Biggest Mary Sues from Disney Movies

The Top Ten
1 Aurora Aurora is a fictional character from the popular Disney Film, Sleeping Beauty and the 2015 Live Action Release, Maleficent. She is commonly known as Sleeping Beauty and is one of the group Disney Princesses. She is a unique Disney Princess as in her film, Sleeping Beauty, she has a total of 18 minutes ...read more.
2 Anna Princess Anna of Arendelle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd animated film Frozen.

When I watched the movie it is not Elsa's fault for hitting her head because she ran to quick at the wrong place at the wrong time. Second reason that she wants to marry hans on the same day they meet is to extreme and worse that she left a stranger in charge.

What the heck are people just adding characters to make the list longer she has flaws! she's nosy and stubborn and gullible but also funny and brave!

I hate everyone and agree that EVERYONE on this list is a Mary Sue, but I also don't watch Disney anymore so

Anna is SO loud. It seems like she is screaming at everyone! Plus:Poor anna. Her sister is so mean! Yeah right.

3 Ariel Princess Ariel is a fictional character and the title character of Walt Disney Pictures' 28th animated film The Little Mermaid.

She fell in love with someone she didn't even know, just because he was handsome. She took her life as a mermaid princess for granted, she was so love-blind she let an evil witch steal her voice just to see the prince, ultimately threatening the kingdom. I do NOT like her.

Honestly why I don't like Ariel is because in the movie everyone else FIGHTS for her and she pretends like she's completely helpless. The prince had to save her and her dad had to risk his life just because she was so damn ignorant.

May I remind you that she was curious, wanted to explore, to break the rules, not to mention she saved the prince not once but twice!

She is literally one of the only Mary Sues I agree belong on this list.

4 Snow White Snow White is a fictional character from Disney's first ever film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves . She is Disney's first ever Disney Princess and is the only Disney Princess to have her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .

The majority in the top tens are AWFUL candidates for this list.

Elsa: everyone (except her sister) thought she was some sort of MONSTER when they saw she had powers. She had to learn to control her powers herself, as her parents where of no help & they passed away.

Ariel: could not convince her father about Erik & had to find a different way, in which she had to struggle all the way through to get the prince to like her back, & in the end failed to do so in time & lost everything.

Anna: all she wanted was to have fun with her sister. Instead, she was locked up & had no contact outside the castle, with her sister forced to avoid her. And the guy she did 'fall in love' with was lying though his teeth the whole time for his own gain, and he almost got away with it too.

Belle: some stuck up prick kept trying to woo her when she had no interest in him, people found her odd due to how she liked books, & have troubles with them because the village didn't like her dad as well.

Mulan: you got to be kidding with this one? Mulan has to sacrifice to get in the army, struggled in the army, & once it was discovered that she was in fact a woman not a man, she got in trouble for it despite saving everyone...

Rapunzel: ok, if you think being stuck in a tower with your 'mother' not letting you leave or do anything & forcing you to de-age her as 'Mary Sue,'... What?

Jasmine: stuck in her kingdom & is always forced to find someone to marry.

Here we have the real Mary Sue! Kind, can talk to animals, sings well, got the villain's henchman to betray her, is 'the beautifulest one of all,' & got away with snoozing on the dwarfs bed! Also got rid of the poison apples effect by a strange 'handsome' prince who she has never talked to before kiss her & married him.

5 Cinderella Princess Cinderella is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 12th animated feature film Cinderella and its sequels Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.

Cinderella is indeed a tad too perfect, to the point of tolerating abuse for the sake of "kindness". She never really did anything. Anna is too obnoxious and useless to be a mary sue. I dislike Ariel because of her flaws. Elsa is definitely flawed, etc.

This photo just is the definition of perfect, pretty, and uptight. Perfect, pretty and uptight is the definition of Mary Sue.

Is it just me or does that picture just scream Mary Sue

6 Shank

From a non'-professional "Ralph Breakd the Internet" review: "When we meet Shank, she has no flaws. She's cool, she's confident, she's a ridiculously skilled racer, she basically exists as a living embodiment of everything Vanellope thinks is awesome. And then she heaps all this praise upon Vanellope, earning her admiration instantly." To which I add that things ultimately went HER way- she got Van to stay in her $*1**y game.

