good counterpoint of trio. I always thought Harry should have fallen in love and married to Luna, instead of Ginny, because Luna is a character much more interesting, unique and charismatic than Ginny, in my humble opinion. Ten years later, I hold the same vision. - Palmeiras

The absolute best. She is by far the kindest, most loyal character in the whole series, who seriously appreciates everything in life. Her friends mean so much to her, which is truly heartwarming given that she didn't really have any before she met the golden trio. She is strange because that is the way she is and that is what makes her truly special. Luna will always be herself and I appreciate her so much for that.

She is unique, she not pay attention when people are saying. She care about her friend, she is smart(that's the reason why the sorting hat put her in ravenclaw)

Luna is just so cool she doesn't care what other people think about she just stays her sweet and loyal self she is also really honest to people as if lying wasn't even thing. Also that part in the deathly hallows when Harry goes into Luna's room and sees the painting she made of Harry, Hermione, Ginny, Ron and Neville and around them it says friends that part broke my heart

She's one of the most wackiest characters I've read of, but one of the most loveable. Luna Lovegood is one of the most loyalist too, and she's able to ignore all the haters. And I love the fact she's the first one who actually made Harry realize the world around him after Sirius died. She's just amazing, and one of my favorites.

Love Luna she is awesome. With her always craving pudding and the fact that she has always stayed close with harry, ron and hermione is so cool. She is the best. I wish we would have met her sooner!

Luna is my favorite character. She was always there for Harry, and never judged him. Luna lived in her own little world, and didn't grow up with normal parents. Her mother died at 9, and her father was a little...loony. She thought it was normal that Harry accidentally dyed his eyebrows, which was hilarious.

Oh my gosh. I posted on her yesterday but I really don't care. Luna Lovegood is the kindest, sweetest, most caring witch in the series. She's smart as well, and clever, and dreamy, and even though she is all this she's also naive, and innocent. But she still knows what's going on. She's already always prepared for anything, as she proves by wearing shoes to bed. Plus, remember what she said when Dobby died? Remember how she closed his
eyes? If that didn't make you cry, than you are a robot. She speaks the (uncomfortable) truth, but she will never insult you. Ever. She is the best witch. Remember when she helped Harry make a patronus in the battle of Hogwarts? And after he killed You Know Who, she distracted them so he could go to his friends? And even though her mother is dead, she is always positive. She's still positive even after she lost all her possessions. Also, she's creative. Remember her lion hat? She's eccentric, sweet, wacky, wild, and amazing. They all call her Loony ...more

I love Luna so much. She is so unique and really interesting. She is also a great role model because she is always herself and does not care what people think, this sends across a message saying everyone should show off who they are and they shouldn't worry what anyone else thinks about them!

Luna is easily the best character. She's unlike any other character. She shows that you don't need to fit in to be happy or cool and she never cares what anyone thinks of her. She knows she's a good person and the people who really know her should agree. Being different is better than being the same as everyone

Luna never cared about others opinion. She is a good reminder to all of us in real life to stand up for what we believe in and not care what others think. She knows love, she knows how to dream to trust and she is altogether the best character. She supports her friends and family no matter what. But she isn't just a dream- like crazy girl. She knows suffering her mom died. She is an amazing dueler. If you read the books than you will realise that she saved Harry's life in the order of the pheonix. Luna is the best character because she goes against streotypes and opens our eyes to the world around us. Ily, Luna!

She sees things differently from everyone else, and she's not afraid to show it. P.S. She recognizes Harry when he has a disguise, lived in a dungeon for who knows how long, figures out that the diadem is a horcrux, can find the good in practically everyone, suffered through everyone's teasing, and went through her mother's death all while keeping that amazing attitude, not being afraid to show who she truly was, and kept being one of the smartest characters in the entire series. She's spunky, weird, calm, and I love her, so there.

How is Luna not #1? She is the only character that is always herself. She is funny, kind, smart, a bit odd and totally AWESOME! I mean, Hermione is great and all, but Luna is really the best. - hpwarriors

Luna was phenomenal! I love Hermione a lot, and when Luna showed up, she was so different from her that I loved her too. Luna's intelligent, open-minded, kind, and has always been there for her friends when they need her. I think her as unique, not strange.

Luna has been my favorite character since first reading about her. My family used to call me Luna Lovegood because I danced to a tune no one else could hear. I still dance to that tune today.

"You're just as sane as I am." I fell in love with her character as soon as she popped up in both the movies and the books. She's unique, funny, adorable and just generally one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Personally she taught me to look at the positive side of life and to enjoy everything to the fullest extent no matter what anyone thinks of you. Nargles, Crumple-Horned Snorkacks, she taught me that belief in something that everyone else thinks is "loony" is alright.

Luna is often overlooked, but she deserves more recognition. She's sweet and strange and has a talent for blunt honesty. She can always take the edge off tense conversations. In short, she's tops!

Although many think she is strange, Luna Lovegood is most certainly an amazing character. She is a sweet, humorous, and intelligent Ravenclaw, truly selfless. Can you count the many acts of kindness she has performed? Surely not. From the words she spoke at Dobby's funeral to the time when she gave Harry his (very deserved) peace (she distracted everyone, covering for his escape in 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'), I personally find it impossible to neglect her kind personality and excellent character. And not only that, but she has been through some troubles in her life; take a second, and think about her mother. Luna lost her mother at the young age of nine and misses her dearly. She does not mourn her too much, however, which is rather admirable. She's often found bullied as well, with others calling her foul nicknames, such as 'Loony'. Yet she still bravely puts up with it. There was never a scene where Luna fully lost her temper ― and if that can't persuade you into ...more

Luna is all-time best character. She is extremely intelligent. Before you start going like oh so is Hermione. Luna is imaginative and creative on top of that. Take that Hermione.

Well she is a non caring person she does not care what other people think and my dog is named after her and I love her wand and her actor is Irish so that makes her even better

Shes got such a cute voice and a swirly and mysterious personality! Her back story is really interesting, her overall life is intriguing and shes a incredible character!

Luna Lovegood is awesome! She's fun, nice, and crazy in a good way! She always helped Harry, Ron and Hermione and didn't care when people made fun of her. She deserves to be #1!

Personally, I think that Luna should be above Snape and Ron. I'm not saying they're bad, but I really do think that Ms. Lovegood has, indeed, the potential to be the best. She's a really beautiful and quirky character. Unlike what most people say, she's not an oddball Ravenclaw- quite the contrary. She is a living example of Ravenclaw's most prided traits- intelligence, creativity, the ability to think outside the box, and genuine human understanding, and that, I think, makes her beautiful. As a man who has his priorities right once said, "Beauty is only skin-deep."
