As many as you may know, Hopsin is a brilliant man and makes good music. Successfully, owning his successful record label Funk Volume, Hopsin managed to make it into XXL, and have his fellow signees' Jarren Benton and Dizzy Wright make it to XXL. Hopsin is successful and one of the best rappers alive. Hopsin inspired me to be independent and to be irrelevant to what society has to say about me. Listen to his song Tears To Snow
After writing the hook for Eminem's hit song, The Monster, there is no doubt this man can't be considered as one of the Top Ten lyricist of all time. Jon has many great songs, believe it or not, his song Paper Planes reaches your soul the first time you hear it. He also has an amazing style, and I've never heard an artist with the same style that Jon acquires.
The hip hop duo from New York City, by the names of Jeremy Dussolliet and Time Sommers, better known as Kinetics & One Love, are no doubt amazing lyricist. They've written songs for many mainstream artist. They're well known for writing the hook for B.O. B's Grammy nominated single Airplanes. They have songs that will guarantee make you burst into tears. Their song Sign Language touched me in a way you can't imagine. It has to be one of the best songs I've ever listened to. It literally made me cry the first time, and several other times.
Ex vocalist of Woe, Is Me. Vocalist of Issues, Tyler has released many songs with the band. In my opinion, the most lyrical song by Issues has to be Disappear (Remember When). Tyler's voice is amazing, and he's a very good looking man himself. I would consider him a good lyricist, but the best. Nevertheless less, feel free to check Issues out, maybe you may disagree.
Madchild is one half of the hip hop duet, Swollen Members. Madchild has a radical voice and it's just impressive, defiantly gives him character. Madchild has funky lyrics, which in some occasions, are considered genius. In the song Jacques Cousteau, Madchild, as I quote, said, "I spit the nicest ether, eating all these rappers like a slice of pizza." As soon as he said that, he became one of my favorite rappers. I think that verse is genius and he definitely deserves to have more credit for spitting his ether in an amazing way.
I am a fan of every genre, rock and metal being my favorites, and there have been MANY great lyricists. Mostly everyone in the top ten deserves to be in there, but Pete is an amazing poet. He's witty and has very deep and meaningful lyrics. I know a lot of people probably don't like him, but just listen to his lyrics in Fall Out Boy. They're great.
Pete Wentz writes really deep lyrics which are full of meaning. There's probably at least one Fall Out Boy song that you can relate to completely, they're so great and well written. And I love the movie references in the titles!
I would say that Wentz definitely deserves to be on this list. A song I that always get's me is "What a Catch, Donnie" on the album "Folie a Deux", a song he wrote for his best friend and Fall Out Boy's lead vocalist Patrick Stump
"I got troubled thoughts and the self-esteem to match, what a catch"
Insanely underrated. It's unbelievable he's only one place ahead from Taylor Swift.
I'm the son of rage and love
The Jesus of Suburbia
From the bible of none of the above
On a steady diet of
Soda pop and Ritalin
No one ever died for my sins in hell
As far as I can tell
At least the ones I got away with
And there's nothing wrong with me
This is how I'm supposed to be
In a land of make believe
That don't believe in me
Get my television fixed
Sitting on my crucifix
The living room or my private womb
While the Moms and Brads are away
To fall in love and fall in debt
To alcohol and cigarettes
And Mary Jane
To keep me insane,
Doing someone else's cocaine
At the center of the Earth
In the parking lot
Of the 7-11 where I was taught
The motto was just a lie
It says home is where your heart is
But what a shame
Cause everyone's heart
Doesn't beat the same
It's beating out of time
Look at me and tell me that's not the greatest lyric you've ever heard
Time of Your Life is probably the most meaningful songs I've ever heard!
Taylor Swift is over him. I hate this world.V 2 Comments
I just looked this guy up on Wikipedia and apparently his name means Thank You God Always. Really? Also his 3rd album was named, Ready for this...
Yes, He stole the name from the Eagles, If he even knows who the Eagles are, Probably another rapper who thinks he's better than anyone else on this planet and knows nothing about music.
If anyone actually votes for this...
I'm so sophisticated get that song and you will no why he is on this list
Wow... Okay... Umm... Who ever put this guy on the list is just as much of a moron as Justin Bieber is. I'm sorry but I don't think he's even a moderately talented lyricist, or artist for that matter. He isn't a good singer, Also I don't think he even writes his own music... When he asks his lyricists to write his music he must say: "I want you to write the worst song you could possibly write, and I'll sing it with my high pitched annoying voice and all my musically illiterate fan girls will love it because I've brain washed them into believing I'm talented." I swear it must be something close to that, or they're just some groupies who got so high they thought they were a lyricist.V 1 Comment
