Best Rock Songs of the 2000s

The Top Ten Best Rock Songs of the 2000s

1 Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

why is last resort up there... its a fairly good song and all.. but this should be number 1 and number 2 must be chop suey...

No question it's the best rock song of 2000's and one of the best rock songs of all time

Green Day is a legend and it deserves to be number one. Holiday and I walk alone are amazing.

This list does not have 21 guns. Like come on. And only like one Green Day song. Green can make the the top ten all there's. Green Day IS THE BEST.

2 Bring Me To Life - Evanescence

No other song can take its place, my favorite song of all time... It is so nicely sung... All credits goes to Evanescence I play it over and over again

Awesome song best amy lee

A real masterpiece... Thanks evanescence to create such a perfect song...

Best song she sings so pretty and the backup singer is hardcore

3 The Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin

Awesome song! You have to listen to this... Also try to get your hands on Dance with the devil. This is one of the best rock groups ever.

Best band ever this list is filled with Breaking Benjamin and is topped off by their number 1 single The Diary of Jane can't beat them

This... This got me hooked to rock!
Loved it straightaway. Beautiful!

Too bad this is the only BB song on this list, Give Me A sign should be in the top ten. Additionally I don't think nu-metal songs count, so in the end, bring me to life, Chop Suey, last resort, etc should be qualified for this list - Revrad

4 In the End - Linkin Park

My favourite band, album and its most catchy song. The perfect song to end a bad day!

Fake list...ain't no song popular than in the end, numb, what I have done, breaking the habit,

I grew up listening to it and probably the first rock song I ever listened

How is this so low?

5 Chop Suey - System of a Down

Most important metal song of the 21st century. 5 is a high spot but this was so iconic and deserves to be in top 3 - Ljubo1950

Easily the best rock track, and song, of the decade - from the best rock album of arguably the 80's, 90's and 00's. Impeccable and actually improves as it goes on, which is pretty rare for modern music. The ending chorus is heartbreaking, soaring, scorching, and utterly empathetic, striking an elegiac tone while delivering a riveting conclusion.

The ending of this song is so angelic and graceful, but so raw and powerful at the same time. This is a song that cannot be topped. A will always be my favorite

This is "The song", time variation, good voice, good band. All good

6 The Pretender - Foo Fighters

My list would be:

1. The pretender
2. All my life
3. Holiday - gd

7 Seven Nation Army - White Stripes

A thumper to get your body filled with chills

Should be number 1. The guitar tunes rock.

Absolutely number one!

Deserves top ten spot

8 Breaking the Habit - Linkin Park

6 Lp songs in this list just adds to the bands' legacy. But Breaking the Habit is amazing live. The great lyrics and sound just shows the bands talent. Definitely led the band into their new sound. - RickLp27

Amazing lyrics and vocals by Chester, just plain awesome. - lukestheman4

This is artistically better than chop suey and everyone knows it.

Awesome lyrics. Its something you will keep on reciting long after you finished listening. Everything is just brilliant. There is no one to compete LP.

9 Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace

Three Days Grace is a purely inspirational band who plays and sings about life. Amazing band, love Adam and Barry and everyone else :D This song really rocks. Give it a listen for sure, and some of their other songs!

It was a difficult decision between what I've done and animal I have become...
But, I chose this one because it felt like more personal and deep than the others... Brilliant song

Despite how overrated this song is it's more worth of at least 6th or 4th place. It's a strong song about drug addiction and in my opinion deserves to be a bit higher than 12.

I have this song and the album and it is really good. They are inspirational.

10 Uprising - Muse

I think uprising is great, but certainly not their best. Try Stockholm Syndrome, The Handler, Citizen Erased, and Fury instead

I think that "Knights of Cydonia" should be number 1.

It's the best songs from Muse

The Newcomers

? House of Cards - Radiohead
? Show Me How to Live - Audioslave

The Contenders

11 Last Resort - Papa Roach

It sounds so awesome. The lyrics mean something that many people can relate to and the background riff at the beginning is so great.

One of the most important from the decade

Cut my life into pieces, this is my... - rowie855

Take this off of the list, please.

12 Headstrong - Trapt

It's a great song I love when he pauses then screams.

Such an amazing song

Mx Unleashed...

13 Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

This song will make you feel emotions you never felt before. Such artistry!

The drums in the end are simple, yet amazing. They give the song it's signature marching band feel. It really could be played by a marching band.

Just brilliant to listen to, start to finish. You feel every beat in line with you the whole length of the song.

