Top 10 Best Metalcore Bands

The Contenders: Page 2

21 Hatebreed Hatebreed Hatebreed is an American metalcore band from Connecticut, formed in 1994. They have released 7 studio albums to date, most recently The Concrete Confessional on May 13, 2016. Their musical style blends influences from hardcore punk and heavy metal; a prominent band within the hardcore scene, they have more.

Hatebreed is the more hardcore punk side of metalcore and it's done so well. It has to be said that if you like one album by these guys you will like every other album they release and not in a bad way. The only thing really against Hatebreed is the lyrics I'm not a huge fan of bands like Suicidal Tendencies for the fact that the lyrics are all super tough guy lyrics. Though Hatebreed has more to their lyrics than look at how tough I am. They still have those moments.

Metalcore started with At The Gates, NOT hatebreed imbecile

No At the gates was melodic death metal and hade nothing to do whit metalcore. Not sure if metalcore started whit hatebreed but it was NOT At the gates.

I'll vote for them because I'm a fan but their hardcore throughout, Most of these other bands aren't metalcore there new metal bands, a real metalcore band is Carnefex for example.

23 Beartooth Beartooth Beartooth is an American metalcore band formed by Caleb Shomo in Columbus, Ohio in 2012. They are signed to Red Bull Records since 2013 along with Shomo's electronic act Class.

Any band with caleb shomo is an amazing and truthfully metalcore band unlike many of the bands here

Beartooth is amazing I like the songs

Best band ever NO contest at all

Damn fine band, one of the best I've ever seen live

24 The Dillinger Escape Plan The Dillinger Escape Plan The Dillinger Escape Plan is an American mathcore band from Morris Plains, New Jersey. The group originated in 1997 after the disbanding of Arcane, a hardcore punk trio consisting of Ben Weinman, Dimitri Minakakis, and Chris Pennie.

If you saw this band live you would know exactly why they deserve to be in the top 10.

They have more skill than any band on this list. Also, Greg is probably the best vocalist in the whole scene

The BEST live band around. Not the best band, though. But definitely worth every penny to see them live.

These guys are not metalcore. Most talented band on this list.

25 The Agony Scene
26 The Amity Affliction

These guys have only just begun to break the metalcore scene! They're awesome and they're finally getting recognition and getting headlining acts here in the states! It's awesome to see bands who you've followed since they started out finally getting to go on to bigger and better opportunities!

Hands down the best metalcore band on this list. Not only are their songs packed full of hard driving riffs and catchy melodies, but unlike the other metalcore bands on here their lyrics actually mean something. Ahren's clean vocals are incredible and are so dynamic, whereas Joel's screaming is so emotional it leaves you speechless. Can't wait for them to get the recognition as a band that they deserve! AMITY!

There is no lack of hardcore and metalcore talent coming out of Australia in the past decade. Greats like Amity, Parkway and Buried in Verona cannot be overlooked as they have defined metal talent in the Land Down Under.

This band is hectic

27 For Today For Today For Today is an American Christian metalcore band from Sioux City, Iowa, formed in 2005. They are currently signed to Nuclear Blast Records.

Definitely my all time favorite band! Mattie's vocals are always clean cut and easy to understand and the power behind the lyrical content always leaves me breathless as I mosh and scream myself!

Worth a much better spot than this! True metalcore

Amazingly heavy. Sounds similar to parkway drive!

I really appreciate this band.. But when you talk a lot about Jesus it will get boring sometimes... you have to balance guys... balance!

28 Suicide Silence Suicide Silence Suicide Silence is an American deathcore band from Riverside, California. Formed in 2002, the band has released four full-length studio albums, one EP and eleven music videos.

Suicide Silence is death core, not metalcore

Amazing band, the most memorable in my opinion R.I.P. mitch Lucker

Suicide Silence is AMAZING they should be in the top ten!

But Suicide Silence is deathcore

29 Shadows Fall Shadows Fall Shadows Fall is an American heavy metal band from Springfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. Although the band has experienced several line-up changes, for most of its recording career, Shadows Fall has been composed of Jonathan Donais, Matt Bachand, Paul Romanko, Brian Fair, and Jason Bittner.

Wow this band is criminally underrated, shadows fall, killswitch engage and lamb of God were the 3 bands that popularized the "core" sound we know today (I know lamb of God is more groove metal but a lot of elements in their music reflects metalcore so they are an influence on the genre. Also, shadows fall started doing solos again since they started (the 90's and 00's were a dark time for metal since not many bands played solos and we had all this nu metal and nothing else. Shadows fall was a band that ignored that trend and paved the way for a lot of metalcore bands to follow. They are a top 3 in book.

Awesome heavy, melodic riffing and, Mind Blowing Guitar solos that put most other metalcore bands to shame. They are the perfect blend of Swedish Death Metal and American Hardcore, one of the few metalcore bands that I truly love.

For me the best this band, amazing guitar notes

Shadows fall have to be at lease top 15

31 Woe, Is Me

Yes, 'Numbers - Deluxe' is a high-quality release. Very unique, and the 'Keisha' cover smashes it out of the park. Brutal, with finesse.

32 Pierce the Veil Pierce the Veil Pierce the Veil is an American post-hardcore band from San Diego, California. Formed in 2006, the band was founded by brothers Vic and Mike Fuentes after the disbandment of the group Before Today, which was formed out of the San Diego punk rock scene.

