Best Survivor Seasons
In my opinion the perfect season. The villains ended up dominating over the heroes with some heroes (James) turning into villains, and some villains (Jerri, Sandra, Parvati) turning into heroes against the big villain of the season Russell. Having Colby as the last Hero remaining was also amazing since he was the "First Hero". And let's not forget about Boston Rob vs. Russell. Russell ultimately came out on top but we never got to see it again because of Russell's idiotic tribe on Redemption Island.
It was a very good desicion to make a heroes vs. villians survivor. Bringing back great players such as Parvati Shallow, Russell Hantz, Colby Donaldson and Rupert Boneham made the show great. Russell dominated the season... again. He made moves and prevented getting voted off by Rob's alliance. Parvati dominated physically. Good going girl! And I'm so happy for Sandra, that she won again. The rest of the players gave their best efforts and I like the challenges that they brought back.
One of the great things about this season is that the interactions with the players' tribe mates were switched, so the Heroes were always arguing, and the Villains were having fun together. There were also amazing blindsides this season, like Cirie, Tyson, and Jt's eliminations. Sandra won this season, and she somehow transformed from a villain to a hero.
I seriously hate this season. The heroes kept losing, and tribal council was predictable every single time. I admit, this season had a great core concept, but not great results. I did not like this season at all, but I would really love to see another one with different players.
By combining the elements of an All-Star season and a brand new one, Micronesia managed to take the best attributes of both and fuse them together.
While dealing with the idiocracy of Kathy or Chet, you were able to see Cirie pull off a major blindside only minutes afterword.
Not only did this season manage to show how much better the Favorites were, it also featured one quitter, along with two injury withdrawals.
Exile Island also makes its return here, allowing for a more controlled method of operating when dealing with the immunity idol. It wasn't bad to look at either.
Finally, Parvati won. She was definitely the most deserving player and although the Final 2 Twist does not deserve credit, this season definitely does.
Yes. Best season! Parvati, Amanda, Cirie, Natalie, & Alexis made the best alliance. Erik was a good player, but he was naive. I wish James wasn't medically evacuated because I really liked him. Jason & Ozzy were stupid for not playing the idol, but still good players for even finding it. Eliza was dramatic, especially at the Final Tribal Council. Ami could've stayed, but I think it's good Erik was not voted out. Tracy was underestimated, I really liked her. I wish Kathy stayed because I really thought she could've been a good player. Chet was funny with Joel for that challenge. Jonathan Penner was a good player, despite being a flipper on Cook Islands. Joel was physical and strong, but sometimes a jerk. Mikey B was basically someone who thinks they can have this whole game in their hands. I wish Yau Man was in the game longer, but he was humble and made it far in Fiji. Mary's blindside was awesome & Fairplay should've either not be in the game or stayed longer
Love love loved this season. All the brilliant stategy and the fact the alliances held despite the tribal switch. Erik giving the immunity idol up was priceless. I love Parvati, glad she won, but would have rather had Amanda win. If she gave better arguments at tribal, she would have won China AND Micronesia.
Provided some of the most entertaining moments ever in Survivor. I mean it gave us the dumbest Survivor ever.
Surprised its not higher it's the best season with an all new cast since the first one. It also managed to have an underdog you could root for in Spencer after everything he went through. But it also had a likable mastermind in Tony who managed to be smart and hilarious. This season also had Chaos Kass, Ninja Stealth Mode Woo, Morgan (oh come on you know she was one of the best parts of this season). The only downside is someone quitting, and J'tia.
Likely this low because it just ended, Cagayan should easily make its way up this list. So many blindsides that were edited so flawlessly that even the viewers could not even predict what was going to happen (I gave up predicting about halfway through). Simply a great cast of characters with drama pre and post-merge that makes this one of the best ever.
My fifth favourite season. The winner was hilarious and deserving. The strategy of this season was completely hare-brained! A lot of moves were made based on emotions, which was irritating but at the same time funny and intriguing. It had core-alliances, flips, hopeful underdogs (loved Spencer and Tash! ), stupid moves and ingenious ideas. What more could you ask for from Survivor?
This is my #1 favorite season because it was good all throughout pre-merge and post-merge. Yeah, Micronesia had the best post merge and Heroes.vs.Villains had the best pre merge but the other half of those seasons weren't to great. Cagyan however kept my on my toes and I was along for the ride as I was interested with everything happening through all 39 days.
