Top 10 Biggest Anime Debates

I initially preferred dubbed because I A) didn't like having to listen to Japanese voice actors as I couldn't understand them, and B) well, that's just how I started watching anime. But over time, as you go deeper into the world of anime, you notice several things that make dubs utterly pointless, ridiculous, or frustrating.

The match-up of the subtitles to the dub is usually inaccurate, which I have to say can be funny, but you sometimes lose the essence of the subtlety in the original script.

Anime has a lot of emotion. The vast majority of the time, the emotion stems from the voice actors. For me, the best emotion is in Japanese voice actors.

Dubs sound utterly ridiculous sometimes. The girls' voices are far too high, and perhaps out of habit from being picky about voice actors, this makes me cringe and unable to focus and watch it properly.

Anime is Japanese and should be embraced that way. You also get to watch way more anime if you watch them in Japanese as they take ages sometimes to dub new anime. So, it's a win-win situation. But whatever floats your boat. Maybe it helps that I love reading too?

I love all three! The big three is amazing. I haven't watched too much Bleach to call myself a Bleach fan, though. I think the battle is really between Naruto and One Piece. Naruto was my first anime and also the first anime I finished. While One Piece is my favorite anime, and I am halfway done.

Well, you might be saying, "If One Piece is your favorite, why not just pick it?" See, when I debate, I like to have good things from all sides. I don't pick a side without a good reason. Naruto is an amazing story with deaths that are heartbreaking. I can say the same for One Piece, though. When someone does die, I, myself, need a tissue.

DBZ is the worst to watch, in my opinion, but solos both verses. Naruto is good, just has a lot of filler, and OP is a masterpiece. As for standing in power between Naruto and OP, due to recent manga events for OP, the OP verse probably beats the Naruto verse.

I think Goku will win because he is faster than Naruto. Don't get me wrong, I still think it will be an amazing fight, but if you watch Jiren vs. Goku, you will see that if Naruto truly pushes Goku to his limit, he will go Ultra Instinct, then the match is over from there.

As long as season three doesn't pull a "Psycho Pass 2" and screw everything up, Code Geass pulls ahead of Death Note due to it having the greatest ending of any show I've ever watched.

I would have to say Code Geass because it is an anime with both a great story and such loving characters. Well, that is what I think, so feel free to agree or disagree.

Code Geass is the perfect package. Though Death Note is very well made, it ends on a flat note.

Goku would obviously win. His speed is comparable to those who could travel through universes in seconds, while his power is multi-universal. The biggest thing Saitama destroyed is part of the moon, but that is not even close to Goku's biggest feat.

Stupid argument. Saitama is a joke character, and the author himself said that he will be the strongest in whatever verse he is in, no matter what!

I would say Goku as of right now because we haven't seen Saitama go all out, but I think he will be able to beat Goku eventually.

I think it depends. For those older titles such as Fruits Basket or Sailor Moon, the manga is beautifully illustrated. But for something like Sword Art Online, Fairy Tail, Inu X Boku, Your Name (great movie by the way, you should watch it), and Attack on Titan, they are nicer in anime. Hearing the voices, the heartbreak, the happiness, the music... is more to which I would prefer.

I haven't read much manga. I have watched a lot of anime, though. I love both. It really depends. Some anime are better with manga and others as anime.

Cartoons are pictures that are drawn or animated, not real pictures taken. Anime, on the other hand, refers to 2D Japanese animations. Anime does fall under the category of cartoons, as it is hand-drawn. However, many cartoons, like How to Train Your Dragon, are 3D American animations and not Japanese, so they are not anime. But even if an anime is called a cartoon, it's not derogatory.

There are plenty of great cartoons with good characters, costumes, personalities, story, plot, voices, voice acting, animations, etc. And calling an anime a cartoon does not mean that it is aimed at children. There are many cartoons that are only for adults. Cartoons, while usually aimed at children, are just drawings that are not pictures of real-life things.

To be honest, they both have their strengths and weaknesses because Naruto can just duplicate himself and trick Luffy. Or Luffy can play passive-aggressive and stay back a little while attacking Naruto.

Strength: Naruto. Speed: Naruto. Offense: Naruto. Defense: Naruto. Naruto defeats Luffy. And that's just Naruto with incomplete Kurama.

