Atmospheric, enchanting, inspiring in a darker sense than most can imagine until watching this movie, brutal and manly as hell (literally), and while some find it to be confusing and at times boring, the ending twist is more than enough to make almost everyone I known go "Wait what happened? We should watch this again sometime"
I watched it many times, and you can bet I will watch it many more times, having a bad day? Watch this movie, it wont brighten it up, just make you feel really bad ass for enduring such a day, making you feel like the scum of the earth thanks to this movie that sensation alone is one of the best things I ever experienced, and a good reason to watch this movie any day of the week.
Note: My parents found it boring, but they aren't very bright nor interested in the many different aspects of the mind, so if you like many others do not enjoy the beginning, keep watching it will all make sense in the end, and if it does not learning a bit about the mind ...more
This is a bit overrated, but I still liked it. Brad Pitt was in it, and I think that he was the only reason that this movie was overrated. Anyways, this male aggression thing that spins the town into a spiral of destruction towards oblivion is quite bad***. I think that since the movie was called Fight Club, there should have been more fight scenes, but I guess for an average teenager/adult at the time, that was enough. I didn't think there was too much drama, for a movie in that genre. I think that it deserves it's 7.8/10 average. I think that there was a bit of an over-hype at the time, though. Even though hype back in 1999 (not very long ago) was a bit rare, it was too much for this average, sit-on-the-couch, "drama" movie. I still loved it though.
Great ending, great cast, great acting, great story, and a great script, this movie is awesome. It starts off slow, but don't be fooled. It starts to progress and really pulls you in. Tyler Durden is truly a brilliant character that is really brought to life by Brad Pitt. Edward Norton is a real gem, too, as he faces the unfortunate mess his life is turning into. It is full of great quotes and really makes you think. To stick Fight Club in any other spot on this list would be a mistake.
I can't remember why I actually watched that movie. But it was really awesome. I didn't like Brad Pitt before that one, but now I simply love him! I got me thinking about my life, my plans and all this pathetic stuff all people are doing.
And all those small hidden extras, pretty cool. Would surely recommend that one, although you might have to be into that kind of stuff and a little bit open-minded. Then this will blow you away!
Better than Titanic, Forrest Gump, The Dark knight, just my opinion, don't give my comment thousands dislike

Really one of the greatest film by far. I didn't like Pitt much before, but after watching this movie, I got mad about him laugh out loud. ! Plus the Physical appearance of Pitt, his dressing and style, I really admire. ! Then comes the twist, the twist in the plot was just amazing, mind=blown. !
Went to the movies to see this. Oddly enough an ex girlfriend drug me to it. Was expecting another pretty boy fighting movie. Turned out to be a bone crushing, meat grinding movie, with an incredibly fresh, intelligent storyline. Incredible movie!
This film... I didn't know anything about when I watched it. It say a surprise. From the beginning to the end. This film catches you. Until the really last minutes you will not know what is going to happen.
I think the only reason that it is not the top 3, is because of the age rating.
Best movie of all time, great performances by Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter, Great novel, David Fincher at his best and The message of the movie is just truly amazing.
I remember my dad showing this to me as a kid when it came out, didn't think anything of it. I watched it again the other night and now I realise the sheer quality of it! Great cast, great storyline, great soundtrack, great twist, what's not to like. Undoubtedly one of the best films of all time.
Considering the fact that Fight Club isn't #1 next to the Departed, I think almost everyone who voted on this list is mentally retarded
Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.
Literally the best movie of all time, seen it about 48 times and it never gets old. There's new details in the film every single time I've watched it and it never ceases to amaze me as a masterpiece of a film. MUST WATCH!
Fight Club should be number one, it is the best movie of all time! I LOVE Edward Norton and Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter! - ButTheNunsAreWatching
Jack (Edward norton) represents us all but he had the courage to let out his anger. In the movie he found his way out so he made fight club for the people who still didn't find theirs. Best movie ever. Plus the acting was brilliant. - SuperA
Finally found a film that I completely relate to. My favourite film and book and as a result I have a quote (which appears in both) tattooed on my back.
And the fact I have a minor obsession with Helena Bonham Carter is a bonus.
This is the greatest film I've ever watched. The content or the message of the film makes you wonder and re evaluate your life. It became so compelling because of the wonderful performances, twists, writing, directing, etc.
Fight Club really struck a nerve with people. It's about more than just split personalities and fighting. It's about going beyond the menial 9 to 5 go to work, come home, always follow the rules routine. - marmalade_skies
This film is defiantly the best movie of all time. Brad Pitt does a smashing job. And the story is just spot on. I love the whole feel and undertone of the movie. This is truly a forgotten about cinematic masterpiece.
I can honestly call the this the most interesting film I have ever come across. It is beyond great film work and by far David Fincher's greatest masterpiece. I fall in love with it more every time I see it.
Everything is totally great in that movie. Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter are all ripping the screen with talent. The beauty of the scenes is marvelous. - ohright
I can see this masterpiece anytime. After watching the movie you start to think differently, almost instantly. Game changer.
Ugh there's so much to say about this movie. Almost too much. Just the style and everything resonates with me and my filmmaking so well, and the characters are just perfect
I guuess the people who have voted for top 9 movies haven't seen david fincher's FIGHT CLUB. this one is unbeatable. It will give you a big dose of memories. A true cult. - suuhasnayak
