Best NHL Players From 2000 - 2010

The Top Ten
1 Nicklas Lidstrom

Best of decade, although Crosby and Ovechkin have had good years but have only been around for a few. He is probably best of last 2 decades.

2 Jerome Iginla
3 Martin Brodeur

Sidney Crosby has no business being on this list, nevermind number 4. He's only been in the league for 6 years. Everyone below him has done more with their time in the league. And he's always injured.

4 Sidney Crosby Sidney Patrick Crosby ONS (born August 7, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who currently serves as captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

This is for 2000-10, Crosby didn't even enter the league until 2005, hard to put him number one for that reason, Brodeur, Lidstrom, Thornton, Niedermayer and Iginla were great for the whole decade.

The best. He really deserves to be number one. VOTE! L

5 Alex Ovechkin
6 Joe Thornton
7 Joe Sakic Joseph Steven Sakic (born July 7, 1969) is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player. He played his entire 21-year National Hockey League (NHL) career with the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche franchise.
8 Daniel Alfredsson
9 Jaromir Jagr
10 Patrick Kane Patrick Timothy Kane II (born November 19, 1988) is an American professional ice hockey right winger for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The Contenders
11 Sergei Gonchar
12 Scott Neidermayer

Niedermayer was every bit as good as Lidstrom... anyone realize he won as many cups as him, with a lesser team? Maybe not in Anaheim but certainly in New Jersey.

13 Jonathan Toews
14 Chris Pronger
15 Eric Staal
16 Teemu Selänne
17 Rick Nash