14 It's My Life - Bon Jovi

This not only brought Bon Jovi a younger audience and a new decade of success, it also defined the 2000s decade.

A defining song of the Rock genre of the time!

This song rocks! It's my third or fourth favorite song.

Best song of the 2000s! So inspirational!

15 Prayer of the Refugee - Rise Against

Wow only one rise against song in the top twenty? Where are songs like savior, injection, hero of war, swing life away, the good left undone, re-education through labor and even give it all. Additionally, animal I have become should replace in the end at #3, diary of Jane should not be the representative for breaking Benjamin in the top ten, it should be either breath or so cold. Uprising by muse should be higher, Dani California should be top 20 and I do agree that chop suey is deserving of its spot at #2

Awesome song. Everything about it is awesome. From the vocals to the beat and most suprisingly (though not for this band) the meaning. The beauty of this song lies not in the beat, the vocals (though they are still awesome) but the people they give in recognition. This really deserves to be at the number 1 spot.

16 Snuff - Slipknot

This should not only top this list but every list there is about songs.

17 How You Remind Me - Nickelback

Incredible breakthrough song from an incredible band. Summed up the 00s rock music perfectly.

This is one of the most amazing song of the 2000s, I wonder why is in 21th - trisss

18 Toxicity - System of a Down
19 Tears Don't Fall - Bullet for My Valentine

Okay this song has everything amazing

This song is freakingg awesome

This song forced many kids to discover metal ♥

20 No One Knows - Queens of the Stone Age

I can get annoyed by this song because of how much times I heard it, but come on, Green Day #1. ALL IT IS, IS POWER CHORDS! LISTEN TO THIS SONG!

Awesome band, especially with Dave Grohl as drums!

21 Give Me a Sign - Breaking Benjamin

Should be higher, but at least its in the top 25 - Revrad

22 Mr. Brightside - The Killers

This is one of the first songs I learned to play on drums and is the first song I learned on bass. I still listen to it on a weekly basis.

One of the best songs from a band that is STILL RELEVANT today. Almost every band higher than this song is nothing. The Killers has a unique sound that makes them differ from any band. Compare that to these bands (except for Bon Jovi). Listen to these bands and they sound alike. The Killers are so criminally underrated...

How is how you’re remind me by nickelback high then this masters piece? This song should be at number 1!

Wow! 25? People need to up their music taste - Jay_07

23 What I've Done - Linkin Park

I listen to this song lots when I listen to my music on my phone since I bought this song in august 2018

Best rock song ever by the best band ever

Okay, okay, I think Linkin Park is bad. But even he is bad he has one good song. Numb. - Disturbedpotato

25 Somewhere I Belong - Linkin Park

One of the best song of linkin park

Definitely one of the best of 2000s.

The best song from album meteora.linkin park is the number 1 rock band of 2000s.

26 Knights of Cydonia - Muse

This is the Bohemian Rhapsody of the 2000s. Honestly, I might prefer it. Muse are kings

6 minutes of genius.

27 Psychosocial - Slipknot

Great music

28 Hard to Explain - The Strokes

The song gives me a very nostalgic feeling, the tone feels different than other songs. Also the lyric "I said the right things but act the wrong way," is so true

29 By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers
30 Harder to Breathe - Maroon 5

How is this rock?

Awesome song! - TheFourthWorld

31 Burn It to the Ground - Nickelback

Nickelback is an amazing band, their music has hidden meanins in it and everybody is too damm stupid to understand it! also, their music sounds good, unlike some of these mubling zombies above them

43 Just Like You - Three Days Grace
44 Nailed to the Wheel - Edguy

I am super surpised to see this here, I am a huge Edguy fan, and they are not very well known. I would generally consider this metal, but regardless, it's a fantastic song!

45 Don't Stay - Linkin Park
46 Clocks - Coldplay
47 Hypnotize - System of a Down
48 Diabolus - Primal Fear
49 Hoppipolla - Sigur RÓS

Not only the greatest song of the 2000s but the greatest band since the mid 90s. Never released a bad album let along bad song. They always innovate and find a way to change the game. Most people are close minded when listening to foreign bands just because they can’t understand the lyrics. But music speaks louder than words and “Hoppipola” did that single handedly for the 2000s. It inspired and is gave hope to it’s listeners. Simple bit beautiful. That’s what makes a dong great. And even greater when they do it in a foreign language the rest of the world won’t understand but only through the music.

50 Stockholm Syndrome - Muse