This season was clearly, to me, the second best one after Heroes vs. Villains because it featured the two things I love about the show : a strong player in challenges (Ozzy) and a strategic genius (Yul). And even better : they were allied to each other as the underdogs. So epic!
In my opinion, Yul was more that a very great player because he had something a lot of players don't have : he is very smart guy. And smart players make a very good show!
To have the Aitu four come into the merge in the minority, yet have a winner from the group was amazing. I feel Yul played a good game, along with Ozzy. Becky & Sundra, I'm a little disappointed in because they couldn't make fire without matches. Adam & Parvati were really awesome, and I'm happy Parv won Micronesia. I'm mad at Penner for flipping, but he had to do it in order not to be in the jury as soon as the merge happened. Candice I feel was bullied because she made a big move. Nate was an awesome player. Jenny should have made the merge, and probably wouldn't have flipped. Rebecca, I like her, but I wish she didn't swim in that challenge. Brad was a good player in my opinion. Flicka was a funny character. Cristina was okay, Cao Boi was idek what to say. I wish Stephannie wouldn't be talking about home all the time because I wanted to see her more. JP was bossy, Cecelia was good, Billy was lazy, and Sekou loved the game so much he wrote a song about Survivor
Love this season so much! Ozzy and Yul are two of Survivor's bests. Not to mention Parvati and Teller... A lot of memorable people and moments in Survivor history came out of it! But seriously so hard to choose from all these amazing seasons.
Amazing cast and season! I loved the team reward and immunity challenges, and they were super innovative and well-matched! Loved the underdog narrative, Ozzy being so crazy good in everything, Yul the strategist, the Aitu four going all the way to the finals.
Ciera being from the pawn to be voted out to the mastermind of her own fate was what made me loathe her to loving her. Brad getting an impromptu vote-off that was decided during tribal council at the eleventh hour. Candice maturing from a girly flirt to a serious physical threat in redemption island and got redemption for her image.
Overall, great, great season. At least the ones in jeopardy went down with a fight (purple rock, flip-flopping & getting clues) and we get to hope and root for them.
This season pales in comparison to the other two Redemption Island seasons.
This season was fantastic. It is extremely underrated with an underrated winner, Tyson. Compared to his first two attempts to win, Tyson seemed more focused than ever, and was serious about winning, while still giving the viewers funny one-liners. BvV featured some of the most beloved players of all time, Tina and Rupert. This season also featured returning players who were somewhat random, such as Laura Morett, Monica Culpepper and Aras. Luckily, both of these players were able to prove themselves. It also gave us some great new players, such as Ciera, Hayden Moss (the winner of Big Brother 12,) Katie (Tina's daughter), Vytas (Aras' brother) and Brad Culpepper. All together, it was a great season, and I recommend watching it.
This was my first season to watch Survivor and I immediately fell in love with it. I LOVED the concept and the cast, but my favorite was CANDICE! Because of how great this season was it pulled me in to watch all the other seasons
One of the best seasons so much conflict, but unfortunately, the person who won the whole thing was not who everyone was voting for. Blood vs Water 3, anyone?
I really liked this season more than most, pre-merge each tribe had their own distinct dynamic, from Phillips over-bearing leadership to the "cool kids" alliance of the Fans tribe. It also has one of the best post-merges of any seasons, from Malcolm's 3 amigos, Andrea's paranoid scheming to Dawn & Brenda's gut-wrenching fight. All the while, we get one of the best narrators of the show (and best winners) Cochran. Some might find Cochran "Cochy" but if you follow his journey from awkward nerd on "South Pacific" to confident leader on Caramoan, he made a true hero's journey to being sole Survivor!
Oh wow this season was terrible. First off, TERRIBLE casting. Who decided to bring back Phillip, Brandon, Francesca, and Corrine? The fans really didn't seem familiar with the game, and barely any of them did much of anything. The only exceptions I can think of were Reynold and Eddie. The favorites, mostly sucked off Phillip and Cochran for half the time. Plus, Dawn's really sh! tty reunion montage just makes me cringe.
