Top Ten Birds of Prey

The Top Ten

1 Golden Eagle

Is the strongest and second fastest animal on earth

Golden eagles have been known to kill deer, sheep/rams, and even wolves. I once saw a video on YouTube of a golden eagle snatching up a kid, but shortly dropped him. People have witnessed them knocking rams off cliffs and later eating them. They have a beautiful plumage and are amazing, powerful birds.

It can dive at over 150 mph. It can squeeze its talons stronger than a lion can bite. It can spot a Rabbit at three miles away. It can pick up an entire full grown goat. The perfect bird of prey. - HarCher

Diving up to 200 mph is not a rumor but killing a lion definitely is a rumor.

20 Eurasian Eagle Owl

Let me warn you, this owl is strong. If you so research on it, almost all of the Internet would say that it can kill a cat, a small dog, a skunk (very terrible sense of smell), a hawk, a kestrel, an osprey, a kite, a harrier, a buzzard, a deer, a snake, even other owls, and in rare occasions, a fox. There is evidence on YouTube and Google images as well, and if you look up their wingspan, which can be up to six feet, they are way larger than your average "powerhouse," a hawk. They are known to be predators and way better in combat when in a fair fight against any if the animals that I have listed, and they are beautiful, majestic animals that have a lot to do with many cultures and beliefs. When you see their talons, they are longer and sharper looking than a hawks, and I recall someone saying that something scared an owl, it gripped onto the persons arm, and nearly cracked it. Almost every species of owl can kill like that, and if not, about a little bit above 75%, while others can ...more

This place is full of nothing but hawks! Sure, they can symbolize power, and are usually the powerhouses in Disney movies. But are Disney movies real life? No. If you compare a Eurasian Eagle Owl's wingspan, which can reach six feet to a Hawk's you can OBVIOUSLY see that the owl is stronger. And, I have also done a lot if research on owls, and they eat: cats, small dogs, hawks, ospreys, buzzards, kestrels, and kites. They are known to be predators to hawks, and the others the listed, and are smarter, stealthier, and packs stronger, unless the hawks aren't alone! I also found photos on Google images of owls with hawk preys, and when I looked up if owls could eat any of the animals I listed, the majority said DEFINITELY YES, and additionally, they talons are very much stronger, but their beaks are weaker, which doesn't matter because owls or hawks don't use beaks in combat. This is one of the strongest owls, and have been around during the time when Roman troops where warring back in ...more

Same goes for almost all owl species besides the really small ones, with an exception of about a little bit less than half the amount if small owls, since I found a video in YouTube bat a small western screech owl killing a hawk that attacked it -- it was kinda blurry though, so I didn't know the species of the HAWK...

43 Red-shouldered hawk

Far less numerous than historically in some areas, including upper midwest and parts of Atlantic Coast, but current populations thought to be stable in most regions. Bottomland woods, wooded streamsides, swamps. In east, nests in deciduous and mixed forest, with tall trees and relatively open understory, often along rivers and swamps. May move into more open habitats in winter. In west, typically in riverside forest or in oak woodland, sometimes in eucalyptus groves. Florida birds may be in pine woods, mangroves. A hawk of the woodlands, often heard before it is seen. The clear whistled calls of this hawk are conspicuous, especially in spring; in the east, Blue Jays often give a near-perfect imitation of this call. Over much of eastern North America the Red-shoulder has become uncommon, sticking closely to the remaining forests. Populations in Florida and California are often more visible, perhaps adapting better to open habitats.
