122 Jon Donais

One of the best metal players I've heard. Underrated or under marketed if he's in the 100's. Higher 20%

123 Steve Stevens

One of the best ever. Michael Jackson and Billy Idol will both agree, I assure you.

I agree. He was a beast. I shall Bing what he did after that. Thanks for the heads-up.

124 Timo Tolkki Timo Tolkki Timo Tapio Tolkki is a Finnish musician best known as the former guitarist, songwriter and producer of the power metal band Stratovarius.

He has speed (in stratosphere he sounds just like a violin), quality and a great knowleadge of barroq style. All of that makes him a considerable top ten. METAL

This only proves that these guitarists are rated by popularity. People really need to listen to all guitarists before voting. This guy is amazing. So under rated it's sad. Stratovarius rules

This is the best because he has the feeling, and his compositions are beautiful and amazing, the way he plays is his own, it is TIMO TOLKKI!

There is a simple pleasure in listening to this guitarist. - skinsman

125 Dan Jacobs

no doubt.. belongs in top ten

although atreyu aren't that big... yet.. He is an amazing guitarist

126 Steve Clark

Can't believe he is only 85th! Definitely Leppard always seems to get overlooked and yet it something I still listen to. Watching his performances he IS the music! Presence and power with some of the most memorable guitar solos. Wish alcohol had not taken him too soon...

Such an underrated guitarist. The songs he wrote had great rhythm as well as the lead parts. 'Switch 625', 'Die Hard The Hunter', 'Photograph', 'Rock Of Ages', 'Love Bites', 'Gods Of War. Anything from the first album to Hysteria, you can hear his sound influencing the band through those albums. He played to the song and wrote most of DL's music, plus he had awesome stage presence.

127 C. C. DeVille

C.C. DeVille is easily one of the best players to ever to pick-up the instrument.

All those who bag DeVille and his playing do so only because they were once turned on by his appearance and hate themsleves for that, but take it out on DeVille.

Be it in his riffs or solos, a brilliantly talented guitarist is Mister C.C. DeVille.

128 Phill Collen

was part of my favorite band to me he was the 2 best guitarists guitarist of the 80's besides eddie van halen should be higher on the list totally top ten material

129 Eddie Clarke

Fast Eddie Clark deserves to be with his contemporaries like Adrian Smith, Glenn Tipton, and Tony Iommi. He was a key figure in combining heavy metal with punk rock and incredibly underrated.

Extremely underrated, motorhead was not the same without him

130 Criss Oliva Criss Oliva Christopher "Criss" Michael Oliva was an American musician who was the lead guitarist and co-founder of the band Savatage.

Great guitarist. Died too young. Just listen to the live album Ghost in the Ruins to get a sampling!

I guess he's so low and underrated for 2 reasons: 1st, he died too young (RIP) and 2nd, Savatage is one of the most underrated metal bands ever. - Metal_Treasure

Should be way higher, as I first listened to Savatage I couldn't believed what a good guitarist they had so I wanted to look at which spot he is and I lost my faith to humanity when I see him on 138 I strongly believe he should je at least 20,preferbly 1 but sadly Savatage is pretty underrated.

131 Jari Mäenpää Jari Mäenpää

By far one of the most skilled metal players. Songwriting and instrument playing is the most stunning thing you will hear from this guy. Definitely surpassed his heroes without a doubt. Rock on Jari!

Should be in the top ten, just listen to wintersun

Mastermind! Just listen Wintersun

132 Mike Davis

Mike Davis is a freaking virtually unknown legend. You have guys like Kirk Hammet going, "ooh, listen to my wah! Aren't I so great? " when you have guys like Mike Davis that whoops the crap outta him but isn't even considered a legend simply becuase he's a death metal guitarist. FOR SHAME!

Mike Davis never got the exposure or respect he deserved, just listen to 'The Key' or even 'Thresholds' for example for sick/creative and unpredictable shredding skills

133 Skwisgaar

should definitely be in or at least near the to 10

135 Ihsahn Ihsahn

Some of the all time best riffs ever were written by this man! Plus, the 8-string work on his newest album are fantastic! - sorteal

This list is awful. Do Avenged Sevenfold fans listen to anything other than Avenged Sevenfold?

137 Nuno Bettencourt Nuno Bettencourt
138 Andreas Kisser

Amazing solos and style till chaos A. D

Couldn't agree more. He was remiscent of Hammet at his best.

The best

139 Michael Denner

Played with king diamond and merciful fate, had astonishing lead guitar skills combined with Andy Laroque's. He totally deserves to be much higher. But of course, this list goes by "popularity" not skill.
