What's post-punk about Good Charlotte? Read the titles!
Never understood how 'Marliese', 'Berlin' and the title-track weren't hit-singles in the Uk. The album reached No.6 in the German charts and 'Marliese' was a Top 40-hit. Sure, some of the lyrics (Cold War) are a bit out-dated, but in other parts tragically still relevant now. And the music has certainly stood the test of time. Great vocals.
Post-Punk of the highest quality from Germany.
Nina's amazing experimental solo-debut, after splitting from the Nina Hagen Band (who became the Spliff Radio Show, then just Spliff). One of those 'must hear b4 u die-albums, regardless if one will like it or not.
Nomi was one of the first celebrities to die of AIDS (aged 39) and would have had most likely a great career to come. With his unique voice, a countertenor, with a wide vocal range and a style, well ahead of his time, plus collaborating with stars like Bowie and Iggy Pop, just to name two, he was destined to superstardom, but sadly remains, even now, criminally overlooked, almost forgotten. This debut-album, not always perfect, though, but shows his massive potential, especially on his covers of 'The Twist', 'Lightning strikes' and 'You don't own me'.
Emerged back the ('78/'79) with their very unique style, releasing one amazing debut-album that still sounds amazing now. Tracks, like 'Planet Claire', 'Rock Lobster' and my personal favourite 'Dance this mess around' are timeless party anthems. Funny, intelligent, energetic pop with an anarchic, punky attitude.
