Top Ten Biggest Issues with the "Top 10 Users of TheTopTens" List

We all know this list. Put the greatest users of the entire website on here. But there are just so many problems. I went from 90 to 548! What happened there?
The Top Ten
1 People like to add and vote themselves

People shouldn't add themselves. They need to earn a spot on the list. I only would vote for myself if I want to leave a comment for myself.

So many users on this list, yet most of them we don't know about. Most of the time, they add themselves in.

I'm not a fan of users adding themselves to their own remixes.

Yeah I think you need to earn your spot on the list. I used to praise myself a lot but now I’ve tried to be more honest and humble about myself

2 Actual votes on the list do not matter, only the remixes do.

Apparently no matter how hard you vote for a certain user, they usually are not moving up on a list. If you decide to remix the list on the other hand, the positions rapidly change.

3 It is a very competitive list

Maybe this is another explanation as to why people hate it. They can't get themselves or their favorite user up, so they bash users they think they hate.

4 High quality users are often forgotten for "popular" users

I just came back to lurk on this site and I'm not surprised this is still an issue yet. The vast majority still tend to look up on other users based on their personality and that leaves the actual content users who are not really involved to the community overshadowed, but I guess that's the cause for having such a young userbase for this long.

If we look at things objectively, me, htoutlaws, WonkeyDude98, and even DCfnaf are at the very top, with formerly high quality users like PositronWildhawk not far behind. What we all have in common is this, loads of ACTUALLY DECENT content.

5 If you dishonorable mention someone, they drop to a much lower level.

This probably explains why I am at 548 now, someone DHM'd me. But what have I done that is so bad? Seriously?

6 So many unknown users in many places

Like #1, these were likely added by the users themselves. The site doesn't automatically place them there, that's what I know. So why are they always in front of actually decent users?

7 Those who don't care much about this list are never in a high position

I'm sorry but this is very ironic.

You could put me on one of the lowest spots on the list - I've been there. And I couldn't care less. I make content for myself, not others. I don't need other people's praise - not when all I'm doing is making top ten lists (But if you do like me and my content, I do appreciate that, don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you to get lost)

I get that it may be different if you have way more lists than I do, but you should really make content for yourself.

This used to be me, but now I realize how awful the quality control of this list is. I simply MUST NOT be this far behind.

8 It hurts to find yourself in a low position
9 They new TopTenners get less popularity
10 Somehow, it creates not only competition, but rivalries among users.

May explain the dishonorable mentions everywhere.

This is a problem, I will admit.

The Contenders
11 What happened to Overdose?

I realize this is a specific unknown user, but he actually created the list.

12 Registered members don't have a list of all the lists they've voted on in the past.
