Top 10 Best Songs of the 2000s

The Top Ten

1 Lose Yourself - Eminem

very inspiring song, by a genius rapper, I like this song very much it deserves to be in the top 10

This song should be number One it is so inspiring when I feel like giving up I listen to it... I feel like I can do anything!

Eminem's best. arguably the best so far

2 In the End - Linkin Park

Yes I am still listening to most of these songs in 2012 as well.. These songs are way better than the stuff they produce now-a-days.. In the end has got to be the one I have listened to the most.. But I wish I could vote for multiple songs! And what the hell is ke$ha doing on this list?!

Now I know that this list is crap cause this song is better than most of the songs on here. And why isn't lose yourself number 1

Should be above boulevard of broken dreams

The song should be re-phrased, Within the End.

3 Viva la Vida - Coldplay

Ugh! Amazing! This is one of those songs that you could never get tired of listening too, and congrats on the Grammy awards for Best Song of 2008 and Best Rock Album! Viva la Vida definitely deserves it, no doubt!

This song deserves the top place. Coldplay really knew what they were doing when they wrote this.

I like this song, but The Scientist will always be my favorite. Great lyrics.

Coldplay puts electronic music to shame with their use of an orchestra in "Viva la Vida."

4 Bring Me to Life - Evanescence

I can name SEVERAL songs Evanescence made in this decade that are far more deserving of this spot than this.

2000s: It's a great song!
2010s: It's a meme song!

Great song!

I love it very much so does. My brother Spencer holliman and my name is Sara Elizabeth holliman.I am Spencer holliman's sister my sister does too and her name is Hadley Grace holliman.

5 Hey Ya! - Outkast

"My baby don't mess around because she loves me so and this I know fo'sho" - Serious song to an uplifting beat with some killer dance moves. You have to love this song!

Heard in Soundtrack to Ella Enchanted (2004).

1 2 3 uh!

6 Stan - Eminem

This song proves anyone who thinks the only people who listen to Eminem are drugged-up whiteys don't understand rap. Rap is an art. Art is constantly developing. YES, Nas, Pac, Big, Rakim, NWA, and Public Enemy came before him. But he took rap to a level past anyone else. One of the greatest songs off of one of the greatest albums. Argument over.

The Dido sample and the lyrics are some of the greatest of all time.

I like Eminem and I'm not a fan of Lose Yourself. This is good. I make anti-Eminem comments because of his fanbase. In reality, I like him

This superb song is about the conversation of Eminem's fan (Stan) and Eminem! The lyrics are awesome!

7 Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

This is my favorite song of Green Day and one of my favorites in general. I feel like this sometimes and it's nice to know I'm not alone. The lyrics and the music are amazing and just the way he sings it is just perfect. This should be in at the very least, top five

If there's a better song that's been made in the history of music I'm yet to here it. It has everything you could want emotive lyrics awesome guitar solos and a killer video. The fact that beyonce and Eminem are above this is an outrage!

Best song EVER in my opinion.

Should be top 3 with lose yourself and the underrated "numb" by linkin park

8 Crazy - Gnarls Barkley

Such an amazing song, should be higher up.

Best hit song of all time.

Best hit song of all time, why isn't this #1?

When I first heard this song, I thought it was in old song. It sounded like an old R&B song. The music video's awesome too!

9 Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes

This is one of the best bands of the 2000s and this is there break through single. They basically brought back garage rock into the rock mainstream

I used to hate rock. But after I listened to this, my whole perspective was changed.

The riff that everyone knows, it is just that good. Everyone knows about it.
(from the queen of England to the hounds of hell)

Simple but amazing. Seriously I can play this song behind my back while sitting down but I get more feel from it that songs like "Smooth", "Everlong" and "Californication(which is also very simple).

10 Crazy In Love - Beyonce

I scroll down this list and this is the first song I actually recognize, still happy it's on the list though

beyonce is definitely the hottest and most talked about singer in the decade, I chose this song cause I simply fell crazy in love with her because of it, she is a queen in her category

You are joking, right? Why is this in the top 10? This the worst song to hit #1 on Billboard Hot 100 that decade!

Also this is coming from the guy who added all of the Adele songs to the top ten worst songs of 2015

I love this song and I love beyonce that's just how it gotta be

The Contenders

11 Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) - Arcade Fire
12 Mr. Brightside - The Killers

A pop-rock song - now, I have every Killers album, and they write really catchy songs, but this one stands above the rest

Such an inspirational song

Best song ever written, catchy beats, great lyrics. Mix them together, best song ever.
It really stands out from any other song.

13 Poker Face - Lady Gaga

Come on you fools stop the hate.

14 A Certain Romance - Arctic Monkeys

An unbelievably crafted song of social commentary written when he was only 16, it is godlike

This song is just amazing!

