All Too Well

I'm sorry, but why is this so low down on the list? Every time I listen to it, it makes my heart tighten up so intensely, I can't even. It's so sad and depressing and incredible, that after I listen to it and another song plays, the next song will always seem vastly inferior. I don't want to get into, it it's so amazing. And nothing like the song describes has ever happened to me - I'm only 14 and I've never been in a serious relationship, but I still feel like it happened to me when I listen to it, which is something Taylor's always been amazing at doing, but I think in this song more than all the others. And she said herself that it was the most emotional song to record off of Red, just saying.

Anyway, I can't actually tell you how much I love it, and I can't shove my opinion into your brain, so I guess I'll just shut up now.

Just saying but this song was going to be ten minutes long but Taylor revised it to a still-breathtakingly-long-five minutes.

Let me just tell you the bridge lyrics...

"Maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much?
But maybe this thing was a masterpiece til you tore it all up.
Running, scared, I was there. I remember it all too well.
HEY, you call me up again just to break me like a promise!
So casually cRUEL in the name of being honest.
I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here...'cause I remember it all too well."

There's still more, ladies and gentlemen...

"wind in my hair, you were there, you remember it all,
Down the stairs, you were there, you remember it all,
It was RARE. I was THERE. I remember it all. Too. Well."

These lyrics are SO POWERFUL. And I saw her perform it LIVE. And she CRIED.

The BEST song from Taylor Swift!
I've got this song as my favorite song on the album the first time I'd listen to it. Then it came that this song was my favorite of all of her songs besides "Back To December", "Ours" and "Enchanted" when I'd listen to it the most of the time. This is full of emotions where you can recognize what kind of feelings she put on the song. Also, the lines "You call me up again just to break me like a promise, still casually cruel in the name of being honest", it gives me goose bumps every time I listen to it. In over all, this song is wonderful.

All too well is just an awesome song. It tells us on how we started to begin our love. And it also tells us on how we break up. She used a nostalgic moment in this song to show how beautiful love is. This is the most beautiful song that I ever heard that written by the most talented singer -songwriter in the world

HANDS DOWN THIS IS TAYLOR'S BEST SONG!

She looks back on her relationship and she tells a story of the good and bad times. This song has so much emotion and it's a beautiful roller coaster and if you're anything like me you'll be crying. It's such a personal song yet it has beautifully relatable lyrics. Once you reach the "you call me up again just to break me like a promise" is when the waterfalls come. Honestly this song is one of my favorites of all time and this is Taylor's best lyrics and its just truly perfection.

Should be in the top ten. You should listen to her Grammy performance of this song.

"Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place... I might be okay but I'm not fine at all... Tell me about your past thinking your future is me... And I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to... You call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest... Time won't fly it's like I'm paralyzed by it, I'd like to be my old self again but I'm still trying to find it..."

This song is one of the strongest, most round T. Swift songs. I am a big fan of her music, but this song tells an honest story in only five and half minutes. That is impressive! It is her strongest lyric writing to date, and I wish she had more like it. It feels like a page ripped right out of her life. It makes me sort of sad that most of the songs on this lost at singles- an artists best songs aren't usually the most popular ones. That is definitely true for this country/pop gem.

This song NEEDS more votes, number 18 is an INSULT! These are in my opinion, the best lyrics she's ever written.

"Maybe this thing was a master piece, till you tore it all up"

"Cause here we are again in the middle of the night, we're dancing round the kitchen in the refrigerator light"

"Running scared, I was there, I remember it all too well"

It was the first song to be written for the red album, therefore it set the bar very high for the other songs

It was originally 10 minuets long, she was so absorbed in writing it, she made it more than twice as long as it should be. I think that just somes up the pure emotion in the song.

This song is just so beautiful lyrically and portrays so much raw and genuine emotion that you can feel it in every line.
"And you called me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest, I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here, 'cause I remember it all, all, all, too well. " -This is probably one of the most brilliant lines I've ever heard. The imagery is so tragically beautiful, and the comparison of how he's broken her in the same way he broke their promise is just perfect. For its emotional, lyrical, and vocal brilliance, All Too Well should be #1.

This song reminds me of my ex and this song singelhandedly got me through that breakup. I can feel her pain when she wrote this, it is so genuine and heart-wrenching, (in fact, I think I recall hearing that this song took the longest to write out of any song she ever wrote because it was so difficult to get all of it down) and it comes across beautifully. So relatable, but also so well written; the lyrics are so metaphorical and deep, and Taylor's voice is so dynamic and pure. I love everything about this song and it definitely deserves a top spot.