Not even slightly metalcore. Can't stand them either.

I live PTV, but they shouldn't be on this list; they're more post-hardcore.

They're not metalcore at all.

This band is Post-hardcore, it shouldn't be here, I like them though

33 Bury Tomorrow

These guys have bought british metalcore to a whole new level, with their own unique sound. I love these guys they are amazing every band member adds something to the band truly amazing! Union crowns best metalcore album of 2012 no doubt about it.

Amazing band, with perfect cleans and screams that work well with each other and with the instrumentals. One of the best Melodic Metalcore bands out there. Songs are amazingly written and performed, you won't be disappointed.

If you haven't heard these guys, you need to start with "Portraits" and work your way up, but you may never want to leave that album, by far my favorite.
I came on this list to see what bands compare to these guys and to be perfectly honest, I gave your bands a listen and I'm sorry but they don't hold a candle to the combo of Daniel and Jason. Daniel rips apart everyone and the cleans by Jason perfectly melds the song together.

Not my favourite metal band, but for metalcore no one else is on their level.

34 Atreyu

Atreyu is now underneath Pierce the Veil. What is wrong with you people? Listen to Lip Gloss and Black. Listen to Right Side of the Bed. Listen to Ex's and Oh's. Listen to Any song from the first three albums... They all destroy pretty much any song any band on this last past the Top 10 have ever done.

Awesome lyrics and vocals I mean the growls ar given by lead vocalist Alex and the clean vocals ar given by the drummer! Awesome

They only need 3-minutes for their song to make me say "Cool"! They maybe don't have the best drummer, or best guitarist, but their songs are awesome!

What could be more badass than the perfect blend of screaming and singing. With a variety of different sounds between albums.

35 Miss May I Miss May I Miss May I is an American metalcore band from Troy, Ohio. Formed in 2007, they signed to Rise Records in 2008 and released their debut album, Apologies Are for the Weak through the label while the members were still attending high school.

Miss May I on 26? Have you guys Listened to this band? Listen to architect, Tides, Hey Mister, Not our tomorrow... Then you'll Realize...

Those are some incredible songs man, I thought the exact same thing.

They play great live and all their songs are great! Listen to them!

I think "Miss May I" has a different musical genres, and most specials songs hard to follow, because I think the rhythm of the music is very unique compared to other bands

Such a brutal band. They deserve AT LEAST top 15 if not top 10. All the break downs are dope and original.

36 Disturbed Disturbed Disturbed is an American heavy metal band from Chicago, Illinois . The band comprises vocalist David Draiman, bassist John Moyer, guitarist Dan Donegan, and drummer Mike Wengren . They are known for songs like "Down With the Sickness" and "Stricken" .

Lol! Disturbed doesn't have any metalcore genre on their songs!

This band is metal not metalcore, I don't mean to be one of the technical dickheads but it's true, only metalcore and sub-genres of metalcore should be here

37 The Word Alive

Every album is different than their last, always coming up with new ideas. Great band, great music.

Underrated band. Should be in the top 10!

Luke is good. Singer sounds like cry baby when singing. Avoid.

Amazing band. Dark matter is insane.

38 Converge

Its simple really, none of the other bands would exist without them - that1guysfrend

I think Converge are the greatest because they are true to the term Metalcore unlike many other bands because they combined elemnts of Thrash and Hardcore.

The album Jane Doe and a fantastic mixture of metal and hardcore and is one of the heaviest things I've ever heard

I had to go all the way to 40 to see a non-poseur band? Have you people not seen all your favorite bands wearing these dudes' shirts in band photos? It's cause they all know Converge are better than their sorry asses.

Why isn't Converge #1? They basically invented metalcore, and they've been active since the mid 90s! And they just got even better with each album, in my opinion. Unlike a lot of "innovator" bands, Converge not only laid the groundwork for this style, but as every other metalcore band just rips each other off, Converge is always going the extra mile and on the cutting edge. From Jacob Bannon's dynamic vocal style, to Kurt Ballou's amazing production and guitar work, to Ben Koller's completely insane drumming, this band is just a total package that no other metalcore will ever step up to.

As a sidenote, u should watch Ben Koller's "KollerCam" series, he basically puts on a GoPro when he played at a live show, and u could see how he tackles the kit. He's a madman.

39 The Ghost Inside

Honestly, seeing these guys live a few times I don't thin they are number one material. But I don't think they should be where they are at. With solid breakdowns, lyrics that aren't pointless, this band should be at least top 25 for sure. They are just amazing and their stage presence when seeing them live makes them that much greater.

Seriously the most well rounded solid band that is around at this exact moment. True, solid, technical, hard hitting band... Get with it people

It seems they are just on the edge of the breakthrough of their careers. Just first seeing them live and then going back to listening to their music. Very powerful stuff to listen to and have some of the best beats and breakdowns I have heard.

I got mixed feelings about their older records, but "Get What You Give" is really really awesome! - Flav

40 Every Time I Die Every Time I Die Every Time I Die is an American metalcore band from Buffalo, New York, formed in 1998. They have garnered acclaim for their energetic and intense live shows.

I can't believe this band is so far down the list. probably because most don't consider them metalcore. but from who I see on this list the were the very early on one of the greatest.
