By far my favorite. It would be the first album I'd play for someone who has never heard any Iron Maiden. The vocals, melodies and guitar harmonies are dizzyingly beautiful whilst retaining the sheer malevolence of the heavy metal that it is. It boggles my mind that Maiden isn't even more popular than they are.

Sure there is Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, and Rime of the Ancient Mariner, which are great songs, and Powerslave is my favorite Iron Maiden song in any album, but there are more than four tracks in this album worth listening to. The Duelists is a really great song, better than Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, AND Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and in my top 5 favorite Iron Maiden songs of all time, in My Opinion.

The most perfect thing on the universe... Aces High is the best song ever to start a Disc/Show... 2 Minutes To Midnight is a great single, Losfer Words is a GREAT instrumental, Flash Of The Blade and Duellists are both great songs, Back In The Village is a killer tune, and Powerslave/Rime Of The Ancient Mariner tandem is the greatest thing you'll ever heard... The Band and Martin Birch made one of the finest discs...

I remember hearing Aces High on my boom box and immediately riding my bmx bike to the mall and buying this cassette. I listened to this everyday during that wrestling season. I'm still listening to this album 30 years later. Beautiful balance of grit and polish on the production. Aces, 2 Minutes..., Back in the Village and Flash of the Blade have ripping guitar riffs. Losfer Words is a fantastic instrumental with twin guitar harmonies. So much has been said about Mariner, but it truly is Iron Maiden's epic apex, the epic metal song by which all other epic metal songs are measured.

Great album...
At start we have "Aces High" and "2 Minutes To Midnight"
- two awesome songs with catchy riffs and great vocal
Performances, after that we have three good moody songs
Sounding just like a film music, after them there is
Worst song in whole album but after it there is "Powerslave" - one of my favorite metal songs, and
"Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" - long and awesome song with great lirycs.
In my opinion "The Number Of The Beast" is also a great album but "Powerslave" is better.

The best in my books, tis one of the most powerful maiden albums. The Rhyme of the ancient mariner is pure class and should be given more credit. Powerslave is another strong song and should be on the greatest hits list.

Maiden just get better with age and are more dynamic with albums like this and Final Frontier.

Powerslave - EPIC. Rime Of The Ancient Mariner - super EPIC. Flash Of The Blade, The Duelist, Back To The Village... Actually, this cd has no bad songs. One of the best albums I have ever listened to and best of Iron Maiden (that says a lot, because this band has a lot of quite some outstanding albums).

Iron maiden never ceases to amaze me. TNotB and Piece of Mind were great, but Powerslave kicked everything metal up at least four notches. The songs are amazing, and the epic Rime of The Ancient Mariner is not only a great song, but has a deep story. Definitely the best of the best.

Literally over half the album is from the powerhouse start of Aces High, to the tale of the mariner, to the title track Powerslave, and don't forget about the amazing track 2 Minutes to Midnight. Flash of the Blade also deserves to be recognized as well, because of its amazing main guitar riff. Back in the Village is great too, although The Duelists and Losfer Words are so similar musically.

I don't wanna die, I'm a God,
Why can't I live on?

Don't worry Mr. Pharaoh you won't die because Iron Maiden blessed you with his holy melodies and lyrics in 1984 Powerslave album Powerslave song.

Aces High, 2 Minutes To Midnight, Powerslave and Rime of the Ancient Mariner = masterpieces
Flash of the Blade, The Duellists, Back In The Village =
Losfer Words (Big 'Orra) = great too, but I don't like instrumental songs.

Powerslave and Time of The Ancient Mariner are my personal favorites from this album. Aces High and 2 Minutes to Midnight are also amazing. Honestly I haven't heard the rest, but I really should. Plus, the album cover is sick.

In my opinion, this is the best album to listen through with the consistency of the great riffs and solos. However, the Number of the Beast is my favorite album because more legendary songs come from that album. - Songsta41

I believe that counting each good song in the album as a whole, Powerslave is the best Iron Maiden album, topping the more accessible "The Number of the Beast", which in my opinion has several quite dull moments.

Simply amazing! The complete list of songs seem to match each other making this a tru complete album! If one track is to be chosen as "BEST" Rime of The Ancient Mariner could be...

Lucky me - this is the album that got me hooked on Maiden. I bought it new in 6th grade and after all these years, I still say it's their best. Start to finish this album kicks your ass. - Kidkoffee

NOTB is a great album; the title track, Hallowed Be Thy Name and Children Of The Damned standing out in particular, but that album also had the poor Total Eclipse and the relatively average Gangland.

On Powerslave, when the worst song is an instrumental that sets the mood of the album perfectly (and is better than about 2 or 3 songs on NOTB), you know you have gold, especially with the four fan favourites this album houses, along with underrated classics like Flash Of The Blade, The Duellists and Back In The Village. This is my favourite album of all-time and stands head and shoulders above Maiden's other great albums.

This is one of the few albums from any artist where I never want to skip a song. Each track is as solid as the next, and they are all genre defining.

This has some of Maiden's best - Aces High, 2 Minutes To Midnight, Rime of the Ancient Mariner and the underrated Flash of the Blade. Awesome guitar solos, awesome vocals.

Clearly their best album. There's not a single song on this that isn't amazing in its own way. Not to mention the title track, Powerslave is one of their best songs ever

Best album by far. All songs great and others a superb epic performance of drums, guitar, bass and voice. A must, a classic at all levels including the art cover.

Nothing to say except for: Powerslave, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Flash of the Blade. Some of the best Maiden songs ever.

All Maiden albums are great, and it's very hard to choose only one of them! However, I chose Powerslave because Bruce's voice was in his top form!

Powerslave worthy choice for number one. Though my tastes differ these days; I love hearing the title track to this album when it comes on shuffle.
