Top 10 Television Series with the Best Theme Songs

The Top Ten
1 The X-Files The X-Files is an American science fiction drama television series created by Chris Carter. The original television series aired from September 10, 1993, to May 19, 2002, on Fox.

This used to scare me so bad when I was little. When I was a kid, my parents used to watch the X-Files every night and this scared me so bad that until I fell asleep I was always watching the door expecting a monster or an alien to come around the corner. But now that I'm older it doesn't creep me out as badly. I actually like this eerie tune now.

This theme fits the series so well. It's simple, yet it still has that creepy vibe that The X-Files is known for. The best, and one of the most iconic theme songs of all time.

Yeah this should be nominated for a Grammy. Just kidding by the way. But I guess it's the scariest part of the show which is upsetting.

Man, I love how the X files or Gillian/David make it to the top of many lists!
Best show ever!
Very catchy theme song.

2 The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is an American sitcom that originally aired on NBC from September 10, 1990, to May 20, 1996.

Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down and I'd like to take a minute, just sit right here, I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-air, my days, chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool and all shooting some b-ball outside of the school. Then a couple of guys they were up to no good, startin' making trouble in my neighborhood, I got in 1 little fight and my mom got scared she said You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air

In west Philadelphia, born and raised on the playground is where I spent most of my days, chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool and all shooting some b-ball outside of the school.
Then a couple of guys they were up to no good, startin' making trouble in my neighborhood, I got in 1 little fight and my mom got scared she said "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air

How is this not number 1? I have never met a person who couldn't sing this all the way through! And years later its still so popular! I think will smith's appearance on the graham norton show proved that!

EVERYBODY! " in west Philadelphia born and raised... "

Now heres the story all about how my life got flipped turn upside down and I'd like to take a minute just sit right here, I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called bell-air. Love that show!

I totally love this series, it's theme song makes me always stand up, dance, and singalong. The official video is hilarious, I agree with some other peoples comments on how The Big Bang theory should be in the top ten because, it is amazing and so catchy

Not sure why the X files is there because that song doesn't even have any lyrics. Anyway, I voted for this although The Big Bang Theory is a very close second.

Without any doubt I'll be there for you stands number 1 for me... Best song and shows the concept of the show, which is about friendship! Love the show and the song!

What I really like about The Simpsons is how they are always changing it up with different couch gags. Sure some are reused, but still its very unique.

This has to be first. The moment the theme opens up, it dosn't matter if you never watched this show, you just know its " The Simpsons". It's that good!

This should be number 1, a great composition and one of the most famous themes ever!

Gives you the The mood of the show, and you know your in for some fun relaxation

5 Pokemon Pokémon, abbreviated from the Japanese title of Pocket Monsters and currently advertised in English as Pokémon: The Series, is a Japanese anime television series, which has been adapted for the international television markets.

It's amazing how the Original Pokemon theme song managed to withstand the test of time despite all of the newer theme songs that Pokemon created. Although I knew a bit about it I only recently became a Pokemon and yet I somehow knew the lyrics off-by-heart and I even know almost all of the Pokemon theme songs! Maybe it's just the companies composers, but either way the original theme is one of the best theme songs out, Even in other countries where the lyrics, language and tune are different it's still perfect!

No matter how old you are, if someone starts singing this, you have to sing with them. It's an unspoken rule. If you do not know the words, you are lying to yourself. You do. Sing it loud, and sing it proud. I WANNA BE, THE VERY BEST. LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS.

I feel like the other theme songs deserve better, sure the first was great an all, but when was the last time you heard someone sing or even mention pokemon battle frontier or the black and white theme?

For all the 90's kids, this has to be #1. I recently listened to it and I started crying. The original theme song makes me so nostalgic.

6 Cheers Cheers is an American sitcom that ran for eleven seasons between 1982 and 1993. The show was produced by Charles/Burrows/Charles Productions in association with Paramount Network Television for NBC and created by the team of James Burrows, Glen Charles, and Les Charles.

Love at first sight. That describes the song. Just being home. Around people who love you. Where everybody knows your name and they are always glad you came.

This has to be No. 1. Never really watched cheers but I still know the theme song. This is without a doubt the best theme song there is.

I feel like this song, sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and there ALWAYS glad you came.

I never really watched the show much... but I love the song

One million years B. C, nazca, clash of the titans, creature from the haunted sea, thrill seekers, WCW mayhem, out of the unknown, the brain from planet arous, and the 1982 North American championships in las vegas.

Haha I love this show! Best theme song! The best part of the song is the end when they say life is unfair laugh out loud. That's the perfect song for those girl crazy, selfish, unruly boys! Laugh out loud

I love They Might Be Giants! This is the perfect theme song for such a crazy and hilarious show. I loved this when I was younger and now I watch this show all the time on teen nick.

No one can ever get this out of their head. I don't use this word very often, but this song, is GOD DAMNED EPIC.

How is this #99? It's a great and AWESOME theme song. It's creepy yet catchy. I love the show and the theme song. Gravity Falls!

Shouldn't supposed to be in 1st place? The X-Files theme is overrated and both themes have no instrumentals...

I know this is weird, but 20% of the reasons why I watch this show is its song.

I like how it reminds me of the theme song on Andy Griffin.

11 Gilligan's Island Gilligan is a fictional character played by Bob Denver on the 1960s TV show Gilligan's Island and its many sequels.

The poetic lyrics and catchy tune make you feel like you want to be stranded on a desert isle with Gilligan, the Skipper, too, the Millionaire and his wife, the movie star, the Professor and Mary Ann...

It's so good I mean what's better. It needs to be in the 20's on this list. I said, "Just sit right back and you'll read this now it's not bad it's good... I am using key boored it's not hard to tell. (read it like the song)

This seriously needs to be higher up. One of the catchiest (and most popular) T.V. series themes ever, and it didn't even make the top 25?
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...

It was between this song and the Cheers theme. But I chose this one. It tells such a story and is so catchy. It's the song I think of when I think of T.V. themes.

12 Happy Days Happy Days is an American television sitcom that aired first-run from January 15, 1974 to September 24, 1984 on ABC, with a total of 255 half-hour episodes.

How is this not in the top 10? Seriously. I listen to this theme song non stop, its stuck in my brain and every time game of thrones comes on I hum along unlike most people that just skip it. Anyways, the theme song perfecty fits into the medieval theme of the show, and the show itself is AMAZING. Please vote this amazing piece of music up!

COME ON 17?! This is a masterpiece which 100% matches the series. Like when you listen to the cello part and think about the power game, the sadness of meaninglessness of the houses, the lust for power... it is just brilliant. It should be in the top 5.

By far one of the best theme songs of all time. I absolutely love it! Should at least be in the top tens. Go listen to it

This is one of those theme songs where: You turn your T.V. off at the end of a show usually. When this is the show on next, you wait two more minutes just so that you can hear the theme song.

Every Body knows this song! Not just because its simple, because it's a great show! Every Teenager Will love this show for years to come.

For sure one of the best known theme songs of the 21st century

22 South Park South Park is an American adult animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Comedy Central television network. The show is about four boys, who are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick, and their adventures in South Park, Colorado.

South Park's theme is just awesome. And the lyrics give us a little preview of each of the four main characters. Also, we get to see a lot of South Park. Plus, the beat is just catchy and the way the characters sing is hilarious.

sick bass for a theme song, can't believe theres no jetsons theme, or flinstones theme, or captain planet, also I like the always sunny theme

Friendly faces everywhere! Humble folks without temptations! It's just so catchy! And I love the style to it! Go South Park!