I don't care what her cult has to say about it. She was presented (if not outright pushed) as "perfect" and she got her way in the end.

Another horrible character from another bad movie.

7 Vanellope von Schweetz

She is one in "Ralph Breaks the Internet", what with influencing the official Disney Princesses (those stupid graphic tees and jeggings/short shorts), being portrayed as "right" no matter what, and getting her way (moving permanently to that stupid violent game).

Not so much in the original "Wreck-It Ralph", but dear God "Ralph Breaks the Internet" made her one!

8 Wendy Darling
9 Captain Marvel

Is estrogen a performance enhancing drug? Nope. Further explanation isn't required.

10 Belle Belle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 30th animated feature film Beauty and the Beast (1991) and in the live action remake Beauty and the Beast (2017). Belle is the intelligent and selfless young daughter of an inventor who does not conform to the normal ways of her small minded village.

Belle is a wonderful beauty little girl she is a beautiful of all of her provincial town people that's why gaston is bugging to marry her

Nah, I don't find her Mary sue!

The Contenders
11 Mulan Fa Mulan, a character inspired by an actual historic figure is a character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 36th animated feature film Mulan, as well as its sequel Mulan II.
12 Rapunzel Rapunzel is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 50th animated feature film Tangled, and its short sequel Tangled Ever After. She is the tenth Disney Princess, the first Disney Princess to be CGI-animated, and the first Disney Princess to have freckles or green eyes.

I like her, but at the same time I want to see her do something mediocrely rather than being talented at absolutely everything she does.

This one does whatever she wants with no consequences whatsoever. Enough said.

13 Kiara

I don't think any Disney character from an original Disney movie is a Mary Sue but, in Disney sequels we have this annoying Mary Sue from the Lion King 2 and Angel from Lady and the Tramp 2 but, DisneyToon sequels are awful and a lot of people prefer to forget them.

She is not a Mary Sue, she was disobedient as a cub, and that alone prevents her from being a Mary Sue. Also, she is sometimes smug and cocky, much like her father when he was a cub. She obviously has flaws.

The most annoying character on this planet

14 Esmeralda Esméralda, born Agnès, is a fictional character in Victor Hugo's 1831 novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame.

Why on earth isn’t Esmeralda 1#? Did everybody forget how much of a flawless, perfect Mary Sue this character is? She is literally the most beautiful girl in Notre Dame with amazing dancing talent, everybody loves her and cheers her on when she is single-handedly battling off ten guards with her wit and cunningness. The bad guy FELL IN LOVE WITH HER and burnt down Notre Dame to be with her, and once he did catch her, Quasimodo came and saved her just in time so that surprise, surprise, she didn’t die even though she inhaled way too much smoke. She didn’t get hurt or humiliated once during the whole movie. And I am surprised that Quasimodo wanted to save this brat, she kissed Phoebus in front of him even though she knew that Quasimodo thought she loved him. How cruel is that? Oh, and might I just add that she has the most beautiful voice when she’s singing, and everybody thinks she’s so caring and loving and kind. If she isn’t the most Mary Sueish character on this list I ...more

15 Cruz Ramirez

God, she is such a mary sue! her whole cliche 'ooh I always wanted to be a racer but wimped because boys scared me but I'm still secretly awesome' background is just awful. cruz is supposed to be an awesome trainer but she sucks and can't do her job at all. Lightning has to teach her and save from a school bus and give her a chance at winning. And them shes magically better than all the other cars. So stupid. why are girl characters made like this. why are they never secure or capable?! Why does someone ( a guy usually) have to give them everything because they can't do it themselves? and then their suddenly better than everyone and make the other characters look dumb. I hope she's not in the next carsmovie as cruz is an insult to female characters.