This is a very overrated season. The favorites weren't even favorites, except Brenda, Erik, Malcolm, and somewhat Andrea. The fans also didn't really seem like fans. And Cochran is oh so overrated. He made moves, yes, but he was pretty cocky most of the time. Guess we can call him Cockran.
Honestly one of the better seasons I've seen, from Brandon and Phillip butting heads, to "The Three Amigos" voting Phillip out, to Brenda getting betrayed by Dawn. It was a really good season with the underdog Cochran pulling out the win.
This season brought a whole new meaning to the common phrase "All's fare in love and war." With 2 love story's between Rob and Amber, and Jenna M. and Ethan. And with all of the blindsides this is by far the best season of Survivor.
I loved this season. Rob brought the whole girl/guy team to being a staple in further seasons. Plus for a romantic like myself I liked watching a true bind form that still exists today!
My favourite season of all time it had everything you want in a season great cast, good gameplay and it had a good edit where you actually got to know the contents.
They were all so actually surviving now the producers spoil them abit.
I loved this season. I think Rob played a hell of a game, which made it much more interesting and the romantic love between amber and rob was so cute of them!
This is a VERY underrated season of Survivor. Many people think Heroes Vs. Villains was the best season, however what made me not like it as much as Cambodia was that once the merge happened it felt very bland, and there were just many better moments in Cambodia. Cambodia kept you on your toes the entire time, the tides were always changing for who was "safe", and you will learn to LOVE all of the cast of this season. Not to mention this season has some amazing moments with the Savage blindside, Jeremy using his Idol on Stephen to blindside Ciera, Spencer blindsiding Stephen IMMEDIATELY after that, Joe's dream coming true of having his Dad be on Surivor in the Loved Ones challenged with him just for him to get voted out afterwards, No Votes in the Finale, and the new twist of being able to steal someone else's vote and use it as your own. Kelley Wentworth had to be my favorite part of this season for everything that happened thanks to her.
Truly the most criminally underrated season of survivor ever. It takes a back seat to Micronesia, Cagayan and HvV, but in reality, the calibre of play here is on par with, or even surpasses that of the aforementioned seasons. Spencer's brilliant foresight, Savage's fun narration, Joes immunity spree, Wentworth dominating the immunity idol game and a really likeable and deserving winner. Not to mention that final 6 tribal council.
In the thirty-first season, Survivor still manages to outdo itself. Bringing back 20 one-time non-winners really made the season what it was. Guys like Varner and Savage returning after all these years was incredible. The season is my personal favorite and deserves to be in the top 10 at least.
Incredible season. Every tribal council was a surprise. A great cast full of aggressive, savvy players. Two idols played in one tribal council. Some of the best blindsides in Survivor history. Cambodia will go down as one of the greats.
Sorry, why so low. I loved this season so much! I loved how they chose 16 intresting people over 20 boring morons. I loved the final 5 (except maybe Denise). I loved how they got a different landscape instead of tropical islands. I loved how *SPOILER* James got voted out with 2 immunity idols. I loved every word Courtney said. I loved absolutely everything about this season!
This season had an AMAZING cast, a VERY deserving winner, and interesting stories within. I wish they would have better casts in the new seasons! But I still watch the new ones... I love survivor! Heroes vs Villains was also amazing but since this one's lower, I'll go with this one
Todd is one of the most underrated winners in Survivor History. His point he made to Jean Robert at the Final tribal council makes perfect evidence that he played the best game. Frosti, James, Amanda, and Courtney all were likeable players, and James' blindside still makes me laugh to this day
It was my favorite. Interesting to watch, had good players, good strategies, good location, and good final 2 (Amanda is good, but nowhere near Courtney and Todd good). Best cast, with no player being ignored, and overall, China takes the cake for me.
Arguably the best cast ever. We really got to know these people and see them interact with each other. We also got to see them actually SURVIVE, something that recent seasons have been lacking. Nowadays, the game is all about strategy, but in the Outback, we got to see how they struggled from day to day without food and against nature.
My favorite Survivor season. A great cast who really dealt with nature like true survivors would. An awesome scene when Colby won the car and his mom surprised him by serving his (award) dinner. Very little talk of strategy in this season, something that has become the primary issue in the recent seasons.
Still a fresh season, as many concepts and staples of survivor were not yet established. Tina was an extremely deserving winner, but it was still enjoyable watching most of the other players, including Jerri, Colby, and Elizabeth. And the waterfall challenge in episode 2 was EPIC.
