Top Ten Coolest Birds of Prey

The Top Ten
1 Golden Eagle

Golden eagles have been known to kill deer, sheep/rams, and even wolves. I once saw a video on YouTube of a golden eagle snatching up a kid, but shortly dropped him. People have witnessed them knocking rams off cliffs and later eating them. They have a beautiful plumage and are amazing, powerful birds.

It can dive at over 150 mph. It can squeeze its talons stronger than a lion can bite. It can spot a Rabbit at three miles away. It can pick up an entire full grown goat. The perfect bird of prey.

The golden eagle should be the American bird it is more noble, takes down large prey, and is the true symbol of the American wilderness.

2 Peregrine Falcon The peregrine falcon, also known as the peregrine, and historically as the duck hawk in North America, is a widespread bird of prey in the family Falconidae.

The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest animal on Earth and with super sharp talons this bird is a killing machine. It is also the most beautiful bird of prey which is why I believe that this is the best bird of prey.

This is the fastest bird in the world and its talons are as big as lynx claws!
and these birds can fly up too 242 miles a hour while golden eagle is only 200! this is a amazing bird of prey, it is capable of taking on a small dog or even a cat maybe a hawk!

The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest animal on the planet plus it's super sharp tallons makes this bird a ruthless killing machine. It's also arguably the most beautiful bird of prey which is why the Peregrine Falcon should be known as the King of birds of prey

3 Harpy Eagle

They look super cool, with the mix of white and gold, their name alone beats the rest and they have literally kidnapped babies.

Huge talons! Very large but endangered! Respect these gray feathered hunters
!

Talons larger and sharper than a bear! That's what I'm talking about!

4 Red Tailed Hawk

It dominates every other bird of prey in its range besides eagles (even those it mobs) and GHO (GHO stronger, red-tail faster, more agile, fiercer). It is also the strongest and fastest (in stoops) of the hawks. Even though it doesn't look like it, it's pretty agile and belongs to the most agile of the buteos of its size. It can also smash through bushes and handle any climate. It's like a mini golden eagle and even more beautiful.

More beautiful than any falcon and I've seen them do aerobatics that I have never seen before. plus they've got the perfect combination of strength, speed, agility, beauty, and ferocity

5 Great Horned Owl
6 Philippine Eagle

The Philippine Eagle or Monkey-eating eagle is the world's largest living eagle in overall or total size. According to BBC wildlife award winning cinematographer Neil Rettig they are the most magnificent, marvelous, rarest and most powerful eagles in the world. Their beauty is like a gripping force and there's nothing else like that in the world, he said. According to David Attenborough of BBC the Philippine eagle headdress is a flamboyant crown which outclasses all other eagles in the world and without a doubt they are greatest eagles living in the planet today. They have the broadest wing area of all eagles capable of heavy load flights. It's the only living eagle specie to have a dusky blue-grey eyes and beak which is unique to all other raptors. Famous American Aviator Charles Augustus Lindbergh when fascinated with its beauty, dubbed it as the "World's most Noble Flier". This appreciation comes from a very popular, award winning and experienced environmentalist from all over the world. Sad to say they are only few in numbers. The HARIBON means King of Birds that once ruled the Philippine forest are now critically endangered.

7 Bald Eagle The bald eagle is a bird of prey found in North America. A sea eagle, it has two known subspecies and forms a species pair with the white-tailed eagle.

Love them, they are some of the most beautiful eagles in my opinion, and it isn't because I'm American, of course, that is a contributing factor, but I love the contrast between the white and the dark brown, and the sharp, golden eyes, and just how proud they stand... such majestic birds... may not be the strongest, but they are some of the most majestic.

I know this animal doesn't deserve the No. 1 spot, but at least give them a chance. At least they should be in the top 3, perhaps number two behind the Golden eagle.

Bald Eagles should at least be at number 4 on the list I witnessed with my own eyes one of those almost kill a red tail hawk.

8 Harris Hawk

My second favorite bird apart from the awesome sharp shinned hawk (how come they don't have that on here?)

9 Steller's Sea Eagle

The beaks on these birds are impressively strong and designed to be able to still slice even frozen prey.

