Top 10 Best Xbox One Games

Discover the best games for the Xbox One, a highly anticipated console by Microsoft. The Xbox One, initially rumored to be the Xbox 720, is the successor to the hugely successful and simply awesome Xbox 360.

In addition to this, the Xbox One is a main competitor of Sony’s PlayStation 4, so it needs to be pretty impressive. This discussion is devoted to finding the best games available for the Xbox One.
The Top Ten
1 Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

This game is unbelievable! Its graphics are stunning, and it is the best in the series, paired with a beautiful control set and an excellent storyline. Assassin's Creed is by far the greatest Xbox game and is cherished by many. It truly does deserve the title as the greatest Xbox One game.

I'm so happy to see this above Call of Duty. Call of Duty got old, and I only played from World at War to MW3 before Black Ops II turned me off from the series. Sure, the multiplayer was fun, but the campaign was terrible. So, I played 5 Call of Duty games and got bored. I've played all 6 AC's, and I want more! I love games that focus on the single-player experience. Those are the best, in my opinion.

This game has astonishing graphics and an amazing storyline. But the game isn't complete unless you have Freedom Cry.

2 Titanfall

People often say there's nothing to do in first-person shooters other than kill the enemy. While some FPSs manage to do more, killing all the enemies is still the objective in many games. What matters is how such a simple idea can be executed and how it differs from most games. Titanfall is a game about killing all enemies, yes. But what makes it different from the Call of Duty series, which it is often compared to, is that the objective depends on which side of the mission you're on.

The gameplay is also pretty well balanced, with weapons that serve more of a purpose than just having a greater quantity. The parkour mechanics work to each map's advantage, making them more explorable and accessible. As for the Titans, many people said this was a gimmick and it's just Call of Duty with mechs. No, just no. Titans are not as overpowered as people say, and pilots can take them out using something called skill.

The biggest complaint I have about the game, though, is the story. It could be a good story if we could see it. I don't think it would be too hard to add cutscenes to unlock between missions, and doing so may have actually given us a reason to care about what was going on.

3 Battlefield 4

Campaign: Not very eventful, kind of. But still a lot better than Destiny's (every game's story is better). 7/10

Multiplayer: Absolutely AMAZING! Not better than BF3's, but very good nonetheless. BF4 really struggled at the beginning because EA didn't give DICE enough time to polish the game. But, ever since January/February, the multiplayer has been fixed. 9.2/10

Overall: 8.1/10, but everyone is just going to play multiplayer: 9.2/10.

Absolutely fantastic. I've played BF3 for like 36 days of playtime and it still surprises me. Call of Duty is the same game every year. This game demolishes 3. The 64-player combat is ridiculous, and the maps and environment change is gorgeous and epic. Call of Duty fans, give it a try. You won't go back, trust me. Sincerely, A Former Call of Duty Fan.

Gotta be BF4 all the way. The graphics are superb, especially on next-gen. The single player has a great storyline, and multiplayer is by far the best out of any other game, with 64 simultaneous players online. There's a wide variety of different weapons and vehicles, such as tanks and aircraft, etc. What more could a gamer ask for? In my opinion, it blows Call of Duty and Titanfall alike out of the water.

4 Call of Duty: Ghosts

Brilliant Call of Duty, but Infinity Ward isn't as innovative or experimental as they used to be, or as Treyarch is. Though this game is still brilliant, it feels simply like it could be called Modern Warfare 4 in the multiplayer, like a more advanced MW3. I just hope that more is done for the next game. Still, this is a great Call of Duty. A long time can be spent on this great multiplayer (though Titanfall is much more epic).

Fantastic story, campaign - Call of Duty did it again with Modern Warfare 2, 3, Black Ops 1, 2, and the upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. However, the aliens in this game are a letdown. The multiplayer did impress me, but Black Ops 2 multiplayer was better. The campaign felt like a race to the finish line. Grade A-

I don't know why everyone hates on Call of Duty. They're all well-made, well-paced games with amazing local and online multiplayer. Come on now, people, let's not hate these great games. Oh, and I bet half the people who hate Call of Duty own at least one of the games.

