"The Dark Side Of The Moon" Album Review

Alpha101 Hailed as one of the best albums of all time, "The Dark Side of the Moon" is one impressive album. It revolutionized the wsy we view music, and was one of the most diverse albums on the market,

"Speak to Me" really set the vibe for the album perfectly.

"Breathe" has an outstanding rhythm to it. It's very laid back, and has superb lyrics. It's kind of similar to "Comfortably Numb." The drumming on this song is also perfect, while easy.

"On The Run" is my least favorite. Sure, it does really fit in with the other songs, but, by itself, it's not legendary.

"Time" is the best on the album, with it's fantastic opening with the ringing of clocks, the reggae feel to it, it's inspirational lyrics, and the numbing guitar solo.

"Great Gig In The Sky" is another unbelievable track. The vocalist does a fantastic job, and is one of the best of the band.

"Money," while it is one of the most overrated songs by the band, is still a pretty good track. In the beginning, there is the clatter of change, and the opening riff is one of my favorites, not to mention Water's bluesy and mind-numbing vocals.

"Us And Them" is brilliant. The message always hits me hard, the chorus can bring me to tears, and it's just a beautiful song. It truly needs to be experienced by everyone.

"Any Colour You Like" has a great opening, and will send shivers down your spine. Not one of their best, but it's still worth a mention.

"Brain Damage" sounds very uneasy, and has one hell of a chorus! I am absolutely in love with the song, and forever will be.

"Eclipse" closes the album out in a bang, and always makes me want to listen to the whole thing over again. It's another relaxing but impressive track, and it's among the band's greatest works.

Overall, I can definitely see why people claim this to be the greatest album of all time. It was, and still is, one of the most influential albums in rock music. It's very diverse, thought provoking, relaxing, and beautiful. While it is not as impressive as legendary albums such as "Rubber Soul," or "Jar or Flies," it's still in my top 5 albums of all time.

9.8/10 - Great Album
