61 August Burns Red August Burns Red August Burns Red is an American metalcore band from Manheim, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2003, the group began their first performances while a majority of the members were attending their senior year of high school, and soon began playing shows around Lancaster, before being signed to CI Records. Afterwards, more.

29? Are you kidding me? All of the top 28 sound the same with few exceptions. This band, along with BTBAM and Dream Theater ARE modern metal/metalcore. I challenge you to A. Find one song that sounds at least somewhat similar to another within one of these bands, and B. Find one song that sounds similar out of all these artists combined. There aren't any. They are creativity at it's finest and have shaped metal and metalcore to what it is today. Each of these bands should be in the top 10 at least, and in my opinion top 5. Every single song they have ever put together are masterpieces in themselves, and the complete albums are heavenly gifts. If you haven't listened to either of these bands, you haven't listened to metal/core at all.

August Burns Red is so underrated. They should be higher up. And why are bands like Three Days Grace on here! I love them but they are definitely NOT metal.

So under rated what the hell people they should at least be like number 3

62 In Flames In Flames In Flames is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden, formed in 1990. more.

By far the best metal band in this list.

Yes I know "they deserve a betta pwace on dis list, what sorcery is wis? 1? 1! ". Again, this is my opinion. I love their music, but it's screamo. It's very difficult to impossible to understand the first time, and difficult to relate to. They also seem to focus a lot on 2 things: fast solos, and even faster chorus.

GreatesT Band On Earth In FLAMES WE TRUST

63 Steelwing

Like a modern classic Judas Priest.

64 Deftones Deftones Deftones are an American alternative metal band from Sacramento, California. The band, which was founded in 1988, consists of Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Frank Delgado, Abe Cunningham and Sergio Vega.

Yes deftones are the best band on earth. The only band on this list that combines the heaviness with beautiful textures and sounds. And perfects it to make such an awesome band

Most of the bands on this list aren't very good (Avenged Sevenfold is number one and they aren't very good). This band is really good and should be ranked higher. - Imreallyboredrightnow

This band is too drunk to be in this list - Th3Zm0nst3r

65 Epica Epica Epica is a Dutch symphonic metal band, founded by guitarist and vocalist Mark Jansen after his departure from After Forever.

Epica is #47? I'm losing faith in humanity...

66 Sign of the Jackal

Best Italian band ever!

67 Steel Horse
68 Behemoth Behemoth Behemoth is a Polish blackened death metal band from Gdańsk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground.

Behemoth is just amazing. Insane vocals and powerful music. Brutal

An exceptional extreme band. Their last album, The Satanist, is one of the best albums I've ever heard. Truly dark, heavy and inspirational.

69 A Day to Remember A Day to Remember A Day to Remember (often abbreviated ADTR) is an American rock band from Ocala, Florida, founded in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs. They are known for their unusual amalgamation of metalcore and pop punk. The band currently consists of vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, rhythm guitarist more.

A shot in the dark by a day to remember is one of the best songs I've ever heard and heavier then just about any song by any other band on here I'm suprised at the amount of great metal bands like parkway drive, a day to remember, in flames and of mice and men are not even in the top ten. It just shows you that metals not all different then pop everyone bandwagons on the popular bands like slipknot to relate with their friends instead of doing some research and actually finding metal bands that sound good.

70 Trapt Trapt Trapt is an American rock band that formed in Los Gatos, California in 1995, best known for their 2002 single "Headstrong".

Trapt is a hard rock or alternative metal band. If I say their band name, you probably won't know them. But if I play "Still Frame" or "Headstrong" you'll be like " I blared that all day". Well these guys did that. These guys are the elite of metal. They have released 5 studio albums.

Not metal, but they're okay and definitely better than garbage like Escape the Fate, Asking Alexandria, or any scene garbage

Such great melodies and rhythms mixed up with a great voice

71 Fear Factory Fear Factory Fear Factory is an American heavy metal band that was formed in 1989. During the band's career, it has released nine full-length albums and has evolved through a succession of styles, including industrial metal, death metal, groove metal, and thrash metal.

These guys are legendary! Forefathers and ground-breakers of modern metal as we know it today. Too bad people don't give them their rightful credit...

Come on now people... How are these guys not on the list?

75 Bring Me the Horizon Bring Me the Horizon Bring Me the Horizon is a British rock band from Sheffield, Yorkshire. Formed in 2004, the group currently consists of vocalist Oliver Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls, and keyboardist Jordan Fish. They are signed to RCA Records globally and Columbia Records exclusively more.

A somewhat hidden gem of metal, this metalcore band hit a home run in their albums 'There is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep it a Secret' and 'Sempiternal' with powerful lyrics, emotional vocals, and fantastic, contrasting intrumentals. In 'There is a Hell...' you have the high octane vocals and shredding guitar mixed with a full Choir and Classical Music qualities like Violin. In 'Sempiternal' you have amazing timing and the integration of synthesizers and the contrast of soft and intense vocals.

Riffs and melodic structures are utterly remarkable. Love em

Was my favorite band for 3 years, 21 - 24

Sully Erna is a truly underrated vocalist. Shannon Hoon is a great drummer. The strings section of this band is fantastic. It would be great if they were ranked higher

Godsmack is amazing. Straight out of line is an intense song that has amazing musicianship between all members of the band!

Are you kidding me? Awful name, bad lyrics, generic riffs, and the NIN cover was horrible. Get this off of here.

One of my favorite bands! This should be way at the top not 73...

They should be like #5 they have grown so much gaining so many fans they are a true metal band

All the bands at TOP 10 are great, I agree... But AA shouldn’t be at 77 :-/ I know they are pretty weak and kinda emo but still...77?

78 Skeletonwitch Skeletonwitch Skeletonwitch is an American blackened thrash metal band from Athens, Ohio, formed in 2003. The band currently consists of drummer Dustin Boltjes, bassist Evan Linger, and guitarists Nate Garnette and Scott Hedrick and vocalist Adam Clemans.

Skeletonwitch has been around for few years and their songs have been short... but epic! They really have talent and I think they deserve to be on this list. - Pzycho5
