Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling

CommentsTopPopularNewest

This series is my life! I don't (and never will) love a book more than Harry Potter. I can read the books over and over again, and burst out laughing each time Fred and George say something funny, and I cry each time Dobby, or someone else dies. Harry Potter is the best, I'm serious. I also like Twilight, Divergent and the Hunger Games, but honestly, they can't compare to Harry Potter. Most of my friends think I'm crazy, or that I'm exaggerating, but seriously, I'm not. I sometimes am depressive because I don't live in the world of Harry Potter. I want to go to Hogwarts, learn how to control magic, fight against Voldemort's army, be in Dumbledore's Army, etc. I also want to thank J.K. Rowling for writing these awesome books, that made my life better.
This story never gets old, and it will stay popular forever (I hope).
GO HARRY POTTER! - Silverfeather

It's a miracle that Harry Potter is below Twilight. I mean, sure not all people might like it, but really? Twilight? I mean seriously people. Harry Potter speaks of courage, friendship, sacrifice, the hardships of living in a world filled with war. You don't know what will happen the next day and you fear you might lose the war and become killed because you're muggleborn. Twilight is about the importance of having a boyfriend and how a girl will be totally helpless without her boyfriend. Sexist much? I think so.

Reading this series is one of the best things that I have ever done. No other series of my lifetime has and probably ever will surpass the Harry Potter series. I feel like everything else that we love today has copied the Harry Potter series. We all know and love the stories of the Twilight Saga and Mortal Instruments, but seriously in some parts it seems like the author wasn't even aiming for originality when they wrote the plot or created the characters. But we know that J.K. Rowling wrote from her heart. I read her books knowing that in my hands I hold a horcrux because like Voldemort put a part of his soul in the seven objects, the author put a part of her soul in each book.

This. Is. My. Life

I'm am glad that this is above twilight! I could write a love story better than twilight and I'm 15 and can't write at all! Harry potter deserves to be first or at least second on this list because it is amazing! It helped me through the hardest time in my life and helped a lot more people too! And what has twilight done? It has taught teenagers to become depressed and try to kill themselves if their boyfriend breaks up with them stupid!

I love you jk rowling I don't know what my life would be like without your wonderful magic in it! You are my queen!

Reading HP is a wonderful and rewarding experience. There's so much to learn from it, and so many interesting little details that JKR integrated into the characters, story, and setting (such as the meaning of the name "Dolores"), that it only gets better every time you go back through the series. HP teaches us all the different ways to love, and how truly powerful love is. Few series can claim the same achievement, whatever their genre.

While I like The Lightning Thief and Twilight, Harry Potter ought to beat out both of them (with The Lightning Thief before Twilight). Harry Potter is well written and most people who read it enjoy it. However, I don't see the point in comparing books like Harry Potter and Twilight, they're each good in their own way.

Harry Potter would probably be a horrible book to analyze throughoutly, as one would never be able to finish. The entire magical world of Harry Potter is so developed one could mistake it for something out of real life. It touches so many aspects of life that anyone would be able to relate to it.

It has changed my life and participated so much in my childhood that I can truly say I cannot imagine a life without Harry Potter as my imaginary companion.

An amazing series. Although both the 'Lightning Thief' and 'The Hunger Games' are amazing 'Harry Potter' wins for me. However close it may be. An amazing book I recommend everyone of any age should read at one point in their lives.

How there is anything above these is beyond me... Harry Potter has far more about it than any of the other books listed here. The Harry Potter series contains plenty of life lessons as well as a lot of fantasy, drama, and more importantly... War!

I grew up with Harry Potter, it's my childhood! It aided me through the tough times in my life! Knowing there was somewhere magical to escape to made me feel better. Not just about life, but about myself!

How can the hunger games possibly beat harry potter? This book series influenced an entire generation! It's so awesome and the hunger games is really boring at times.

Harry potter all the way it's the most wonderful boom series I've read but I can't believe Twilight beats it... I give credit to our queen, J.K. rowling for making these fabulous books

If you don't know how awesome Harry Potter is by now, then you've had your head in a bucket these last few years. I would say you could look at its popularity to see how good it is... But Twilight killed that method, so I'll just point to its excellent plot, engaging world, AMAZING characters, and multiple tearjerking moments.

Harry Potter, Number 2? The author of the hunger games evem admitted to copying the story from an old Japanese book. Also, Harry potter is the best selling series in all of history, and J.K. rowling is the only author in the world ever to make over a billion dollars just with a novel.

Best book series ever! I wonder why the hell it is isn't on the number one spot, but what bothers me more is that it is below twilight? O. O

This list is stupid. HARRY POTTER IS BY FAR THE BEST! I can't believe it's not even in the top ten!

Although I am in many fandoms I have to say Harry Potter is by far the best. It is like returning home. They have timeless story and theme and is never boring, even if the entire chapter is just hog warts classes or Harry at the dursleys. I'm so glad this is number one

Better than the hunger games but twilight is the best book I've ever read as well as HP. Just my opinion.

The Harry Potter series is the best YA book series in the world, and that's not even an opinion, it's a fact. When you read the Harry Potter books, you are in a place of enjoyment. It's like you are part of the stoy. Every character was so well made and written.

This book series is the most amazing thing. Not sappy like Twilight. Teaches you good life lessons.

I love Harry Potter. As much I love Hunger Games and Divergent, Harry Potter tops it all!

Best young adult fiction book. I like Prisoner of Azkaban

Honestly, how could it not be number 1?

Hunger Games has so many shallow characters. In HP you love EVERYONE. And the story is just so much more enthralling. In THG, it just kind of relies on the game (except for Mockingjay, and that book was LAUGHABLY bad). Hunger Games is unoriginal, uninspired garbage whereas the HP series is incredibly heartwarming and inspiring. You really feel as though you grow up with Harry! That's what makes a good book - attachment to your characters. Please don't get me started with Twilight.

This is amazing. Everything is so perfect and it keeps awesome throughout the series. Unlike Divergent which is bad. It is so amazing and if you haven't read it you should. The writing is legendary and the plot and characters are so relatable and you really feel for them. By a billion miles the best Series ever.
P.S Hunger Games and Maze Runner are both amazing as well and don't read Twilight as it sucks in every way known to mankind.
