Movie Review - Wonder Woman

MegaSoulhero Wonder Woman is the fourth film in the DCEU. As we all know, the DCEU hasn't really had good luck with their movies. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad all got pretty negative reactions. Wonder Woman, however, looked promising. Did DC finally make a good film after all these years, or was this another disappointment? Let's get right into it.

Wonder Woman is about a princess named Diana, played by the extremely hot Gal Gadot, who lives on an island with nothing but women. I'd do anything to go to that place. Later on, a pilot, played by Chris Pine, crashes his plane and is rescued by Diana. She finds out about war and leaves her home to help fight in the war. Let me tell you, when I was going into this movie, I was thinking that it might be good. After watching it, I was surprised that I found this to be one of the best superhero movies of all time! I loved every second of it! Everything about it was amazing! So far, this is the only movie in the DCEU to get a ton of positive reviews. And I can certainly see why! Gal Gadot is absolutely perfect as Diana aka Wonder Woman. She does a great job at bringing the character to life. She was my favorite thing about Batman v Superman. So getting to see her origin story on how she became the hero she is today was really made me appreciate her a lot more. The way she interacts with Chris Pine's character, Steve Trevor, is very believable. When they leave her homeland and enter the outside world, Diana is learning how to adapt to this world that she isn't used to and Steve is there to help her. Their relationship kind of reminds me of Star and Marco from Star vs the Forces of Evil. In which they both are confused about these new places they've never been to and teach each other about these places. They both help each other out. Despite being a superhero, Diana still seems to act like a normal girl. By that I mean she's not perfect. She still has to learn more about her powers and more about fighting. Which makes her more relatable.

The action in the movie was incredible! From the choreography to the visuals, they just look very entertaining! The emotion that Gadot expresses on her face during these scenes really make them more impactful. There's a lot of slo-mo used, but I feel like they work pretty well here. There's also surprisingly a lot of humor in this movie. But it's really funny! And it's not forced like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 or Doctor Strange or... pretty much any Marvel movie. Every actor in this movie does a great job. Chris Pine, no matter what movie he's in, is always excellent. The music is some of the best I've heard in a DC film. As for negatives... honestly, I can't think of any. It's weird because the previous DCEU films were riddled with flaws. This movie is just that good! This is such a major improvement! When watching it, it felt a little short to me. But then I found out that it was 2 hours 20 minutes. I guess I was so invested that I didn't even notice.

Wonder Woman was such an exhilerating and entertaining movie throughout! Tons of great action, great characters, great story, great cinematography, great scenery, and great chemistry! This is everything that I wanted to see in a Wonder Woman film! This is the best DCEU film and one of the best comic book films I have ever seen! I thought for a fact that I wouldn't find a movie this year that was better than Logan, but in the end I enjoyed Wonder Woman more than I enjoyed Logan. This is the third movie this year that I'm gonna give a perfect score to. This is truly my favorite movie of the year.

Score: 10/10

While definitely not the worst the DCEU has made, I still can't bring myself to like this completely. To me it feels like another forgettable superhero film that will cluster with all the other forgettable superhero films. This is exactly how I felt with Civil War. They were fun movies but I haven't really cared to rewatch them after I saw them in theatres. Even Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, while I did enjoy it more than some others, I still don't feel the need to rewatch it. So far Logan is the only comic flick that came out this year that I really enjoyed and would want to watch again. - cjWriter1997

Now I'm hyped for JL - visitor

I'm still not sure if it will be a good movie. The trailers didn't really look interesting in my opinion. - MegaSoulhero

Zack Snyder is directing it... - visitor

Wonder Woman better than Logan? That's a bit of a strong claim. It was wonderful...REALLY wonderful, but...I don't know, I personally wouldn't give it a perfect score. Then again, this is tough to please DCfnaf speaking, so maybe it's just easier to please you than most others. I don't know, but I enjoyed this review. - DCfnaf

Same Logan just edged it - visitor

I can't wait to see this movie - visitor

I really enjoyed this movie. And coming from someone who doesn't like superhero films, that's saying a HELL of a lot. I have some problems with it, but as a whole, this is a good movie that I'd gladly watch a second time.