Colby's was SO nice to take Tina to the end. In the long run he made, and still makes more money from his choice.
People tear into the Outcast twist, but keep in mind that it actually altered the trajectory of the entire season. None of the eliminated contestants really had a chance of winning going forward, so they served as catalysts for the remaining castaways. Without Lillian and Burton, Jonny Fairplay would never have had the opportunity to pull his legendary "dead Grandma" lie, and his general post-merge dominance was firmly entrenched as a result.
Pearl Islands gets far too many things right for it to be derided in any meaningful capacity. Aside from the legendary antics of Fairplay, you also have the introduction of Rupert Boneham and Sandra Diaz-Twine, two of the most entertaining players ever. The pirate theme fit the setting and the castaways to a T: it felt like they could be part of a swashbuckling crew of seaborne rapscallions, particularly the Drakes. Everything came together so well. From the very beginning right through to the finale, this season never failed to deliver.
Honestly, this season should be at least #7 on this list. It was anyone's game during the merge. As an added bonus two of the best people to play survivor debuted this season, Sandra and Jonny Fairplay. every bit of this season was entertaining.
I loved it! This was the first season I watched and it was the one that got me addicted to survivor! I loved the cast, and the outcast idea was brilliant! I also loved the pirate theme. I would give it 5 stars!
Easily one of the funniest seasons. Great cast, intriguing twists and notorious moves. Especially loved Sandra, Johnny Fairplay, Donna and Rupert - this was the only season I liked Rupert in. Lillie annoyed me though.
Lol ldiot, Natalie voted off everybody that Russhole did. The jury wasn't bitter that they got "outplayed by Russell" (all he did was play an idol correctly once by the way, read the interviews), they weren't going to reward someone that treated them terribly.
Anyways, awful season. Terrible lopsided editing, almost no craft/storytelling, and produced one of the dumbest players that's glorified by ignorant, sexist fans because "BIG MOVEZ! " that he didn't even pull off. This season has set the fanbase back several paces due to Russell getting a generous edit.
Fantastic season. Russell Hantz singlehandedly kept it interesting week after week. It sucks that he was robbed by a jury too stupid and stubborn to get over their bitterness and reward the best player. Other than that, GREAT season.
Samoa was a lousy season with way too much focus on Russell. It was basically a commercial for his appearance in Heroes vs. Villains. A long three month commercial.
Lmfao, Natalie is a way better player than russel. This season would be 50x better if the editing wasn't so biased for him, especially when galu was full of characters.
Wonderful season! Dynamic players include Malcolm, Denise, Skupin, Abi, Carter (I guess), Penner, And some would say Lisa. Some good challenges (except the last one, that one sucked) and the season also made the meme known as Matsing. Malcolm is super likable, Denise was a wonderful underdog story, Skupin got where he supposed to get to, Abi is a HUGE villain, and Penner is a god.
(WARNING SPOILERS! )
Although I get tired of seeing returning players coming on to the show instead of a completely new cast I loved seeing Skupin return to make it to the end, Penner being entertaining as ever, and Russel Swan be all dramatic and seeing his reactions as his tribe lost every challenge until he got voted off. Best choice of returning players for me
Fantastic season. The most likeable final four ever, unpredictable tribal councils, great water challenges, and power shifts easily make this season a top 10. Plus, who could forget the tribal council where both Abi and Malcolm flashed their immunity idols?
Its really exciting. Power outcasts are there. Majestic landscapes can be found in the location (Philippines). This is one of my favorite seasons ever. I love lisa in this season.
This season had an amazing cast. Two of the greatest characters to ever be on the show, Coach and Tyson. The challenges were also kick ass from the very start. Had a great number of blindsides and an incredible final two, capped off by a fantastic clean sweep of the votes by JT.
It got hard to watch those grown men gang up on Sierra & everyone watch it happen. Even the principal didn't stand up to the bullies. Like 6th grade with grown men. I wish Tyson had never won, because of this!
J. T. and Stephen brought an A game to the table, while fellow contestants Coach, Tyson, and Sierra made splashes in their own various ways.
China, Micronesia, Gabon, Tocantins, Samoa, Heroes Vs. Villains, Nicauragua... such a line of good seasons. But Tocantins is one of the better of the pack.