I liked the idea of seeing more girl cars in Cars but it’s pretty clear the people at Pixar don’t know how to write a good girl character because Cruz just plain sucks. Her background is cliche and contradicts itself, she’s annoying and gets away with treating people (Lightning) like garbage whilst expecting them to praise her and she then suddenly turns into a Mary Sue by being suddenly better than all the pro racers, Lightning and Storm, with no real experience and gets praised agian by everyone. It was only half a race! The other cars did the full thing. Why would they praise her?! Pixar need to go back and learn how to write girl characters and redo this one.

I was surprised that Cruz was portrayed in the manner she was in the film (ageist, incompetent, annoying, and the better than all the professional racers) given how Disney are usually good at making strong female characters, like Milan for example. Pixar are great with guys but not so much girls without making them either annoying, barely used or sues.

I really wanted to like Cruz but I just cannot help finding so many things about this character to be both annoying and Mary Sue like. Mary Sues are often portrayed as near perfect beings without flaws but this is not always the case. There are various types of sues and Cruz has traits from a few different ones. Her winning half a big race and nobody being mad that she practically cheated and instead praised her for doing only half of what they did? That’s a sue trait. Cruz suddenly being better than the pro racers when she has only a little experience? That’s a sue trait too. Also her constant belittling of Lightning when he first met her should have got her fired from her job but no we’re excepted to laugh and praise it as funny. Oh! and shame on Lightning for being angry at Cruz when he had to protect her, this super awesome trainer who cannot even train him, in a destruction derby type race. He was so bad for calling her out on being a waste of time when she should have been ...more

16 Bo Peep Bo Peep is a fictional character in the Toy Story franchise created by Pixar. The character is voiced by Annie Potts.

She was so nice in the first and second one, then they just ruined her. I used to like her and Woody together, but honestly she's rather toxic now.

17 Jasmine She is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 31st animated feature film Aladdin (1992).

Has almost every characteristic of a Mary Sue.
She is loved by pretty much everyone, She is pretty damn rich, she has had it easy since birth, but still complains about it, she is able to pole vault over a large gap inbetween 2 buildings, even though she has never even left the palace, aside from being a whiny child, she has no personality, and she can convince people to do pretty much anything, even her father won't make her marry someone she doesn't want and is almost at the point of giving up. Oh, and she has a pet tiger. Nothing says Mary Sue like this perfect little princess

18 Judy Hopps Officer Judy Hopps is the protagonist in Disney's 2016 animated feature film Zootopia. The first rabbit to be in Zootopia's police force, Judy is determined to make the world a better place while breaking preconceptions about other species. Teaming up with a fox named Nick Wilde, she sets off on her first case but discovers a sinister conspiracy is at play.

She's not a Mary Sue, she has flaws. She did initially had a prejudice against foxes. What she said at the press conference proves this (she said that she guesses that predators are biologically inclined to be savages).

19 Rey Rey is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by British actress Daisy Ridley. First appearing as the central character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey is a scavenger who was left behind on the planet Jakku when she was a child, and later becomes involved with the Resistance's conflict with the First Order when her solitary life is interrupted by BB-8, the droid of ace Resistance pilot Poe Dameron, and the runaway Stormtrooper Finn.

She is a huge Mary Sue.

20 Melody
21 Pocahontas Pocahontas is a title character in Disney's 33rd animated feature film Pocahontas, and its direct-to-video sequel Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World.

Let's all just put every female protagonist who does something good and call her a Mary Sue despite her obvious flaws and character development! (Seriously)

22 Jessie the Cowgirl
23 Princess Tiana
24 Minnie Mouse Minerva "Minnie" Mouse is a cartoon character created by Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney. She was first drawn by Iwerks in 1928, as was Mickey Mouse. Her former voice actor Russi Taylor (1944 - 2019) voiced her for 30 years & also married Wayne Allwine (1947 - 2009), the former voice of Mickey Mouse. Minnie Mouse is currently being voiced by Kaitlyn Robrock

Uptight, Goody Shoes, Mary Sue

25 Alice Alice is a fictional character and protagonist of Lewis Carroll's children's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass.

She's not a Mary Sue. She's on drugs.

She on acid though