5 Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V is the best Grand Theft Auto ever. I love it. It's what Grand Theft Auto is all about - money, empire building, cars, and freedom. I sold it with my 360 to get the One. I can't wait for it to release on the One.

A very awesome game. The story is a little short but awesome. But I think Nico Bellic should have been added.

One of the best games I've ever played, though it's not much different from the Xbox 360 version.

6 Minecraft

Talk it over with 50 Xbox players. They will think Minecraft is the best. I'm even surprised PS4 Minecraft got poor reviews. Minecraft is a good game when you're bored. (MOM! Can You get me Minecraft)

I know these people who say Minecraft sucks or Minecraft is just a bunch of blocks. But you're not Mojang, making millions of dollars every day, are you? Hmm, thought so.

I love Minecraft, who does not? It's one of my favorite games because you can get on servers and it's so fun!

7 Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs is a fabulous game that beats out Titanfall and Alien Isolation. During the game, I was able to hack streetlights, steal sports cars, and commit crimes without the cops knowing. This is my favorite Xbox One game ever created!

What's more fun than hacking traffic lights and turning them green, causing a large pile-up before exploding a pipe under the wreckage? Seriously?!

These guys made Assassin's Creed. That means an amazing story, amazing gameplay, and amazing graphics. It's rare to find all in one game!

8 Dead Rising 3

Dead Rising 3 was an amazing game, even though it falls a little short compared to the enjoyment of playing Dead Rising 2. The fact that the open-world experience is amazing makes this one of the best Xbox One games. It definitely deserves to be higher on the list. (8/21/14)

Vastly improved graphics from previous installments. The new storage locker system makes finding weapons less of a hassle. The access to vehicles (added vehicle combos) makes game progression much less about just walking.

Dead Rising 3 is a really awesome game. I just don't understand why it's only for Xbox One because some people can't afford an Xbox One. Microsoft, please make it for the 360.

9 FIFA 14

I have to admit I bought the Xbox because I wanted to play Titanfall. I bought it, played it, and was completely disappointed after one or two hours. I had to rely on the only other game I had for the console, FIFA 14. I had never been interested in football or any other sport for that matter, but this game is genius. It has made me 100% more interested in soccer, and I can't stop playing it every free moment I have. I'm also really excited for the upcoming World Cup because of this game.

I don't think anything else can be said about FIFA except it's better than FIFA 13, the same amount as FIFA 13 was better than FIFA 12. Still, it's a brilliant game.

Best game ever, man. I love this game on my iPad as well as the Xbox One, but still, best game ever. Five stars!

10 Halo 5: Guardians

They say that the top two games and game series have been Call of Duty and Halo, but every year Halo wins by quite a lot. Halo has been voted by both game specialists and people as the best game, winning multiple People's Choice Awards. All the Halo games should be on top of the list. In the past years, Halo has overpowered Call of Duty in campaign missions, online, graphics, and last of all, it has been rated the number one overall product.

The story was above average, I'll give it that.

But the multiplayer is unparalleled. Easily one of the best in the series, and it can be a worthy competitor to Reach's Forge mode.

This has 15 awesome levels, while the rest only have 10. The story is super engaging. If I had an Xbox One, this would be my first buy.

The Contenders
11 Forza Motorsport 5

I really don't see how this is lower than FIFA. Sorry, but soccer is boring enough to watch on TV. What sort of person would rather play FIFA over Forza 5? Don't even get me started on Call of Duty: Ghosts. Even if there were only ten games on the Xbox One, that shouldn't make the list. I'm mates with a die-hard Call of Duty fan, and even he admits that the game is rubbish. More importantly, however, this is the best game in its genre.

Forza Motorsport 5 is pretty much Grand Theft Auto V, but you don't really have the chance to drive and race with Ferraris or Lamborghinis. Forza Motorsport 5 will blow your mind!

