Top Ten Best Meat Loaf Songs
How do you compete with Bat out of Hell? Drop another epic clocking in damn near 12 minutes. A phenomenal opener for the second best album in the ML catalogue.
Easily could be stated as one of the best songs ever written it has a feel that nobody I've ever shown it to loves even if they don't like meat loaf they love this song. I could throw out songs like stairway to heaven or somebody to love but they don't compare to this, this isn't just the best meat loaf song it is the best period.
Great Music, Great Singing, just a True Artist... Meat sings with all hid heart and soul and it shows.
Again, that is one of my most favorite Songs, Thanks Meat.
The greatest love song of all times. Absolutely perfect. It deserves the number one. A Jewel in one of the best rock albums ever. It will last forever.
What is there to say? One of the greatest opening songs on one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Clocking it damn near 10 minutes. Strap up and let's ride.
This is the best song ever. Length, story everything. It defines rock. This deserves to be top by a mile. Paradise should be second, when it comes on I smirk bearing in mind what it is about.
Arguably the best song I have ever heard in my life. Great vocals, instrumentals, structure, lyrics, and emotion. When I listen to Bat Out of Hell, so do my neighbours!
This is the greatest song ever, so much that I take 10 minutes out of my valuable time just to listen to it! The intro is great, and the story it tells is amazing!
Perhaps Meat Loaf's most iconic track. The creativity in this one is amazing. The sound is phenomenal. Rock, dance, and a baseball announcer waving you around 3rd base.
This song is one of the best songs that I have ever heard just because it portrays two teens lusting for each other, then listening to the baseball game on the dashboard radio, and finally losing love for each other. It is sort of sad really, but really engrosses you in just an 8 minute period of time.
This is a classic of all classics.
Not only does it have a great sound and project great energy, it describes a transaction involving two young people in a way no one else has ever described it.
This ranks right up there with Stairway to Heaven as one of the best rock anthems ever in my opinion.
This is such an amazing album and song. To the comment that they were listening to a baseball game on the radio doesn't get it. It is a metaphor for sexual activity. First Base is kissing...Home Run is intercourse
One of our most requested songs at dances in high school 32 years ago. I still remember the feelings you'd experience when this song played.
I first heard this song when my daughter was growing up. I will always love it. It's what I think of every time Meatloaf is mentioned.
Perhaps the greatest radio friendly track they ever did. Still an absolutely perfect track.
This is a epic song also if you get 2 of the bat out of hell's you can say 2 out of 3 ain't bad
I hope none of this is from his life, especially about the father hitting him. Don't we all have a best friend we remember with such love? My favorite lyrics of Meatloaf of all his songs... love him
Meats best song for crying out loud is not an option so I picked his second best
Most emotional, beautiful and touching song of Meat Loaf. Jim Steinman wrote this song with heart...
Meat Loaf AND Jim Steinman both said this is Jim's greatest song he has ever written.
Absolutely epic. The orchestrations combined with the stunning vocals make this one of the most powerful recordings ever made. If that wasn't enough, two words: the coda. My favorite lyrics of all time.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. I have been listening to it more than a hundred times.
A brilliant slow burner to close one of the most classic albums in history.
Should be #1. The best love song ever written. It's powerful. Extremely.
"What about the future? It's defective! "
"You can shove it up your ass! A"
Deserves to be higher up on the list. Definitely demonstrates Meat's theatrical talent combined with his vocal talent. And Jim Steinman's composition is at the top of his game in this masterpiece outlining a couple's first touch of love on a hot summer night.
No less than #3 best of Meatloaf. Quality and originality of the music is sensational.
Ranked too low on this list!
The video is great with the commentary ending with
On a hot summer night,
would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
[Boy:] I bet you say that to all the boys!
I don't really understand why this is in the top ten. It really isn't that good a song (although it's still better than "Do It! ") Any song from Bat I or II would be better than this, in my opinion.
This needs to be in the mix for sure...
Such a brilliant motivator.
All of these songs above and many more meatloaf songs could be on this list but this one at the moment for me has something special
Amazing combination of metal and oprah with the driving guitar and drums. The singing: Phenomenal! Just everything about this song is great especially for the person who enjoys more hardcore meat loaf.
A great heavy metal meat loaf song. Great vocals!
A little heavy but still great
The best Meat Loaf song ever. Written by the great Jim Steinman. Instead of other Meat Loaf where singing is the only imporant thing (Or almost), this one has several amazing instrumental parts. I love it.
The greatest song of all time with Bohemian Rhapsody
This a awesome song I do know that actually all the songs that meatloaf sings are awesome but for some reason this one is the topone for me there is a lot of feelings that would show between two people with this song
They are just brilliant a group I will always follow
Should be in the Top 10. Such a classic meat loaf song
Great song to Jive to; as is Bat Out of Hell.
How is this NOT in the top 10? Excellent song and epic Meatloaf! Love this song.
Turn off the video and listen to this song
I could listen to this song all night long!
Is not my favorite but it is awesome!
Other than that the song is pretty repetitive but still great
"You've got to learn to dance before you learn to crawl"
The "Wasted Youth" intro is pure genius.
"GOD DAMN IT, DADDY! You know I love you, but you've got a hell of a lot to learn about ROCK, AND, ROLL! "
