Top 10 Biggest Douchebags of Rock and Metal

Rock and Metal have their fair share of douchebags from their ego's to their overall annoyance.
The Top Ten
1 Ian Watkins Ian Watkins is a Welsh singer and convicted sex offender, best known as the former vocalist for the rock band Lostprophets. He was convicted of sexually assaulting multiple young children and babies, and was sentenced to 29 years in prison.

He should be on top of that list.

2 Varg Vikernes Louis Cachet, (born Kristian Vikernes) more popularly known as Varg Vikernes, is a Norwegian musician, writer, and a convicted murderer and arsonist. He is known as the frontman of the one-man band Burzum (named after a word in the Black Speech, which is a fictional language in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings), which is considered one of the most influential bands in black metal history. He's also known for murdering Mayhem guitarist Euronymous and was sentenced to 21 years in prison in 1994.

Hands down one of the big douches of any musical genre, let alone metal. Burns down churches, is a Neo-Nazi and killed a bandmate. Deserves a high spot on the list.

how people think that Axl Rose is the worst person in the metal and rock genre when Varg exists is beyond me. this guy stabbed his bandmate to death, is a literal Neo Nazi, and burned down churches in the 90's. doesn't seem to show remorse for any of his actions either. still worse than Axl Rose, eh?

He is lower than Chad Kroeger, who donated to charity. Is this a joke?

Should be higher than Kroeger... at least Kroeger isn't a murderer.

3 Ronnie Radke Ronald Joseph Radke is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, musician, and record producer born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the current singer of the band Falling In Reverse and is the former singer of Escape The Fate.

How was this idiot not here before? He's the very definition of an egotistical douchey crybaby! Not only does he get into a lot of fights, but he can't take criticism in the slightest and will beef with whoever reviews his music negatively. Ronald McDonald Radke needs to be very high on this list.

4 Gene Simmons Chaim Witz, known professionally by his stage name Gene Simmons, is an Israeli-American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, actor and television personality.

Depressed people should kill themselves; that's some amazing advice you've got there Simmons. I suppose Kurt Cobain, Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell need to owe you a lot, don't they, because those three did the right thing killing themselves because they were depressed. Ronnie James Dio is a pathetic ripoff, because Gene invented the metal horns, and has been using it ever since.

No seriously, I hate Gene Simmons SO MUCH! At least with Axl Rose, I can sympathize with him due to his backstory and he's actually gotten better overtime. Gene's the same pompous, fame/money greedy A-hole since KISS's success. His own son even criticized him, calling him the "Donald Trump of Rock music", which is coincidental considering he actually supports Trump. What's sad is that he never had a sad back story to influence his personality. He got popular, and his fame got the best of him.

Just a huge douche - Kiss one of the most overrated bands ever.

I don't even need to explain this one...

5 Fred Durst William Frederick "Fred" Durst is an American musician and film director. Durst is best known as the vocalist of the nu metal band Limp Bizkit, formed in 1994, with whom he has released six studio albums.

He has quite the ego...

6 Lars Ulrich Lars Ulrich is a Danish drummer and one of the founding members of the American thrash metal band Metallica.

At the end of the day he is still metallica

He has a really big ego...

7 Ted Nugent Theodore Anthony "Ted" Nugent is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and far right activist. Nugent initially gained fame as the lead guitarist of the Amboy Dukes, a band formed in 1963 that played psychedelic rock and hard rock.

He may have done some crazy or weird stuff, but I've met him before and he seemed pretty chill and kind enough to sign my guitar t-shirt although he may have been feeling a little stressed

Decent guitar player but damn it needs to be said, he has one hell of a ego!

8 Courtney Love Courtney Michelle Love is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and visual artist. A notable figure in the punk and grunge scenes of the 1990s, Love's career has spanned four decades.

Didn't she overdose in front of her daughter? What a lovely human being, I'm sure you'll agree.

To this day... I will never know why Kurt Cobain married her. She's annoying, antagonizinng, irriating and just downright ignorant!

Somebody has already said it but isn't the word douchebag for men?

Kurt deserved better than Courtney..

9 Kid Rock Robert James Ritchie Sr., known professionally as Kid Rock, is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, musician, record producer, activist, minister and actor.

Shouldn't even be on the list if you ask me.

He should be near the top of the list

He should be higher on the list.

No explanation needed.

10 Axl Rose William Bruce Rose Jr., better known as 'Axl Rose', is an American singer born on February 6, 1962, in Lafayette, Indiana. He Is the founder and lead singer of the hard rock band Guns N' Roses. He is a celebrated but controversial figure in the world of rock.

Axl minds his own business. Just because you don't agree with him doesn't mean he's a douche. One In Million is not an attack on homosexuals or people of another race. It is a story of Axl's experiences before making it big.

He is a homophobic a-hole. A shame because I really like a few Guns and Roses songs, but I can't listen to them anymore.

I am a big fan of Guns N Roses and his voice is amazing, but he is not the nicest person on the world

He's not a douchebag, or at least, he isn't a douchebag anymore. He is a better person than most people think.

The Contenders
11 Dave Mustaine David Scott "Dave" Mustaine (born September 13, 1961) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, actor and author. Mustaine is best known as a pioneer in Thrash Metal, being the former lead guitarist of Metallica before his dismissal in 1983, leading to finding and becoming the front man of his own band Megadeth shortly after.

This dude...he literally called himself the best guitarist

Dude wishes every day he was as good as Metallica

Dang some ego

12 Marilyn Manson Brian Hugh Warner, better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson, is an American musician, songwriter, actor, painter, multimedia artist, author, and former music journalist.

