What. Why isn't Neville #1? Have you guys not got ANY of the hints that he is the chosen one? First off, he's great at all magic except maybe Divinitation (because the wand chooses the wizard and he had his dad's wand the hole time so he sucked at magic for a bit) and when Harry was out abandoning the school in the deaths hallows, Neville stayed to protect the school, every day he'd be punished way worse than Dolores' punishments, probably had to go through the crucio course, and yet, he kept going and standing up the teachers, even Snape, and he was his biggest fear! He even kept the the going, and bringing hope that Harry would come to all the students so they would keep going! And not to mention how brave he is, remember when Voldemort came back with Harry's body, and Neville refused to believe he died and literally challenged Voldemort himself to a dual? He also destroyed just as many horcruxes as Harry! He is the reason why all the students liked Harry, and that they did not ...more

He is so cool! I'll be honest, Granger is still probably my favorite, but I love Neville! He is so kind and pure! He is clumsy and forgetful, but ends up being so brave! He is the one who continues Dumbledore's Army after Harry, Ron, and Hermione have to look for Horcruxes. He stands up to the Carrows during Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, but even before then, in The Order Of The Phoenix he stands up to Bellatrix. He doesn't go looking for a fight, but will stand up for what and who he believes in! He is always willing to help, and he will always be there. Neville grows so much over the series, but he is always so pure and willing to help. He might seem like a minor character, but he is so important and so amazing that he really stands out, even among those who have more lines.

I love Neville. When you first meet him he seems like a shy kid with no talent, and you are surprised he is placed in Gryffindor. Lo and behold, he turns out to be a perfect fit there. I loved watching his courage come out over the books, and my favorite quote across the entire series was this: "It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends."

It seemed at first like Neville was only a comic relief who was there to be fat and do stupid things, in The Deathly Hallows, Neville shows us just how much of a badass he can be. He saved Hogwarts and stood up to Voldemort.

My favorite is how he builds up courage over the books, and you totally see the transformation when he looks the Death Eaters square in the face and says, "Hey! Losers! He isn't here."

The bravest character in the series, he carried Hermione through the battle of the department of mysteries, he faced snape every day even though he was Neville's greatest fear, he stood up to Voldemort when nobody else would he is amazing

Neville may be the only character in the Harry Potter series who really grows and changes over the course of the series. He starts out as a timid, cowardly and unsure boy, and matures into one of the bravest and characters in the books.

That final speech deserves number one on any list. His character development was insane, and he was the viewer's character in the series. He should be, no question, number one.

He's changed a lot from the first book.

Neville. My dream man, it is just sad that he is behind the main character. I mean, of course the main characters would be at the top, but I like the side characters more. And neville is the best out of all of them

Agreed. Neville should be second person. Neville was always the loser, and then in The Deathly Hallows, he was the one who pretty much saved the day.

He is far and away the most likable character in the series. He never really does anything mean, his parents are so sad, and he comes up out of nowhere to fulfill his half of the prophecy. I love Hagrid, too, but he can get kind of annoying for all the trouble he unintentionally causes for Harry.

There are other character like Lupin and Snape that I like better, but you can't deny that Neville is a wonderful character.

Neville is the best character. His personality changes so much. He stood up to Voldemort and Death Eaters. Go Neville!

LOL he might have started out not so great, but he proved himself in the seventh book.

NEVILLE CHANGE SO MUCH! He was a shy awkward kid and now he literally stood up to Voldemort ALONE. Neville you are amazing

Neville is so underrated despite being so pivotal. He really deserves to be in the top ten.

Come on people! He is the best underdog who raised to the top.

Personally, I have a super crush on Neville. I know that on the inside, everyone wants to have sex with him

Neville is the best. I think it's funny that he has a name like Longbottom, sticks up for himself, and he is a bit of a wimp in the first two episodes but then grows up to be a great guy. He has not got all the brains, but he's very talented. He is extremely funny, and the way that the actor plays Nevill I think it's just great. One of the best characters. Go Neville!

Neville basically killed Voldemort when he decapitated the big snake - DoroExploro13

Guys, come on. NO WAY is Neville 13th. He should be AT LEAST 4th, maybe after Sirius, Bellatrix and Luna.

He's awesome! He killed a snake AND blew up a bridge! A FLIPPING BRIDGE! He gets bullied and tormented all his life, his parents are insane, and he has a shameful last name, yet he still stood up to voldemort. He is the living embodiment of epicness!

How can people blame Snape for treating Neville so badly. I know it wasn't Neville's fault and nor was Snapes. Snape just couldn't help it because if Voldemort had attacked Neville instead of Harry, Lily would probably be alive.

Why isn't Neville at top 10? HE IS JUST SO AWESOME. I bet he is as capable as Harry