Luffy, at this point in the manga, beats Naruto due to Luffy's awakening. Also, don't forget the story isn't even over yet, so Luffy's power may still grow.

Seinen manga and anime are better than Shonen because, unlike Shonen, Seinen tells a dark and mature story that can sometimes be better than watching pirates on a boat being stupid.

I think shonen is better, although seinen is not far behind.

Hinata, and if you choose Sakura, then you're actually unreasonable. See, I didn't even capitalize the s in her name because she is less significant or something like that.

Hinata, no doubt. In beauty, intelligence, loyalty, strength, and just overall character development, she surpasses Sakura.

Sakura, both power and physical appearance. Fight me.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Dragon Ball fanatic, but this is such an unfair comparison.

Easily Goku. He can destroy multiverses.

Goku wins in a fight. Naruto is the better written character.

I personally like fan service. It can really help anime by appealing to the audience and actually giving unreasonably hated characters some appreciation from fans. Even though it can take over the story or just be shown too often, for some anime, like DxD for example, they're the main appeal and aspect of the anime. Anime that are not hentai but still have plenty of sex jokes or fan service have a genre, and it's called ecchi. Saying that the fan service in DxD is bad is like saying the gore and fights in Naruto are bad.

Akame Ga Kill will be my favorite anime due to different types of nostalgia.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, of course. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood had actual plot structure and source material to go off of. Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 had ten or twelve unresolved plot points that are caused when you start running around with a plot like a chicken with its head cut off. (And no, Conqueror of Shamballa doesn't solve much anyhow.)

Both are great shows, but only one can be the best. Let the debates begin!

I like tsundere more. Yandere generally just have their dere type as their entire personality and their love interest as their backstory and only character development. They often say, My world was grey and dull and I didn't have a reason to keep going, until I met them. Yandere can refer to people obsessed with violence or just crazy people in general, but my reasons for not liking them are the same.

But tsundere just means that they are defensive to the point of violence, get embarrassed easily, or won't admit their love. Even though it can be a big chunk of their character, they generally have a genuinely sad and sometimes very unique reason as to why they're always rejecting the other. This is just my preference. I'm also biased just because kuudere are my favorites and some are somewhat similar to tsundere.

The three best-known anime dub companies (sans the infamous 4Kids). People who enjoy English dubs will debate which company makes the best English dubs. This is also the debate over which is the best Dragon Ball dub.

Funimation and Viz Media are the best, and Bandai is just a wannabe anime company.

Rock Lee wins, no debate. Killua cannot keep up with the power of the 8 gates.

First of all, which Jojo? Second, if it's Jonathan, Joseph, or Jotaro, they would lose because they're just superhuman. The only Jojos that can beat Todoroki are Giorno and Jotaro (Eyes Of Heaven).

Lelouch vi Britannia. As an anime, I prefer Death Note, but Light's acting is actually painful to watch. He is an idealist, and his philosophy that all criminals do not deserve to live is not justified, as fat Americans in front of a TV screen are way more disgusting.

Lelouch vi Britannia is portrayed in the show as a genius. He is unpredictable, good at lying/acting, and very amusing. His actions at the end of the show were the most shocking, as he was portrayed as a narcissist for the most part.

I can see that Lelouch is much less mentally stable, and his whining can get annoying, but it's just because unlike Light, he had an interesting backstory, which is one of the things that anime does better than any Hollywood movie/show.

I absolutely love chibi! At first, I didn't know what they were, but when I clicked on it, I was captured by the cuteness. However, my love for chibi is not as much as the real thing. True, I enjoy looking at them, but I really like the real version too. However, if anyone else sees this, please say what you think! There can never be any wrong answers with this.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica! Honestly, the story is pretty good, and don't even get me started on Kyubey's design. He's just the most intriguing little devil.

I would go with MGLN. PMMM is the most overrated magical girl anime ever.

Angel Beats, to me, had the far greater ending and overall felt more saddening and memorable throughout its progression. In my opinion, both of these short anime series are terrific and pull so hard at your heartstrings. It's a difficult choice in my eyes since both are so great at what they are trying to do, but Angel Beats just honestly made me feel something more. I recommend both shows highly, and they are very incredible masterpieces, so go give them a watch!

Both are really sad anime. Both are romances. Can't really decide which one is better.