More like greatest song of all time

15 Last Nite - The Strokes

The strokes are the best!

Coldplay is so overrated. The Strokes DEFINE music. There's absolutely no competition. period.

16 Apologize - Onerepublic

OneRepublic is that band that doesn't get enough credit, the band that sings all the best songs that you never bothered to look up the artist of. Recognize any? Apologize, Secrets, Stop and Stare, All the Right Moves, Feel Again. Those are just a few! OneRepublic is the best band that nobody's heard of, yet everone knows at least one song by.

One of the rare '00s songs that can compete with old classics when it comes to sincerely "beautiful" songs.

I rarely do listen to OR, but it's a memorable song. Still remember the lyrics after 8 years or so.

great 'mix. OneRepublic and Timbaland

17 American Idiot - Green Day

How did no one really vote for this? IT'S AMAZING

18 99 Problems - Jay Z

"Although Jay z is a disgrace to hip hop" person, yeah you, go get some rap education

Although Jay z is a disgrace To Hip Hop This Song Is Awesome

19 Paper Planes - M.I.A.
20 Clocks - Coldplay

This just slightly beats Viva La Vida as the BEST SONG OF ALL TIME!

It's really frustrating for me to see this above "The Scientist".but it's still a good song though

The piano riff in the beginning is iconic, the lyrics are deep; the song couldn't get any better.

To me this coldplay song has a lot more passion than the others

21 My Immortal - Evanescence
22 Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

Lol, Lady Gaga is above this song
I feel bad for the mental problems of people who have it bad enough to vote for Poker Face
My Chem's most listened to song is a must try and if you don't like it keep your bad opinions out of Gerard Way's cornflakes because I can guarantee you he is not interested

One of the best songs of all time. The music is awesome and the band gives it all in this song. Also has pretty deep meaning.

Should be so much higher, given how it's like 30 on top 10 songs of all time

Come on guys. This is literally one of the best songs I've ever heard. At least top 10.

23 And Then There Was Silence - Blind Guardian
24 Hips Don't Lie - Shakira

It is the best selling songs of 21st Century

Best song ever

It's amazing

25 Chop Suey - System of a Down
26 Beautiful Day - U2

Heard in Nim's Island (2008) during the end of the film where Nim, Alex and her dad are happily on her island.

This should be way higher, in my opinion.

Why isn't this top 10

27 Knights of Cydonia - Muse

A TRULY epic song. The riffs! The chorus! The lyrics! The vocals! Shouldn't really work, but Muse MAKES it WORK! Beautifully Amazing.

Truly a classic. I love muse, and this song, without a doubt, is the best song of the decade. Matt Bellamy's finest work.

MUSE DESERVES TO BE IN THE TOP 3 now lets make it number one

28 Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand

The best thing about this track is that it ain't depressing whatsoever. Once you hear this song you'll have a smile on your face.

The song what pretty much put Franz Ferdinand on the map in terms of the music industry.

Another song that everyone knows. Real catchy and fun.

29 Complicated - Avril Lavigne

Avril was definitely 00's spirit! It's just impossible not to listen to one of her songs, especially this one, and not fell nostalgic or remembering the early 00's.

Sorry, this song defines 2000's music. There was no bigger pop superstars at the decade other than Britney Spears and the Anti-Britney movement princess, Avril Lavigne. This song deserves a spot in the Top Ten. And Avril Lavigne is the best Pop Punk singer/songwriter ever!

The landmark of the new decade of pop music. She's the icon.

30 Bad Romance - Lady Gaga

Where the votes? The is THE BEST SONG OF THE 2000s...PERIOD!.

31 The Pretender - Foo Fighters

32 Just Dance - Lady Gaga

the. JAM.

Ruined the entire game series.

33 It's My Life - Bon Jovi

Not only is this the best song of the 2000s, It's the best track since Bon Jovi released These Days.

Best song of the 2000s! Not like other crap music that we have now. What a coincidence! It's the 33rd on this list and peaked at 33 on the billboard! What are the odds!

34 Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz

Come on how can this song not be number 1? At least in the top. This song has everything; from a lovely chorus to a catchy bassline with an underlying message that sticks with you for the rest of your life. Combine these with a perfectly timed rap and instrumentals and you have the combination for the best song of not only the 2000's but possibly ever.

It is so chill

35 Yellow - Coldplay
36 Umbrella - Rihanna
37 Independent Women Part I - Destiny's Child
38 The Scientist - Coldplay

This by far my favorite song of the 2000's. It's so beautifully written and the music video is my favorite of all time. I just love Coldplay.

It's Coldplay's best song, the best piano ballad of the decade. So, it's better than Viva la Vida.

Come on who doesn't love this song? Perfect transition between piano and guitar, and a beautiful song for sure.

39 Ghost Love Score - Nightwish
