Best Horror Movie Icons

The Top Ten
1 Jason Voorhees (Friday The 13th series) Jason Voorhees is a character from the Friday the 13th series. He first appeared in Friday the 13th as the young son of camp cook-turned-murderer, Mrs. Voorhees.

Jason lives! The most terrifying violent supernatural serial killer ever! He will kill every teenager at Camp Crystal Lake!

You can't kill Jason, never! He will always find a way to come back and slaughter anyone who enters his propety (camp crystal lake)

WOOWOO Go Jason! I cheered like that in every movie HE was in! Jason in boss! You can only hurt him by water!

Just iconic. You'll see hockey mask killers every where but not like him

2 Freddy Kruger (Nightmare On Elm Street series)

It is amazing Freddy is not number one for many reasons. No one can be like Freddy. Freddy can kill Jason in his dreams. Quote about Jason by Robert/Freddy: "He's big, he's dumb, he's slow, he's stupid, and he ain't got no style! ".

Jason is boring. He can't talk, he's not smart, he's ugly, I CAN GO ON. Freddy is smart, kills better, and Freddy can talk. And is just better overall.

Even though dude Jason is immortal just like Freddy, Freddys kills are like no other, they're unique and sometimes suprising, Jason doesn't leave much great kills for us to see.

Freddy is more creative than Jason. Jason's a Myers clone most of the time. Not always, but mostly.

3 Michael Myers (Halloween series) Michael Myers is a character from the Halloween series of slasher films. He first appears in John Carpenter's Halloween as a young boy who murders his older sister, then fifteen years later returns home to murder more teenagers. ...read more.

Michael Myers was the go-by example for most of the 1980's slasher films. Some of his characteristics would be copied by other franchises, most notably 'Friday the 13th'. As said by Dr. Samuel Loomis, "hell will not except Michael Myers". Myers was also described by Loomis as "pure evil" and "evil in the purest form". The best description of myers in my opinion was said in the 2007 remake of Halloween, by Malcom McDowell's version of Dr. Loomis. "In these eyes, one finds only darkness. They will decieve you. They will destroy you. These eyes are the eyes of a psychopath." But Myers was more than just a crazed serial killer, he was an unstoppable, and indestructible dark force. There is no human element in Michael Myers. No reason. No sense of right or wrong. No good or bad. Most slasher villains have some sort of physical imperfection. Severe burns, physical deformities, etc. But not in this case. Scary doesn't have to be physical. What ever was going on in the mind of Michael Myers ...more

He's the personification of pure evil. Without him, there is no Jason Voorhees, because the slasher formula wouldn't exist.

Michael is smart and way more cooler and it really just started with him

it would definatley be between michael myers and jason vorhees

4 Death (Final Destination series)

Is a joke right?

5 Chucky (Child's Play series) Charles Lee Ray is a fictional character and the titular antagonist of the Child's Play horror film series.

He seems more interesting than Jason and Michelle Myers.

Gotta love Chucky. Can't wait til the remake come out.

he so little yet so scary

6 Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre series) Leatherface is a character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror-film series and its spin-offs. He wears masks made of human skin and engages in murder and cannibalism, alongside his inbred family.

Leatherface is a horrifying character. His obedience to his older and more sadistic siblings make him more terrifying because that puts him in the role of a powerful and hulking enforcer. His chief weapon of choice is a chainsaw and let's be real, there's no other weapon that can do more damage to a human body and is more horrifying.

7 Candyman (Candyman series)
8 Pennywise the Clown (Stephen King's It)
9 Jigsaw (Saw series) Jigsaw is a character from the Saw series. He first appears in Saw as a man whose wife passed away. After that, he did lots of tests on people.

Ruthless killer, both with body count and goremanity.

10 Hannibal Lecter (The Silence of the Lambs) Dr. Hannibal Lecter is a character in a series of suspense novels by Thomas Harris. Lecter was introduced in the 1981 thriller novel Red Dragon as a forensic psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer.

The actor's performance was one of the best I've ever witnessed

The Contenders

Predator is his milion kilometers speed planet, very strongly.

12 The Alien (Alien series) The Alien (also known as a Xenomorph) is a fictional extraterrestrial species that serves as the title antagonist of the Alien film series.
13 Jack Torrance (The Shining) John Daniel Edward "Jack" Torrance is the main antagonist of Stephen King's horror novel The Shining.
14 Sadako Yamamura (Ringu)
15 The Blob (The Blob)
16 Dracula (Dracula) Dracula is a legendary character featured in various forms of media, most notably in Bram Stoker's novel "Dracula." He is the archetypal vampire, often depicted as a charismatic and immortal being with a thirst for human blood. Dracula's character has been reimagined in countless adaptations, exploring themes of immortality, the supernatural, and the struggle between good and evil.

Without a doubt, Dracula is the quintessential face of horror.
Crypts, coffins and cemeteries. A corpse that reanimates at sunset to feed. And God forbid you are bitten, you yourself are hopelessly damned.

17 Rusty Nail (Joy Ride series)

Oops I accidently added this one twice

18 Pinhead (Hellraiser series) Pinhead is the main antagonist of the Hellraiser film series. He is the Hell Priest of a sinister realm called the Labyrinth, and is the leader of the order of the gash, an order of demons known as Cenobites who collect the souls of victims who open the lament confirmation.