Funny that they put him on this list. I love him I mean he's like the most original rock figure out there and he tries to be a duchebag on purpose I honestly love it!

He doesn't just have a ego he intentionially wants to be controversial enough said.

I don't know how and why, but Marilyn Manson is definitely not a "douchebag"

Manson's not a douchebag. He's just out there, but still a decent dude.

13 Chad Kroeger Chad Robert Kroeger is a Canadian musician and producer, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the Canadian rock band, Nickelback.
14 M. Shadows Matthew Charles Sanders, better known by his stage name M. Shadows, is an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter and founding member of the American metalcore/alternative metal band Avenged Sevenfold.

Nicest guy ever!

15 Jacoby Shaddix Jacoby Dakota Shaddix is an American musician, singer-songwriter, sporadic actor and former television presenter.

This Papa Roach singer sure is one hell of a douche.

16 Euronymous Øystein Aarseth (1968-1993), who went by the pseudonym Euronymous, was a Norwegian guitarist and co-founder of the Norwegian black metal band Mayhem. Euronymous was stabbed to death by band member Varg Vikernes in August 1993. Euronymous was a controversial figure in black metal. He claimed to be a theistic satanist and was against individualism, compassion, peace, happiness and fun. He also claimed that he wanted to spread sorrow, hatred and evil. Another controversial thing he did was that he took pictures of Dead's corpse and used one of them for the front cover of Mayhem's live album Dawm of the Black Hearts. He stated that Dead's suicide was used to foster Mayhem's evil image.

Burnt Churches, formed the "Black Metal Inner Circle", a militant cult like group which indulged in illegal activities, was misanthropic and satanic, almost killed a band member during a rehearsal by stabbing him. Anymore points to prove that this guy deserves to be higher than 19?

17 Ozzy Osbourne John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne was born on December 3, 1948. He is also known as ''The Prince of Darkness''. Ozzy is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath. Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 and has since had a successful solo career, releasing 11 studio albums.

Let's go after the facts, abuses alochol and drugs, has a big ego and displays lots of attiude.

18 Liam Gallagher William John Paul "Liam" Gallagher is an English musician, singer, and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis, and later as the singer of Beady Eye.

He's said quite a couple of... questionable things. Mostly when under the influence. He and Noel... boy they do not get along at all. I wonder if he's putting on a facade sometimes to intentionally trigger people.

Liam is quite the character. I love him, but I have to admit he's a dipstick.

Got banned from an airline for abusing passengers

Oasis is better than the Beatles

19 Bono Paul David Hewson, known by his stage name Bono, is an Irish singer-songwriter, musician, venture capitalist, businessman, and philanthropist. His original nickname was Bono Vox which means "big voice".

Chad Kroeger, who donates to charity, gets a spot yet this literal piece of crap (as shown by South Park) doesn't. I love U2 but if I met this guy in real life I would just give him a punch in the face.

20 GG Allin Kevin Michael "GG" Allin (born Jesus Christ Allin; 1956-1993) was an American singer, songwriter and record producer, who performed and recorded with many groups during his career. He was best known for his graphic live performances which included self-mutilation, parading around the stage naked, fighting with members of his audience, and even eating his own feces. He was also known for his vulgar lyrics (which had themes of misogyny, pedophilia, blasphemy, and racism) which polarized listeners and created varied opinions of him. When questioned about his music and shows, Allin often replied that he was trying to make rock music "dangerous" again. ...read more.
21 Jimmy Page James Patrick Page is an English musician, songwriter, and record producer who achieved international success as the guitarist and founder of the rock band Led Zeppelin.

For me, my most hated person in all of music. While he is a fantastic guitarist and I'm not one to whinge about rock'n'roll rebellion, there are limits. Like kidnapping and raping a minor, for instance. Here, Page kidnapped a 14 year old Lorri Maddox because he took a fancy to her. After getting his roadie to kidnap her, she was imprisoned by Page while they had frequent sex, so he wouldn't be arrested. Utter scumbag, and to make things worse, unlike the many others on this list, Page was never arrested or punished for his crimes. Glad to know society is all in good shape, am I right?

Wait what. The Guitar God was not a douchebag. He was a great person!

He is a legend

22 Phil Anselmo Philip Hansen "Phil" Anselmo is an American musician who is best known as the former lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Pantera. He currently is the vocalist of heavy metal bands Down and Superjoint Ritual.
23 Don Henley Donald Hugh "Don" Henley is an American singer-songwriter, producer, and drummer, best known as a founding member of the Eagles before launching a successful solo career.

He has to be one of the most arrogant and narcissistic rock artists ever to make it big: he makes Axl Rose (who he collaborated with) look like a nice, approachable guy. His and Glenn Frey's holier-than-thou attitudes led to Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner, and Don Felder all leaving the band (in Felder's case, he was fired), and he still won't admit he's wrong. While I don't care for either of their music, his comments towards Frank Ocean and Kanye West were just low. At least be thankful someone is exposing your music to a younger audience.

24 Billy Corgan William Patrick "Billy" Corgan Jr. is an American musician, songwriter, producer, television writer, poet, and professional wrestling promoter best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and sole permanent member of The Smashing Pumpkins.
25 Wes Scantlin Wesley Reid "Wes" Scantlin is an American songwriter, lead singer, guitarist, and the only remaining founding member of the American post-grunge band Puddle of Mudd.
