Best Movies of 2005

The Top Ten

1 Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Best star wars movie in my opinion it should tied with empire strikes back the duel is cool story very good much improvement of hayden and other character very underrated - Thirdwind

The most bestest(yes its a word) the most amazingnestest(dont even ask) totaly awesomenestes(... ) movie of the star wars triolgy - theTwister

The most exciting movie of this year. The best lightsaber fight we've all been waiting for. The final chapter of the prequels, and the most emotional and darkest Star Wars movie ever. This film is full of action at every second that it was too impossible for one to say it's boring. This movie has the most action, lightsaber duels, and scenes you don't want to miss in a blink of an eye. Obi-Wan was such a cool character, fighting Anakin and killing the kickass villian Grievous. This movie has an unhappy ending, but wraps up to the original trilogy. Gotta be the best film of the year

The Best Movie Of The Star Wars Prequels. - masoncarr2244

2 Batman Begins

By far the coolest, most original, and creative movie of 2005. It has superb drama, driving scenes, special effects, story, and dialog. - juriah

This is the best movie between 2000 and 2005 for me, and believe or not but this is actually the worse movie of the saga, so, imagine the other ones :D

I agree, batman is the best superhero, and the sequels of this movie are better, Nolan is the best director, and bale is the best batman

Batman begins not hit in box office but this is really a biggest blockbuster

The Contenders

11 Constantine
12 Walk the Line

Um, I believe this movie should be in the WORST movies of 2005 instead of the best.

No, screw this movie. - FondaSu

14 Serenity

oh so good keeps you on the edge of your seat!

15 The Legend of Zorro
16 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

This should be at least #5 - robertoiglesias271

17 Zodiac
18 Brokeback Mountain

Heath Ledger gives the performance of a lifetime. This film is one of the best but avoided by many people. It is very misunderstood.

Again, why the hell to many blockbusters in the top 10? Come on people this movie needs to been on the top 5 at least

I love them but they're SO overrated.

24 Fantastic Four
25 Saw II

29 Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
30 Good Night, and Good Luck
31 Kingdom of Heaven

I have not seen the theatrical version, but the director's cut was a great movie filled with some great performances. It may not be a history lesson, but it certainly deserves to be higher. - Mann0802

32 A History of Violence
33 Crash

A great philosophical movie about missunderstandings, racism, people connections and humanity itself, The best of the year - MatrixGuy

Live your life to the point of impact... Great acting from Ludacris, good singer and good actor at the same time. - roblist

34 Fun with Dick and Jane
35 Transporter 2
36 Capote
37 Are We There Yet?
38 The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl
39 Jarhead
40 Howl's Moving Castle
41 Match Point
42 The Constant Gardener
43 Metal: A Headbanger's Journey
44 Munich
45 Caché
46 Oliver Twist

Don't go in expecting a song and dance extravaganza (thanks a lot Lionel Bart! ), Roman Polanski stayed true to the original novel, which is certainally more than what I can say for some of the other book adaptations ahead of this under the radar movie. You could actually feel the coldness from the workhouse and the narrow London streets.

Of all the adaptations of Oliver Twist this was one of the more faithful ones. Look out for Ben Kingsley as Fagin. Barney Clark has shades of a young Asa Butterfield too.

47 The World's Fastest Indian
48 Son of the Mask

I can't believe my best friend and my brother likes this movie and I don't.

49 Yours, Mine and Ours
50 Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous
