very inspiring song, by a genius rapper, I like this song very much it deserves to be in the top 10

This song should be number One it is so inspiring when I feel like giving up I listen to it... I feel like I can do anything!

2 Viva la Vida - Coldplay Viva la Vida - Coldplay

This song deserves the top place. Coldplay really knew what they were doing when they wrote this.

Coldplay puts electronic music to shame with their use of an orchestra in "Viva la Vida."

Awesome song my fave on the list.

After seeing this song on this list I think it's time I took some cyanide pills

3 Stan - Eminem Stan - Eminem

This song proves anyone who thinks the only people who listen to Eminem are drugged-up whiteys don't understand rap. Rap is an art. Art is constantly developing. YES, Nas, Pac, Big, Rakim, NWA, and Public Enemy came before him. But he took rap to a level past anyone else. One of the greatest songs off of one of the greatest albums. Argument over.

This superb song is about the conversation of Eminem's fan (Stan) and Eminem! The lyrics are awesome!

The Dido sample and the lyrics are some of the greatest of all time.

This shows Eminem at his finest story telling if you haven't herd it its about a fan of Eminem who is righting to Eminem but the letters don't reach him so he gets cross he also has a pregnant girlfriend who findse out that he replaced a picture of her with Eminem and Stan Gose and in a car and drives over a bridge with his girlfriend and dies then his last letter reaches Eminem and he replied and then rilises he died

5 Bring Me to Life - Evanescence V 2 Comments
6 Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes

This is one of the best bands of the 2000s and this is there break through single. They basically brought back garage rock into the rock mainstream

I used to hate rock. But after I listened to this, my whole perspective was changed.

Simple but amazing. Seriously I can play this song behind my back while sitting down but I get more feel from it that songs like "Smooth", "Everlong" and "Californication(which is also very simple).

7 In the End - Linkin Park In the End - Linkin Park

Yes I am still listening to most of these songs in 2012 as well.. These songs are way better than the stuff they produce now-a-days.. In the end has got to be the one I have listened to the most.. But I wish I could vote for multiple songs! And what the hell is ke$ha doing on this list?!

Now I know that this list is crap cause this song is better than most of the songs on here. And why isn't lose yourself number 1

Should be above boulevard of broken dreams

Should be in top 3 positions

8 Crazy In Love - Beyonce

beyonce is definitely the hottest and most talked about singer in the decade, I chose this song cause I simply fell crazy in love with her because of it, she is a queen in her category

You are joking, right? Why is this in the top 10? This the worst song to hit #1 on Billboard Hot 100 that decade! - SelfDestruct

Also this is coming from the guy who added all of the Adele songs to the top ten worst songs of 2015 - Hater

9 Crazy - Gnarls Barkley Crazy - Gnarls Barkley

Such an amazing song, should be higher up.

When I first heard this song, I thought it was in old song. It sounded like an old R&B song. The music video's awesome too!

10 Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

If there's a better song that's been made in the history of music I'm yet to here it. It has everything you could want emotive lyrics awesome guitar solos and a killer video. The fact that beyonce and Eminem are above this is an outrage!

This is my favorite song of Green Day and one of my favorites in general. I feel like this sometimes and it's nice to know I'm not alone. The lyrics and the music are amazing and just the way he sings it is just perfect. This should be in at the very least, top five

Best song to listen to at night with headphones

Best song EVER in my opinion.

The Newcomers

? The Scientist - Coldplay The Scientist - Coldplay

This by far my favorite song of the 2000's. It's so beautifully written and the music video is my favorite of all time. I just love Coldplay.

It's Coldplay's best song, the best piano ballad of the decade. So, it's better than Viva la Vida.

Come on who doesn't love this song? Perfect transition between piano and guitar, and a beautiful song for sure.

? Last Nite - The Strokes Last Nite - The Strokes

Coldplay is so overrated. The Strokes DEFINE music. There's absolutely no competition. period. - PeterG28

The Contenders

11 Apologize - Onerepublic Apologize - Onerepublic

OneRepublic is that band that doesn't get enough credit, the band that sings all the best songs that you never bothered to look up the artist of. Recognize any? Apologize, Secrets, Stop and Stare, All the Right Moves, Feel Again. Those are just a few! OneRepublic is the best band that nobody's heard of, yet everone knows at least one song by.

One of the rare '00s songs that can compete with old classics when it comes to sincerely "beautiful" songs.

I rarely do listen to OR, but it's a memorable song. Still remember the lyrics after 8 years or so. - ArAn

One Republic is famous now. Counting Stars has 1.5 billion views.

12 Clocks - Coldplay Clocks - Coldplay

THis song has the piano playing to start the song. This song is the highlight of their career. This is the greatest song by them. This is better than Viva La Vida.

It's really frustrating for me to see this above "The Scientist".but it's still a good song though

The piano riff in the beginning is iconic, the lyrics are deep; the song couldn't get any better.

This just slightly beats Viva La Vida as the BEST SONG OF ALL TIME!

Sorry, this song defines 2000's music. There was no bigger pop superstars at the decade other than Britney Spears and the Anti-Britney movement princess, Avril Lavigne. This song deserves a spot in the Top Ten. And Avril Lavigne is the best Pop Punk singer/songwriter ever! - Anggun

The landmark of the new decade of pop music. She's the icon. - Anggun

Avril (Ramona) Lavigne - Anti-Britney. Mr. Pugh, a teacher, prefers listening to Miss Lavigne instead of The Dixie Chicks. - playstationfan66