Inexplicably awesome! Why are you slacking, guys? This should easily be #1, not 6th place. By the way, there is a mistake: this is Forza Motorsport 5 Limited Edition, not Forza Motorsport 5 (Standard Edition).

12 The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Think Skyrim world and atmosphere, Game of Thrones writing and characters, Arkham Asylum combat, all improved with next-gen technology.

This list is a JOKE. This could be the best game I've ever played.

Great story, it's worth any bill.

13 NBA 2K14

My Player makes this game so good, even though I am averaging 13 points for the Timberwolves with about three rebounds and one assist, and I only play eight or ten minutes. I wanted a trade to the Celtics, Thunder, or Nuggets (I wanted a ring while I was on a team that I liked, and I wanted the Nuggets because they were like second in the conference). However, I got traded to the Mavericks and now am averaging 15 points per game with a career high of 29, along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

I also average 3 to 4 rebounds and 1-2 assists, but my team is tenth in the conference. So, I am going to stay this year, but I might request a trade because I have never started a game, which I think is a glitch.

The graphics are nice, but they're still lacking "cool" tattoos for player creation and a more diverse variety of facial features. They have used the same voice for your MyPlayer dating back to, I think, NBA 2K12, which is annoying. They added a storyline to MyPlayer, which was nice, but a lot of the cutscenes are repetitive. I think it could use more detail behind the storyline. Online play is very fun and competitive.

14 Destiny

This should definitely be towards the top of the list, if not at the top. If you actually knew anything about games, then you would know that this is one of the top most anticipated games of the year.

Got it cheap and have played it every weekend since. Great game. It's not pay to win (thankfully) and it's not unbalanced most of the time. I love the open-world design and the storyline. Plus, online co-op is a great option. The only downside is the DLC cost (but I'm getting them for free).

One of the top most anticipated games on my list. It's from the creators of my most favorite series. Bungie and Activision.

15 Fallout 4

How is this not #1? Made by the most creative studio, teamed with graphics for the Xbox One, it's dope. Seriously, the best thing to do while baked.

16 Ryse: Son of Rome

I just got my Xbox One, and I've gotten 4 games in total for it. Halo 5 is okay, but a huge disappointment. Destiny: The Taken King is better than the original Destiny from what I've heard, but I haven't really started it yet. Divinity: Original Sin is good, but nothing too noteworthy.

Thank goodness that I have one game making the system worth the $500 purchase (Halo 5 Xbox), and that's Ryse.

It's like another God of War, but way more badass. I think if they made another one, it should be about the Chinese Empire or the Egyptian Empire.

This is a great game with the most realistic graphics. Love the campaign and gladiator mode, both so realistic!

17 Forza Horizon 3

If anything, the Xbox Play Anywhere feature made this game even better. Now that buying a digital download of this game on the Xbox One enables you to play it on the PC at no additional cost.

This game will be amazing, even better than the last Forza game.

18 Assassin's Creed Origins
19 Far Cry 4

Very fun game, very unique and different compared to a lot of other games out there. It's set in the wilderness, unlike the rest of the games like Grand Theft Auto V and Watch Dogs, etc.

I give it a 7 / 10.

How is this game not in the top 10? Best Game.

20 Forza Horizon 4
21 Assassin's Creed Odyssey
22 Lego Marvel Super Heroes

Awesome, really awesome. I love playing it.

23 Tom Clancy's the Division

An RPG aspect in a shooter based in a ravaged world. Don't see that a lot, do you?

This will revolutionize how games are made, guaranteed.

24 Halo: The Master Chief Collection

The game which will save the Xbox One, thanks to the Halo 2 campaign being remastered.

SO cool, all Master Chief's games in one! Now, instead of buying all the games separately for about 240 dollars, you can buy them all in one for 60 dollars! 1, 2, 3, and 4, but soon 5!

It's going to be awesome to play Halo 2 on Xbox One again. I have such fond memories of this game.

25 Madden NFL 25

I like Madden 25 in all, but I think Madden 15 is better. They're both my favorites.