The best winner period. Great gameplay, and a man who dominated his season better than Richard, Brian, Russell, and Boston Rob. Unfortunately, This is the only season Chris was on, he needs another one, but this is the best. While I'm typing, HvV had a lot of nobodys on the show. Daneille, Candice, how the hell was James a villan, and really? Randy? Sugar? Why get anyone from Gabon
Despite my urge to tell how good this season was, which it was, Parvati Shallow was not the best winner. She barely played strategy and if it weren't for a few dumbasses and being on James's winning team, she would've gotten out early, just like Tom Westman and Rob Mariono.
I think people forget how impressive Chris was in this season. If Micronesia had the black widow brigade, Chris was the black widow brigade slayer.
Amazing, amazing season. The best underdog narrative in Survivor history. Criminally underrated.
Borneo was not the best season because it was the first one, it is the best because it let you really get to know the characters (Sonja, B. B, Stacy, Ramona, Dirk, Joel, Gretchen, Greg, Jenna, Gervase, Sean, Sue, Rudy, Kelly, Richard) I remembered everyone by heart. These seasons, you say "Monica from 'Survivor: Samoa' (Which was voted #1)" and you say "Who's Monica? ". In Borneo, you got to see people having fun. You see they're personalities, like stubborn Rudy, Goofy Sean, or insane Greg. You got to see who they really are. These seasons it's all strategy and you don't get to meet the people. In South Pacific, I haven't actually seen them build a shelter, make a fire, or search for food in the jungle. You saw all of that stuff in Borneo. The first season made things seem more real, and more fun. I enjoyed it more than any other season.
I think Richard was the most deserving winner too. Even more than Yul. Ozzy should have won Cook Islands. Go Ozzy. Hope he wins South Pacific.
The very first season of Survivor. It is almost impossible to argue against it being #1 for that sole reason, let alone the memorable cast including Richard Hatch, Rudy Boesch, and others.
First and best.
Such a great cast. Kenny, Sugar, Susie, Corinne, Matty, Randy, and Crystal were all so funny and memorable. And the Fong alliance taking power from the Onion alliance is amazing to watch. I personally thought Susie should have won over Bob, but still an amazing season.
Underrated winner along with the first nerd to go far. Kenny. Sure Stephen would come later, but Kenny was proof that even a weak guy could be good at survivor.
Too underrated! See this Survivor. For strategy and interesting players... This one can't be missed. It should be top 5!
One of the most unique locations around the planet and one of the most historic winners of survivor history...
The only time in Survivor history where an entire tribe dominated all immunity challenges, leaving us with one of the greatest Survivor heroines, Stephenie. She was by definition, a true Survivor of the game of Survivor.
20th!?!? This season has the best location, cast, winner and a ton of entertainment! At least Vanuatu made top ten!
Dominance like no other season made for a spactacle, with some very likable characters.
Tai is easily the best SURVIVOR this season. By survivor I mean he is easily the most adaptable to the Koh Ring environment. This season is filled with the most medical instances I've seen! Caleb getting sent by medical early was a huge letdown but I bet he'll be back in another season. This season already has some nice blindsides and the cast is great.
Way overrated season. It was a terrible cast! The worst winner of all time! Aubrey should have won! Michelle had no game at all. Tai messed his game up. I didn't enjoy watching it after Neal left. This season got too many good ratings for mark the chicken.
This season will be much higher after all the decency bias. I am LOVING the suspensefulness so far! Best cast ever!
Jason and Scot are way worse than Russell, at least he kept it secret the pair is only isolating themselves.
I have to say, this is one of the worst seasons. Despite having a memorable cast, the twist was constantly forced down your throat constantly, too many people didn't even know what they were doing and completely threw their games over. Not to mention the winner of the season almost ruined his own game multiple times before going for floating, then suddenly decided to be strategic.
This season is one of my far favorites, seeing the difference between the older for rule playing people (gen x) versus mellennials who are more lay back carefree people, led to big twist when the merger occurred. This was my first season that I watched and it got me to watch all the others. If you haven't watched this season I recommend doing so!
Oh god, this should be much lower. I absolutely hated how Jeff constantly shoved the theme down our throats (again). Plus, almost no one played to win. They just wanted David gone half the time. David and Jessica were the only ones who truly played to win.
