41 Ian Gillan Ian Gillan Ian Gillan is an English singer and songwriter. He originally found success as the lead singer and lyricist for Deep Purple, and the original singer on the rock opera concept album Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber, where Gillan had the leading role (Jesus Christ).

Just listen to him sing Child in Time off the Made in Japan album, or Highway Star off of the same Made in Japan album. Incredible. Or, When a blind man cries. The best rock singer of all time

YAn Gillan has an amazing vocal range and very nice tembre of voice. His manner of singing varies a lot and is often very soulful. Remember Jesus Christ Superstar. He is no doubt the best rock vocalist of all times

He is the original screamer. - gemcloben

This guy had the best voice in rock in the late 60'sand 70's. Just listen to him sing a song like child in time and you will be in awe at how amazing he sounds and how ridicilously high he can go. This man has a crasy vocal range, even better then Plant and Mercury.

42 Sammy Hagar Sammy Hagar Samuel Roy "Sammy" Hagar, also known as The Red Rocker, is an American rock vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, musician and entrepreneur.

The biggest under dog in rock music. Should be within the top 50 for sure. It's the Red Rocker! Awesome music from 1970's to current. How many people have that?

Still consistent after all these years. Go back and listen to him with Montrose and compare it to now. Still powerful.

Better than DLR when it comes to Van Halen, and his solo stuff is kick-ass too!

43 Brian Johnson Brian Johnson Brian Johnson is an English singer and songwriter. Since 1980, he is the lead singer of the Australian rock band AC/DC, with whom he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. As of April 2016, Johnson is not participating in the remainder of the Rock or Bust World Tour due to hearing more.

No Competition best singer by far, who are the people voting for this award its for a rock singer not a ballad or other genre, Back in Black is the second best selling album of all time for two reasons, one best lead guitarist in the world and two best rock singer in the world!

Amazing vocals. So sad about his hearing issues! Get well soon Brian!

44 Dave Grohl Dave Grohl David Eric "Dave" Grohl is an American rock musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the drummer for the grunge band Nirvana and the vocalist/guitarist for the alternative rock band Foo Fighters.

Grohl, in my opinion, is possibly one of the best rock singers ever, and deserves to be in the top 10. 38 is way too low for Dave- he's a ' legend, his voice is strong and rough but can be quiet and peaceful and the same time. Foo Fighter's songs are so easy to relate to, and they can make someone feel so many emotions. It's a complete shock this guy isn't in at least the top tens.

Should be in top 10! He's amazing. He has one of the best voices in rock today. Very under rated on this list. Listen to from Skin and Bones to White Limo. What a range!

Wow, I can't believe this is so far down here. His high shrills, screams, to his smooth jazzy acoustic voice is amazing. Come on!

If Nirvana was lead by him and not Cobain, the band would probably be one of my favorites.

45 Bob Dylan Bob Dylan Bob Dylan is an American singer-songwriter, artist and writer . he won the Nobel Prize for literature in 2016 .

Are you kidding me now? Jared Leto made it to the top 3? And Bob Dylan, possibly the most influential figure in rock music all time, sits at 39? This list better be a joke.

Better songwriter than singer - gemcloben

Bob dylan's true talent is as a songwriter, but his words never really come alive until he sings them - RecklessGreed

Damn he is so cool! Why so behind?

One of the best should be at least in the top Ten

Highly skilled singer... AWESOME!

47 Yvonne Muentener

This rockstar is totally different to all the others. Her voice makes us believe in wonders.

The coolest female rock voice ever. I thought good rock voices is a men thing. She completely changed my opinion. I love the way she's overwhelming and funny in the same go. Also her range is exciting. The style of her band Sugamice is stunning different to all the rest in the market. I believe it's impossible to find someone trying to present her songs in a caraoke show. I'd love to see that!

She's really fascinating! I love her so much!

Sugamice! Sugamice! Sugamice! The cutest mouse with the greatest voice!

REALLY? 47? His voice could bring me back from the dead! He just created a lifetime of amazing rock music AND THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT HIM SOCIETY? Come on people.

Why is David Bowie so low? Listen to space oddity and starman.

Great Bowie songs:

* Heroes
* Life on Mars?
* Changes
* Rebel Rebel
* Space Oddity
* Under Pressure
* Starman
* Let's Dance
* Fame
* Ziggy Stardust
* Man who sold the World - SomewhereInLondon

53 Chad Kroeger Chad Kroeger Chad Robert Kroeger is a Canadian musician and producer, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the Canadian rock band, Nickelback.

His voice is amazing, but people just dismiss him because of his songwriting and being affiliated with Nickelback.

54 Jimi Hendrix Jimi Hendrix Jimi Hendrix (born November 27, 1942 - September 18, 1970) was an American rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter . Although his mainstream career spanned only four years, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music, and one of the most celebrated more.

Why do all the music related lists on the Top Tens suck? Jimi deserves top 15 easily. Jared Leto is lucky to be in the Top 15,000, let alone TOP 3.

His guitar skills overshadow his voice - gemcloben

55 Mike Patton Mike Patton Michael Allan "Mike" Patton is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, film composer, producer, and actor, best known as the lead singer of the alternative metal band Faith No More.

It really surprises me that nobody has put Patton on this list so far. No doubt, Freddie Mercury's an absolute genius, but Patton is more versatile that him in his crazy, experimental way. Singing - sometimes even operatic - screaming, growling, crooning, rapping; he is capable of delivering all those styles flawlessly. That guy's a sorcerer.

Mike Patton is definitely the most versatile singer ever to be in the music industry. From his calm singing voice to his insane screams and growls, the man can sing better than anybody else. I'm sorry, but anybody that has a singing range of over six octaves, can out beat anybody in a singing situation.

This guy should be in the top 5 for sure. Mike Patton is versatile and flawless when singing live.

57 Geoff Tate Geoff Tate Geoff Tate is a German-born American singer and musician who rose to fame in the 1980s with the progressive metal band Queensr├┐che.

Geoff Tate's voice, range, power is all unbelievable. For example eyes of a stranger. In the beginning of the song his notes are very low but once you get more into the song he is screaming these powerful unbelievable notes like it's his job. He deserves to be put higher.

This dude is by far the best male vocalist of all time - all 5 octaves of it. Too bad I can't say that much about Queensryche. What a waste of his talent.

58 Klaus Meine Klaus Meine

ARE YOU KIDDING ME he has the best rock voice in the world I know that Freddie Mercury gets all the credit but Klaus can sing WAY better then him he beats any body that is ahead of him I can't believe you guys are not voting for Klaus he is a legend I think he can sing even better then Elvis so you can call me crazy but his voice is just so smooth oh and ps:SCORPIONS ARE THE BEST BAND EVER

Klaus is easily one of the top ten rock singers of all time. Range and quality of his voice is amazing and he has been doing it for 40 plus years. No poll putting Klaus under 10 is to be remotely believed.

Any list that ranks Klaus Meine below 2nd or 3rd position of the best rock voice in the world is not reliable!

This guy is amazing. Top 20 at least, come on now.

He rules punk rock and all other rock genres. He should in the top list. His voice soothes me more then any other rock singer. Long live billie joe ling live Green Day.

The greatest modern frontman, he will go down as a legend and is well deserving of it. Great character and very energetic artist! One of the last great rock bands... Green Day!

He is one of the best and he should be in the top tens

He definitely shows some emotion!
