Top 10 Birds with Caruncles

A caruncle is a small fleshy outgrowth from the head or neck/throat of some birds. Caruncles in birds include combs/crests, wattles (or dewlaps), snoods, and earlobes.

Big colorful caruncles usually indicate high levels of testosterone and good quality of the genes.

Usually caruncles have no feather covering or have only small scattered feathers.

The term 'caruncles' is used as an umbrella term for all these types of appendages but also for the ones that aren't snoods, combs/crests, wattles /dewlaps, or earlobes. I don't like this chaotic terminology but I can't change it - you will see the problems caused by it in my item descriptions.
It's the same with the term 'heavy metal' - it may refer to the entire metal genre, or to the subgenre that isn't thrash, death, prog, power or black metal.
