It was a baseball no make that a major news event that day September 30 1927, Babe had 59, and was a complete different man than he was in 1925 when he was over weight and over the hill and had the case of too many hot dogs. In the 8th inning with a runner on third, Babe hit his 60th off Tom Zachary of the Washington Senators to set a new world record of 60. That home run was the difference in the 4-2 Yankees win and a place in baseball history.