10 Barn Owl

To add to previous comments, the barn owl is also the most widespread of all owls globally so extremely successful. The only continent it does not inhabit is Antarctica.

The Contenders
11 Burrowing Owl

Actually it can kill a crocodile but only baby ones search it up. Can a burrowing owl kill a croc yes but only baby ones.

Burrowing owls are so small they would freak out if a cat came by. They cannot kill a CROCODILE!

Awesome bird they can kill a croc.

12 Osprey
13 White Bellied Sea Eagle
14 Goshawk
15 Snowy Owl The snowy owl is a large, white owl of the typical owl family. Snowy owls are native to Arctic regions in North America and Eurasia.

Snowy owls are beautiful strong owls and when bonded with a human they are very loyal.

My second favorite bird, such a graceful beautiful yet lethal bird.

16 Andean Condor A South American bird species, the Andean Condor is one of the world's largest flying birds due to its wingspan, which can exceed 10 feet. It predominantly feeds on carrion and holds significant cultural and symbolic importance in various Andean cultures.

Largest wingspan of any Bird of Prey!

Possibly the largest Bird of Prey in the world!

Kings of a carcass!

They are the heaviest flying birds!

This thing is HUGE! They are a lot bigger than a Golden Eagle, and they are surely large and strong enough to carry a grown man. Not a buff man, just average, lol.

17 Northern Goshawk

These hawks are very cool. They live in jungles, they keep their head still while flying, they also twist and turn.

18 Eurasian Eagle Owl

Let me warn you, this owl is strong. If you so research on it, almost all of the Internet would say that it can kill a cat, a small dog, a skunk (very terrible sense of smell), a hawk, a kestrel, an osprey, a kite, a harrier, a buzzard, a deer, a snake, even other owls, and in rare occasions, a fox. There is evidence on YouTube and Google images as well, and if you look up their wingspan, which can be up to six feet, they are way larger than your average "powerhouse," a hawk. They are known to be predators and way better in combat when in a fair fight against any if the animals that I have listed, and they are beautiful, majestic animals that have a lot to do with many cultures and beliefs. When you see their talons, they are longer and sharper looking than a hawks, and I recall someone saying that something scared an owl, it gripped onto the persons arm, and nearly cracked it. Almost every species of owl can kill like that, and if not, about a little bit above 75%, while others can as well, but not as powerful. They are the symbol of wisdom, afterlife, mystery, stealth, and the nighttime. Owls, especially this species, are very powerful and are TRUE powerhouses.

19 Crowned Eagle

They are not stronger than a harpy eagle but are still very strong. Other than the Martial, in Africa they are undisputedly the most powerful bird of prey in africa.

These are the most powerful birds... These are the Flying Leopards. And most of all they are stronger than a harpy eagle.

20 Sparrowhawk

Why no picture? Beauty of a bird.

21 Kestrel

Amazing bird... If you don't know much about them, do some research and you will soon see why they are a favorite..

They are awesome! They can hover unlike other birds of prey!

They are wonderful bird of preys and they are beautiful!

22 Spotted Owl
23 Wedge-Tailed Eagle

Wedge tail eagles are relentless! They are known to attack hangliders, helicopters, livestock, small children pretty much anything.

Known to hunt in packs for large prey.

They eyesight reaches into ultraviolet and infrared.

Can reach a wingspan of over 3m

Confirmed to fly at 2km and higher

They are cool unique and can kill red kangaroos.

24 Blue Jay The Blue Jay (Latin name 'Cyanocitta Cristata') is a passerine bird in the Corvidae family . It's also known as a 'Jaybird' and it's name comes from it's noisy nature . It is native to North America and is in most of eastern and central US although some go to to other countries . Breeding populations... read more

Blue Jays belong to the 'Corvidae' family, not the 'Birds of Prey' family.

It-its not a bird of prey... it is a member of the family Corvidae, cool bird, but not a Bird of Prey

25 Hawk Hawks are a group of medium-sized diurnal birds of prey of the family Accipitridae which are widely distributed and varying greatly in size.
