Top 10 Best Trivium Songs

The Top Ten
1 Shogun

Shogun is interesting. All other 10 songs on the record might have you checking to see how much time is left, giving the feeling that some drag on for too long. Shogun is nearly twice the length of the others and yet it flows so perfectly that not once do you feel it drags on. For an 11 and a half minute song, that's pretty impressive. It just builds and builds.

A great example of a catchy chorus that rivals all of their other catchier songs, an immense second movement complete with a bluesy, country-styled solo, and a fantastic build-up into some of the most epic thrash soloing the band has pulled off. This is the band's crowning gem, and definitely a career highlight.

2 Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr

It's ridiculous that many songs today tend to "be better" than masterpieces like this one. I still don't understand why, but if someone gets my message, it's that we should listen to Trivium more often and not trash like Pop or Wannabe artists. Although, if you ask me, in my opinion, this is the best Trivium song because it has one of the best heavy guitar inputs and so on.

Awesome song! Trivium's astounding musicianship is certainly on show in this song, with kick-ass riffs, mind-blowing solos, and ridiculous drums just being some of the reasons that make this magnificent song the best in a catalog of magnificent songs.

3 In Waves

The mesmerizing tone, the heavy drums, the really electric guitar, the innovative chords, and other things, make "In Waves" the best Trivium song of all time! There is no doubt that it is a masterpiece that you never tire of listening to. It is a container of great memories of what was once Heavy Metal at its best.

Absolutely incredible. Definitely my favorite song by them ever. It's quite heavy and even has a pretty unique and original music video to go along with it. The atmosphere is much darker than any release they have ever done and is just a major headbanger!

4 Like Light to the Flies

This is the song that got me into Trivium. I love this song very much. The combination of metalcore and clean vocals is what made this song awesome, along with powerful and inspiring lyrics. This is my top favorite song of theirs.

Definitive song of Trivium. Great combination of metal, hardcore, and thrash with a memorable solo. Dying in Your Arms is their worst song because it doesn't represent them at all. Just a poppy rock song isn't Trivium.

Never heard of this song before, and as a Trivium fan, I am. I'd like to add more, but I just wanted to say how highly this song has impressed me many times, viewing also its perspective.

5 Down from the Sky

Why is this below In Waves? That right there lets me know that this list is being dominated by people who are new to Trivium and haven't even heard anything else. This song is Trivium's masterpiece, far better than In Waves. This song has some of Trivium's best guitar work, lyrics, vocals, and represents what Trivium is all about. Into the Mouth of Hell We March and Throes of Perdition should be higher as well. It's a joke that this isn't number one. Actually listen to their Shogun album before you even think about voting for anything else.

6 Throes of Perdition

Listen to this song before you could ever think it isn't the best. Love the epic riffs and the part where Matt's vocals go clean. I love this song. It's the best song of Shogun and, so far, Trivium's best song ever made.

This is the song that got me into Trivium, and it will always be the best in my opinion. Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis is close, but this beats it. It is a masterpiece by the best band ever. Trivium till death.

This song is beautiful vocally and instrumentally. This song almost couldn't have gotten any more perfect! I'd rank this personally in my top 3. It's so good.

7 The Sin and the Sentence

The first time I listened to it, I was like, What, this wasn't like previous albums (holy crap those drums). Listened again, and thought, Holy crap, that was really good. The third time in a row I listened to it, I thought this was probably the best I have ever heard from these guys.

Talk about brutal lyrics, a 'smash your head against something' chorus, no riff (and there are many) got boring, every aspect of Trivium that I ever loved just got mashed into one song. Not to mention Matt's extensive vocabulary again showing. Freaking wow.

8 Strife

Has to be my favorite song by them. The guitar work is incredible. It's a catchy song with a good meaning behind it. They have many good songs on this level, and this has to be one of the top five, if not their best.

This and about two more are the only songs I liked from Vengeance Falls. It just seems the whole album is filler, and there's really nothing exciting about it.

When they played this live, there was so much power and emotion. I'm glad I got to see them in concert and am going to again. This is a masterpiece and deserves top 5 at least.

9 Dying in Your Arms

It's an awesome song. I heard it when I was a kid and now, listening to it as an adult, I get goosebumps. If I had a choice of having nonstop sex for the rest of my life or listening to this song by Trivium, I would choose this song. METAL FOREVER!

This song should be number one for sure. It is the best mix of hardcore sound and amazing vocals by Matt Heafy. You can feel the emotion in this song.

I agree with the mate who says it's the best mix of hardcore sound and amazing vocals by Matt Heafy. I love the words of the song.

10 Into the Mouth of Hell We March

This is my favorite Trivium song. The guitar riffs at the intro and interlude send chills down my spine, and the guitar solo sounds like a battle between two samurai in the rain and lightning. When he starts singing "into the mouth of Hell we march" before the solo, I get goosebumps every time. This is a legendary song.

This song is to Trivium what Hallowed Be Thy Name is to Iron Maiden (it actually sounds kind of like that song in some parts and shares a similar structure). The lyrics are so moving. They really make you feel the power of nature as they are caught in the storm and are also so inspiring.