I feel that this is the most underrated season ever. There were so many power shifts, which made it difficult to determine the winner. The cast was one of the best in Survivor history. Had David won this season, I believe it would be ranked higher.
The only flaw is Coach did not win. Other than that, very underrated season. Brandon's emotional character arc, Cochran's knowledge and flipping, and Coach's strategy makes for an awesome season.
I thought this was a suspenseful season. Congrats to sophie for upsetting coach for sole survivor
Too bad ozzy did not win
Great cast; this season has it all; the battle of the sexes, battle between generations, cunning strategists causing the the game to twist and turn, players flipping back ad forth between alliances and lots of laughter in between.
The interviews were funny, the challenges very interesting and finally beautiful men and women to watch on T.V..
What?! Amazon is my second favorite season of the show because this was the first season where you genuinely never knew what was going to happen. How could it be behind All Stars, South Pacific and Caramoan?
This honestly should be a lot higher than 23. Amazon had a lot of great moments in it with a interesting cast, not only did it have great gameplay in it but they were actually surviving.
It wouldn't quite be my favourite but easily top 10.
All of the seasons up until all star are amazing. After that, the show became just about annoying people strategizing to get people off and had nothing to do with "surviving".
Great season and with meeting one of the most beloved players who played a very strategic game (Cirie)!
One of the best Final Five's ever.
Has both Terry and Cirie
This season is amazing it had Aras, Cirie, Shane, Danielle, Terry like this season is amazing
One of my favorite seasons since Kaoh Rong, so many memorable castaways, shocking blindsides and fantastic game play. I just wish the finale wasn't so underwhelming but overall it is definitely a top 5 season to watch.
Many great castaways. It had a very good winner. It was amazing to see how these Survivors handled the theme. Anyone could come back and I would enjoy that season.
One of the better seasons in a long time. Finally, we're treated to more balanced editing, less unnecessary twists, and more enjoyable players.
Nick, Christian, Kara, Gabby, Angelina, Alison, Davie,Mike, Alec and Natalie were all really memorable characters! And on the top of that, the John blindside was amazing!
You people are absolutely blinded by the fact that this season practically ruined how Survivor is supposed to be played. The season was overfilled with bad players that did nothing to evolve the game. It was so focused on making strategic moves instead of surviving the elements the producers had to throw in way too many twists and advantages just to spice things up more. But the theme was completely horrific and ruined the legacies of many great players. And the advantages were EVEN WORSE. The Legacy Advantage was brought back despite it being an AWFUL advantage. Debbie going to exile which was a SHIP?! And she gets advice from COCHRAN, and what now? An Advantage Choice? Oh, and the Vote Steal. To add, they put too many idols and made the game overpowered. In conclusion, WORST SEASON EVER. If Season 35 doesn't bring back the purpose of Survivor, I don't know what will.
Game Changers should not be last. While it was not a great season, it was certainly not a terrible one. The pre-merge portion was good, as it was fun to see Sandra control the game, even though we knew that there was no chance for her to win. The episode after Sandra left may have been the worst episode in Survivor history, but it left everyone feeling somewhat satisfied. It did not make any sense for Jeff to out Zeke as transgender, and it gave the audience closure when the players on Zeke's tribe came to his defense, including Jeff Probst. As the season went on, I think it got better. It was awesome to see Cirie navagate through the game well for a third time (not so much in HvV) and she ultimately could have won had there not been a ton of advantages throughout the season. It was completely heart-breaking for Cirie to go out in the way that she did, even though she had no votes. To remind everyone of what happened, Brad won immunity, Tai played his two immunity idols on himself and ...more
Terrible, terrible season. Watching this I was so confused what was going on. Everyone (besides Malcolm and Sandra) relied on twists to get far into the game, and didn't really play much of a strategic game. If it's a game changers season, then can't they figure out how to shift the game on their own? Why so many advantages? This season just ruined Survivor for me, and I'm really not excited about the next season.
It was a pretty bad season, and the cast chosen for a theme called Game Changers was a huge production fail. If you are going to choose a cast like that change the name, or if you are going to use that name don't choose a cast like that. It was ridiculous all around. Still it does not deserve to be last. No way this was worse than Redemption Island or even One World.
