This new kid came to school. She was different. The way she dressed, talk, looked, everything! My friends and I started hanging out with her. She obviously had a different taste in music. She would sing parts of songs now and then, non I ever heard of, and with very weird lyrics. We started asking "What song's that? " and then we would listen to it and we actually started to like it! She changed us all. She introduced us to this whole new different world. This particularly is one of my favorite songs.
This song and I Never Told You What I Do For A Living (but its not on the list) have to be the best songs because they are more raw than black parade. I would say too many people dismiss the album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge and I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love because they are before Black Parade but in my opinion they are better albums, so go check them out.
With me being a teen and all my mom thinks is awesome how I remember her playing this song in the car when I was little. When I was around 4-6 my mom would always play this in the car! So when I got older I remembered that and asked the name of the song. This was the first song I ever herd of by My Chemical Romance. Got me hooked in them!
This song has this really awesome beat, and the chorus... Oh my God. It just completely slows down, and goes heavier, and Gerard's voice feels like it might break, but he holds on... The song just tugs at your heart strings, and makes you really think about the lyrics. Even the instruments mourn about death... Definitely one of their best songs.
I remembered this when I was in middle school and I feel in love with it! The video was so great and me and my brother and sister would talk about how this song was so awesome, it tells us that we should let go of our love ones even if it is hard to do it. This song is telling us to be strong no matter what, and this song holds a very special place in my heart.
"What's the worst thing I could say?
Things were better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight
This was the song which helped me with many problems I had in my life.. It's just my favourite My Chemical Romance song by far.. I mean I like every song and every video of them but.. Helena was the first song I had ever heard of them and If I would not listen to this, I would not be a MCRmy now..
I could feel the emotion in this song ever since the first time I heard it. The emotion really hits me hard and you can tell that the song had to do with a personal experience (Gerard's and Mikey's grandmother dying). Also, the message given in this song is very meaningful.
Of all My Chemical Romance songs, "Helena" has THE BEST lyrics. I think that although "Welcome to the Black Parade" may haver a catchier tune, this track is the definition of My Chemical Romance - it's very emotional (especially for lead singer Gerard Way). - ThatStrangeKid42
This song is the most amazing song by the most amazing band. Don't get me wrong, I love Welcome to the Black Parade but this song is so powerful and emotional and beautiful and it sums the whole band up. If it were up to me, this would definitely be No. 1. :-)
This is a sad song with the meaning behind it but in my opinion is one of their best songs. Gerard way must of loved his grandmother so much, another reason this is so sad is because of the music video with the funeral
Easily one of their best if not the very best. It doesn't matter that it was a single. It is simply a solid song. I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard it. This song means a lot to me and contributed to my musical taste majorly.
This is the best song, it's my favorite song when I was in high school and will still be my favorite song til I die, This song reminded me when I was about to do suicide and the song saved my life, This will always be my favorite... ever
There is no limit to how many times I can listen to this song. I just love the transition from soft and whispering to screaming and yelling. It is just perfect. Every time I listen to this song, it feels like paradise.
I like this song, because its really cool. And I think, this is one of the best songs of my chemical romance. And I can sympathize feels like Gerard Way, because my grandmother died when I was 12 jears old.
One of the first songs I've ever heard from them and I was very young as well making it more special. This song brings up memories and knowing the back story of this song makes it a beautiful tragedy - LaSonicLover
That's pretty cool :) and I remember when I saw house of wax and this song was playing during the end credits... This was two and a half years ago I think and since then I listen to this beautiful band.
There's something really raw and beautiful about this song, especially paired with the music video. I think the band really gets the emotions across well in this one.
Gerard even said that he literally cannot perform this song live because its too hard on him emotionally, if a song can impact an artist that much, you know something perfect just happened.
This song got me hooked to the band, it was the first I ever listened to by them I still listen to it years later. It also means a lot to the band, specifically, Gerard and Mikey Way.
I have known this song since I was eight and it has never failed to touch my heart. I am fourteen now and understand the deeper meaning, and my mother has passed so I just love it.
This song was the very first song that I ever heard by My Chemical Romance. The song is very personal to Gerard and Mikey and is awesome! The music video is also very well done!
This song is so awesome you can feel gerard's real emotions as he powers through the chorus. It's a song that makes me both have the feels and be happy to hear it at the same time
So touching... Especially since Gerard wrote this song after his grandmother passed. I love this song so much It will always be in my top 3 favorites by My Chemical Romance!
I cannot begin to describe how much I love this song! This is the best song ever and the best representation for the best band ever. My Chemical Romance will never die.
This song I can just go to when I'm sad to find a place that relates with me. First song I heard from them, it just great,
