He stands out for his style. He is so unique wether in Sleep or OM!

You have to give him credit for succesfully being part of an amazing drums - bass duo band "OM". No other duo ever managed to deliver this kind of awesomeness just using a bass and drums. (Top ten in my humble opinion)

The only bassist ever to make metal basslines like Geezer
Sleep and Om my not be as agressive as Cannibal corpse or something but his basslines are far more groovy check out Dragonaut or something and you will see

68 Conrad Lant Cronos (Venom)

When talking about the greatest metal bassists, I think it's important to take into consideration that this man both fronted and played bass for a band that influenced probably thousands of other bands.

Great bassidt and vocal

69 Taiji Sawada (X Japan)
70 Dave Phoenix (Linkin Park)
71 Ue-Chan (Maximum the Hormone)

No contest, this guy can compete with Flea... No joke look him up on YouTube. - MeowMix

72 Henkka Seppala Henkka Seppala
73 Jon Arena (Sent by Ravens)
74 Scott Ian (Anthrax) Scott Ian (Anthrax) Scott Ian is an American musician, best known as the rhythm guitarist, backing and additional lead vocalist, and the only remaining original founding member of the thrash metal band, Anthrax.

Not even a bass player but an okay guitarist

75 Patrick Judge (Demon Hunter)
76 Dan Spitz (Anthrax)
77 Jeff Hughell (Brain Drill)

Is just plainly insane one the bass and has face ripping solos check the song sadistic abductive and you might change your thoughts.

78 Joey DeMaio (Manowar) Joey DeMaio (Manowar) Joey DeMaio is an American bass player and main songwriter for the heavy metal band Manowar which he founded in 1980. He is also the founder and CEO of Magic Circle Music.

JOEY DEMAIO AND STEVE HARRIS ARE THE BEST TRUE METAL BASSISTS EVER! How is the guy from Bullet For My Valentine, slipknot and a7z higher than him?!? THEY ARE NOT METAL! HAIL TO TRUE METAL!

Joey Demaio got some skills! Father of true metal! He should be in top 3!

Heavy metal would be hard rock without DeMaio

Best, fastest heavy metal bassist of all the time. Hail

79 Sergio Vega (Deftones, Quicksand)

To me he does a great job in Deftones despite he isn't Chi Cheng. I think Chino and the rest of Deftones are really smart for choosing Sergio as their new bassist.

80 Mark Klepaski (Breaking Benjamin)

I like how in the diary of Jane video he really gets into the music. He's obviously the best bass player ever!