The Contenders
11 Kirisute Gomen

I honestly don't know why this isn't in the top 3. The musical styles exhibited in this song are various yet masterfully intertwined. From the thrashy main verses to the melodic chorus, and from the acoustic - or at least very light, compared to the rest of the song - first few notes to the final repeat of the chorus after the song seemingly ends, this one is a masterpiece well worth anyone's 6 and a half minutes.

I never thought I'd like Trivium. I've heard a few of their songs and thought "meh, they're very talented but nah". Never really cared for their stuff. Then I checked out Shogun... and the title track... this song... now I like Trivium.

12 Built to Fall

The perfect mix for a song, this is the single of this album. The chorus is one of the best of Trivium, and it captures the power of the group.

I just love the feel of this song. Riffs are just perfect!

I don't know how many times I've listened to this one...

13 A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation

Best song by far. From start to finish, this song is pure gold. The solos and that guitar harmony are just utterly unlike anything else Trivium has ever done in their songs before or after.

The guitar solo says it all. That, and the sheer repressed anger that exudes from every verse. You can really feel the rage in this song!

The solo speaks for the song in this case, and the chorus is awesome too. Much better than Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr.

14 Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis

This song just gets heavier and heavier as the song goes on! Talk about a massive climax! When you see this song live and Matt and Corey are sharing vocals, it just kicks ass! This song should not be 17th, what a joke! My other favorite song, "He who spawns the furies," is currently 36th, what?

That intro is sensational, and the bass solos in the middle are pretty cool. Also having a catchy chorus, this song has all the elements of a top 10 Trivium song. Spot 15 is far too low!

Absolutely amazing, as I was left in awe after listening. This song will definitely leave you hungry for more Trivium!

15 Beyond Oblivion

This combines everything Trivium has done in their history of stellar songs. Hoping to see this make the top 10.

This song molds their old and new styles perfectly. This needs to be higher up the list!

Absolutely fantastic song. Possibly Trivium's best, then definitely Top 3.

16 Ember to Inferno

How the hell is this all the way down here?! This song is the spark of the entire first album! From Ember To Inferno! Trivium has risen and evolved since! This is top ten material, in my opinion.

Loads of other great songs, but casting my vote for this one just because it deserves to be higher. One of their best, period! And to think the dudes weren't even 20 when this was recorded...

Absolutely amazing song, should at least be in the middle of the top ten, but because it's from their debut album, people don't know it as well.

17 Until the World Goes Cold

This song is a masterpiece. A slow, chugging groove, with a hell of a consistent drum beat backing up the guitars. It isn't the fastest song in their catalog, however, the lyrics are wonderful and the instruments build off one another.

Just an amazing song which will make you realize that metal bands can make a slow song that can beat all other singers' songs.

Just what Trivium was missing. A greatly vocalized song. Soft but well thought!

18 Drowned and Torn Asunder

Very meaningful song. A true masterpiece! It has insane riffs in the intro that just makes me want to break something! Trivium all in all is the best, however, this is in my top 5 at least from them.

This song has one of the greatest choruses from Trivium.

Awesome switch in vocals, giving great balance and sound to the song.

19 Of Prometheus and the Crucifix

I generally don't like songs with "too much" screaming, so this is the best Trivium song for me. It's technically the heaviest without being too harsh vocally.

Original, well-designed song. Will definitely be listening to this one for tens of years to come.

20 Ascendancy

How the hell is this song at the end of the list? It's their best!

21 Caustic are the Ties that Bind

I truly believe this is the best song off of In Waves and definitely in my top 5 Trivium songs. While not my favorite, it definitely deserves to be higher on the list than it is. Every second of this song is fantastic.

Their most underrated song of all-time. Definitely in my top five for their library. Maybe even top three. It has everything. Great vocals, riffs, and a killer quiet guitar solo. Amazing song.

Yeah, I really don't understand how this song does not make it into the top ten spot! The intro is a killer. Awesome acoustic bridge! And a fantastic solo. Come on, guys, let's make this one rise to the top where it rightly belongs.

22 Entrance of the Conflagration

This needs to be higher! Way higher! This song is so thrash-like, and it's amazing. The solos, the riffing, the vocals - everything is great.

How is this at 27? The opening riff is a monster, and the whole song is an absolute thrasher!

How is this song 34th? Its solos are amazing.

23 The Revanchist

This one is so unique and melodic, it really stands out. My current favorite Trivium song.

24 Departure

Fantastic guitar, should be higher!

Very close to being up there with PHSM. One of my favorite metal songs.

25 Forsake Not the Dream

This song is a masterpiece from the first to the last second. It strikes a great balance between furious riffs and guitar melodies, and the drumming is fantastic. It should be in the top 10 of this list, and should also be a staple in all the band's concerts.

One of my favourite songs by Trivium. Amazing riffs and solo. I really loved it. You can try them on guitar. Come on, people, you've got to listen to the song, or you'll miss the great creation of Trivium.

This song deserves to be higher on the list - at least in the top 15. Keep voting, people, and forsake not the dream!
