This perfectly describes school
I can't listen to it anymore without wanting to cry. It's supposed to be happy but it's not. They know they're going to die so they've basically accepted it. It's sad.
I love this song BECAUSE it makes me cry. Especially in the 25th Anniversary Concert. But, after this, I have to go with "One Day More", of course.
Probablly my all time favorite song from Les Mis. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it sung. I have seen both the movie, abd school plays and no matter who sings this song it sounds great, unlike I dreamed a dream ( amazing and stars great as well). But this song just makes me get up and sing along like I'm part of the play as well just amazing.
Darkest song in the whole musical. The picture Thenardier paints with his words sheds light on how truly horrible life for the poor is, especially when gents like Thenardier are hanging about. The opportunism, the chilling music that makes you feel as if you were in the sewers themselves, and Thenardier's insight on how the world truly is a horrible place for those at the bottom of the rung makes this song unique.
Total tearjerker, I think I sing this in my sleep
Hugh Jackman is great in this one