This to me, is the greatest song ever written and performed. She even said that it was the hardest song she has ever written. All of the emotion and feeling in the song are second to none. You can hear the emotion in her voice in the studio version of the song but where it shines is when she sings it live. If you haven't heard her sing it live then you haven't heard the most emotional performance of a lifetime. 10/10

"So casually cruel in the name of being honest" possibly one of the best lyrics ever written. I immediately related to this lyric. It's those people who point out 'flaws' in someone and justify it as being honest when in fact it's just plain mean. These 'flaws' are the idiosyncrasies, the quirks that make people who they are, and in fact are the things that other people appreciate and love in that person. For someone to use it against them as if it's a negative thing can be very damaging and can really chip away at someone's confidence, especially when they don't have the self-awareness to realise that these things are unique attributes, NOT flaws. For that lyric, this should be number one.

This song was made on 2010 and released 2 years later.. Swift said it was hard to simplify the lyric because the story was so long it could reach 10 minutes when converted into a song.. So this song was serious and if you pay attention there was no Reff... The song flows like a story and the words she put in the lyric was thrilling, I could feel the raw emotion the time I hear it.

I realize that this is one of her newer songs but this needs to be WAY higher on the list than where it is right now! It shows how much she has grown as a songwriter; lyrically I feel it is hands down her best song. She beautifully translates her emotions into this masterpiece. It may not be one of her huge well-known hits, but it DEFINITELY needs to at least be in the top 5!

It's so emotional. It's so touching. "Maybe this thing was a masterpiece, till you tore it all up. Running scared, I was there, I remember it, all too well."... "So casually cruel in the name of being honest, I'm a crumpled up piece of paper, lying here, because I remember it all, all too well..." You don't even need related experience to feel the song is relatable.

This is my favorite Taylor song hands down. I love all of Taylors music but this is a beautiful song. It is a work of art the emotions throughout the song change. Even though the song is very personal I feel that their are so many lyrics that me and many others can relate too. The lyrics are so amazing, and it is perfect poetry. I have cried many times while listening to this song and I don't cry very often but it hits a special place in my heart. It is just a truly amazing song! LOVE YOU TAYLOR

The lyrics in this song are so clever, and it's so emotional. I couldn't pick a favorite song by Taylor before I heard this song. After getting to hear Taylor play it live when she cam to my city, it made me fall in love with this song even more. This is definitely my all time favorite song by the absolutely beautiful and amazing Taylor Swift

. I love this song. It's so pretty. It's my second favorite song behind Enchanted. I couldn't stop singing it and hearing it. I purposely had it stuck in my head for a week. How can you not love it? It's beautiful. It was the last song I listened to at Midnight because I wanted it to be in my dream. I remember that all too well

I believe, this song should be on the top. I'm a big fan of TSwift, and I really listen to all her songs all the time. This song is just perfect. The lyrics, the melody and the emotions fit perfectly. It's so visual that you can almost imagine the scene while the song plays. From reminiscing the good times to narration of the fallout to putting yourself back, this one is just damn so relatable. This should be on the top. Come on, swifties out there, I know you love this song very much.

THIS SONG SHOULD BE #1! JUST BECAUSE IT'S NOT ALL OVER THE RADIOS? THIS SONG IS FULL OF MEANINGFUL AND AMAZING LYRICS THAT MAKES IT NOT ONLY TAYLOR'S BEST SONG BUT ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER. LYRICS INCLUDE:
"You call me up again just to break me like a promise"
"Here we are again in the middle of the night, we're dancing around the kitchen in the refrigerator light"
"Time won't fly it's like I'm paralyzed by it, I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it."
UGH THIS IS AN OUTRAGE

Makes me cry every time. Too many amazing lyrics in this song to not be at least top ten. By the looks of this list it seems like people who haven't actually listened to all her music votes, seeing as all her singles are at the top. I love every single one of her songs, this one is just the most well written and meaningful.

It can be denied that this is the best song she ever wrote.. those emotions she puts in writing this songs.. And she performs it so emotionally every night at her live concerts.. everybody will be touched by this song.. All the meanings behind it.. And it tells all the story from the happy times to the bad ones.. this song is fabulous!

This song is a masterpiece, it deserves to be at LEAST in the top 3, I mean really what is wrong with you?
"There we are again in the middle of the night, we're dancing round the kitchen in the refrigerator light"
"You call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest."
"After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own, now you mail back my things and I walk home alone"

Best song of her BY FAR. Perfect story-telling lyrics that allow you to picture in your mind everything she is describing and leave you with a feeling of nostalgia for a relationship you were never even on. The instrumentation accompanies the lyrics entirely.

This is the BEST taylor swift song EVER. It is so emotional, tells a story and it's just PERFECT! Taylor Swift even said that it was the hardest song she's ever written. Who could blame her?! This is a masterpiece and it deserves to be NUMBER ONE NOT EIGHTEEN COME ON PEOPLE!
